Day 2 - Journey to Bajos del Toro

In the late morning we travel by private transfer from Alajuela to Bajos del Toro – a highland area popular with nature lovers, hikers and birdwatchers. En route we stop in Sarchí – known as the cradle of Costa Rican craftsmanship – to visit the renowned oxcart factory and see the intricate work behind these colourful national symbols.
Sarchí is also noted for fine woodwork and furniture, and you can browse the small shops around the central park for handcrafted souvenirs. We then continue to your lodge in Bajos del Toro – El Silencio Lodge & Spa or similar.
Day 3 - Explore Bajos del Toro

Spend a free day in Bajos del Toro – there are no scheduled activities today. Set in a lush volcanic valley, the area is known for waterfalls, rainforest trails and abundant birdlife.
You can hike through cloud forests, visit local coffee plantations, or make your way to nearby highlights such as Catarata del Toro, Bosque de Paz Reserve, Poas Volcano National Park and Juan Castro Blanco National Park. The town’s rural character and welcoming community offer a straightforward glimpse of everyday Costa Rican culture. We stay at El Silencio Lodge & Spa or similar.

In the evening, you can step from your room into the rainforest and follow the jungle trails at your own pace, passing lush vegetation, streams and waterfalls. Overnight at Amor Arenal Lodge or similar.
Day 5 - Arenal Rainforest Experience
Today we ride the Sky Adventures Aerial Tram, gliding into the rainforest canopy for elevated views over the treetops and surrounding landscape.
