Set off from Dublin and return there seven days later – a week of Ireland’s hits with a relaxed pace and big scenery. You’ll take in Dublin’s Georgian streets and Trinity College, then roam grand Powerscourt Gardens, medieval Kilkenny and the storied Rock of Cashel. Down south brings colourful Cork and Kinsale, with Atlantic views from Charles Fort. In Killarney National Park enjoy a jaunting car ride and lake cruise to Ross Castle, before characterful Limerick. Expect living history at Bunratty Folk Park, the lunar Burren, the mighty Cliffs of Moher and lively Galway – plus serene Cong, Ashford Castle and the monastic ruins at Clonmacnoise.

Day 1 - Dublin
Welcome to Dublin. We arrange your transfer to the hotel – you have free time to settle in. In the afternoon you will receive information about the programme, either directly from our staff or via the notice board at hotel reception.
Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Dublin
We begin with a panoramic tour of Dublin, Ireland’s peaceful capital. We stroll along the River Liffey, pause in its parks, admire the historic university and the lively city centre, and view the exterior of Trinity College. The afternoon is free for you to explore at your leisure. Depending on our arrival time in Dublin and the daylight hours, this tour may operate the previous afternoon.
Day 3 - Dublin - Powerscourt - Kilkenny - Cashel - Cork
We depart Dublin for Powerscourt to visit its magnificent gardens laid out in the 18th century – admission included – with fountains, a Japanese garden and a small pet cemetery. We continue to Kilkenny, where you have time for lunch and a stroll around this lively town. Further south we stop to visit the impressive Rock of Cashel – admission included – a medieval fortress symbolising Ireland’s struggle against England. We arrive in Cork in the evening, with time for a walk in the city centre. Dinner is included.
Day 4 - Cork - Kinsale - Killarney - Limerick
We set off for Kinsale, pausing at Charles Fort to admire sweeping ocean views beside this fortress from the 17th century. You have time to explore Kinsale’s historic centre. We then travel to Killarney, where you have time for lunch and a wander. We enjoy a romantic jaunting car tour through the national park to Ross Castle, followed by a short cruise to soak up the lake scenery. We make a brief stop in Adare, which preserves stone cottages with thatched roofs and the ruins of an old abbey. By mid afternoon we arrive in Limerick – you have time to discover the city centre, visit the castle, walk by the river, see the cathedral or browse the shopping centre. Dinner is included.
Day 5 - Limerick - Cliffs of Moher - Galway
Today we visit Bunratty Folk Park – tickets included – where we learn about life in Ireland in the past among traditional cottages and old market scenes, and explore the castle that recreates medieval life. We continue to Caherconnell, where the Poulnabrone Dolmen is located, and we may be lucky enough to see dogs herding sheep. Afterwards we visit the dramatic Cliffs of Moher overlooking the ocean – admission included – with the option to walk to O’Brien’s Tower. Our route continues through Burren National Park, revealing striking landscapes, before we arrive in Galway.
Day 6 - Galway - Clonmacnoise - Dublin
We depart for Cong, a picturesque village in a beautiful lake district. We visit the ruins of the Royal Abbey and stroll around Ashford Castle, a stunning medieval castle now operating as a hotel. Next we travel to Clonmacnoise to visit the Celtic monastic ruins – tickets with guided tour included. Due to renovation works at Clonmacnoise, the visit may be shorter than usual. Afterwards we stop for lunch and a stroll in Athlone, then continue to Dublin, arriving in the evening.
Day 7 - Dublin
After breakfast our journey comes to an end – we hope you leave with wonderful memories.
