Itinerary
Day 1 - Prague
On arrival in Prague, we’ll meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel. Please check the information boards in the hotel reception for the time and details of the welcome meeting with your guide.In the evening, we’ll transfer you to Old Town Square – a lively area with plenty of restaurants serving Czech, Chinese, Indian and Italian cuisine – where you can choose a spot for dinner. A return transfer to the hotel is included.
Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Prague
Today we explore Prague, often celebrated for its Baroque character. With our local guide, we take a panoramic tour of the capital’s standout sights, then visit Prague Castle – admission included. We also include a relaxing boat cruise on the Vltava River for views of the city from the water. In the afternoon, you’ll have free time to continue exploring at your own pace.
Day 3 - Prague - Pilsen - Rothenburg - Frankfurt
We depart Prague early and stop in Pilsen in western Bohemia, renowned for its beer. You’ll have time to wander the historic centre, including the Old Town Square, the cathedral, the Plague Column and the Renaissance town hall. We then cross into Germany and follow part of the Romantic Road to Rothenburg, considered one of the country’s most beautiful villages. We continue to Frankfurt – Germany’s financial capital – arriving in the evening, where you’ll have free time in the historic centre to choose from restaurants serving Indian, Asian, Italian and international cuisines.
Day 4 - Frankfurt - Cologne - Amsterdam
From Frankfurt, we travel to the Rhine for a scenic cruise between Rüdesheim and St Goar – often regarded as the river’s most picturesque stretch. We then continue to Cologne, renowned for its immense Gothic cathedral, before heading on to the Netherlands and arriving in Amsterdam in the evening.
Day 5 - Amsterdam
We spend the morning discovering picture‑book Holland – first at Zaanse Schans, with its traditional wooden houses, canals and windmills, then in Volendam, a scenic fishing village. From Volendam we take a short boat across to Marken – once an island, now linked to the mainland by a fixed dyke – where houses were traditionally built on stilts to protect against flooding. Back in Amsterdam in the afternoon, we enjoy a guided tour that takes in a classic windmill view and the Rembrandt statue, the contemporary elegance of the South District, and the centuries old tradition of diamond cutting around Museum Square. The tour ends at Central Station, and your guide will share practical tips so you can keep exploring – you can follow the canals, browse street markets or relax in a café.
Day 6 - Amsterdam - Brussels - Paris
After breakfast, we set out for Belgium, covering just over 200 kilometres to reach Brussels – the Belgian capital and seat of major European institutions. Before entering the city centre, we’ll make a brief stop at the Atomium, Brussels’ most iconic landmark. In the historic heart we’ll admire the Grand Place – a masterpiece of Flemish Baroque – and stroll past the emblematic Manneken Pis. Brussels blends history, chocolate and modernity. In the afternoon, we continue into France, arriving in Paris towards the end of the day.
Day 7 - Paris
We visit the Palace of Versailles – admission not included – renowned for its magnificent gardens. Back in Paris, we explore Montmartre, the bohemian neighbourhood famous for its artists and cabarets, before a panoramic city tour with a local guide showcasing major avenues and iconic monuments. We then return to the hotel. In the evening, you can choose to attend a variety show.
Day 8 - Paris
We begin in central Paris with a visit to the Eiffel Tower – tickets are included for the second-floor viewing level. Afterwards, we enjoy a leisurely cruise on the Seine lasting about 1 hour 15 minutes. The afternoon is yours to explore at your own pace – the return transfer to the hotel is not included. Note: if waiting times at the Eiffel Tower are too long, we may reschedule the visit to a different time – or to Sunday – for your convenience.
Day 9 - Paris - Burgundy - Beaune - Lyon
We travel south from Paris into Burgundy, renowned for its vineyards and wines. Our first stop is Beaune, a charming town at the region’s heart known for its flower‑lined streets, historic hospice and wine museum. You’ll have free time for lunch and a stroll. We then continue to Lyon, the former capital of Roman Gaul on the banks of the Rhône. Its historic centre is a UNESCO World Heritage site. We take the cable car up to Notre‑Dame de Fourvière for panoramic views of the city, after which you’ll have time to explore at your own pace.In some cases, part of the group stays in Chambéry, near Lyon – in this instance we travel there in the evening for the overnight. The following morning, you’ll have time to visit this medieval style city, historically the capital of Savoy, with a beautiful historic centre and an impressive castle.
Day 10 - Lyon - Geneva - Zurich
Today we travel into Switzerland, arriving in Geneva – we pass the Palace of Nations, walk through the English Garden to see the flower clock, and admire the Jet d’Eau, the tallest fountain in Europe. After lunch, we continue along scenic lakeside roads by Lake Geneva and Lake Neuchâtel, crossing the Three Lakes region with views of vineyards and mountains. We stop in Neuchâtel, where you can walk by the lake, explore the historic town centre, or visit the 10th–century castle. We arrive in Zurich in the late afternoon. Note: Depending on group size, the Geneva–Zurich sector may be by train, in which case there is no stop in Neuchâtel.
Day 11 - Zurich
With our guide, we explore Zurich, Switzerland’s largest city and a leading financial and cultural centre, which has twice been recognised as the city with the best quality of life in the world. We then take a scenic cruise of nearly two hours on Lake Zurich, with brief stops to enjoy the villages along the shore, before disembarking in Rapperswil, a picturesque village renowned for its medieval castle. We return to Zurich by train – a straightforward way to experience the efficiency and punctuality of Swiss rail travel. Note: Depending on the number of travellers, transfers to and from the city centre may be by public transport.
Day 12 - Zurich - Lucerne - Zurich
From Zurich we travel into the Interlaken region for grand alpine scenery. Our first stop is Grindelwald, with time for a coffee before we ride the cable car up the mountain. At the top we follow a mountain path to a suspended bridge – those who wish can cross for wide views of the surrounding glaciers. We include lunch on the mountain – then descend and continue to Lucerne, regarded as one of Switzerland’s most attractive cities, where you’ll have free time to explore before we return to Zurich. An optional full day excursion is available – starting in the morning, and after some free time in Lucerne you can take the rotating cable car to the summit of Mount Titlis, over 3,000 metres above sea level, for panoramic views of the glacier and the Alps.
Day 13 - Zurich
After breakfast, the tour ends in Zurich – check out of the hotel and make your own arrangements for onward travel. We hope you leave with lasting memories of your journey.
