Itinerary
Day 1 - Kochi to Munnar
We pick you up from your hotel or the airport in Kochi and drive to Munnar – 130 km, approximately 3 hours. On arrival, we assist with hotel check–in and you have time to unwind and freshen up. Later in the afternoon, we visit a working tea estate to see the tea–making process from leaf to cup, followed by a tasting. We then continue to the Tea Museum to trace the history of tea production in South India and view vintage processing equipment and related artefacts. Overnight at your hotel in Munnar.
Day 2 - Exploring Munnar & Eravikulam National Park
After breakfast, we set out for a full day of sightseeing around Munnar. We begin at Pothamedu, taking in wide views of tea, coffee and cardamom plantations – a great spot for photos. We then continue to Mattupetty Dam and its serene reservoir, where we can stroll along the embankment and enjoy the calm mountain scenery.
Next, we head to Rajamala in Eravikulam National Park to explore its rich biodiversity and look out for the endangered Nilgiri tahr on the grassy slopes. Please note that Rajamala closes each year in March and April for the tahr calving season. We then pause at Attukal Waterfalls to admire the cascades amid lush greenery.
In the afternoon, we drive up to Top Station for sweeping views across the Western Ghats and the plains of Tamil Nadu. We also visit the Rose Garden to wander among neatly kept beds of colourful blooms. We round off the day at Echo Point – a fun spot to try out the natural echo and enjoy the lakeside setting. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 3 - Return to Kochi
After breakfast, you can take a final moment to enjoy Munnar’s calm mountain air before we check out and begin the journey to Kochi – around 130 kilometres and approximately 3 hours by road. The drive descends from the hills to the coast, with changing views as we travel. On arrival in Kochi, we will drop you at your hotel or at the airport for your onward plans, bringing your time in Munnar to a close.
