Day 1 - Rome
Welcome to Rome! Upon your arrival, we will be there to whisk you away to your hotel, ensuring a smooth transition into the start of your journey. Later in the day, our guide will meet with you to provide essential details about your itinerary, though you can also find this information on the sign located in the hotel reception area. As the evening unfolds, we'll take you to Via Cavour, a vibrant area offering an excellent introduction to the city. Here, you can choose from a delightful mix of dining options, ranging from Italian to Indian, Chinese, and international cuisines, setting the perfect tone for your exploration of Rome. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Rome
On our second day in Rome, we embark on a morning exploration of this extraordinary city with a three-hour guided tour. Our journey combines a walking excursion through the heart of Imperial Rome with a panoramic bus ride, helping us uncover the rich history of one of Western civilisation's most influential cities. We will visit notable sites such as the Arch of Constantine, the exterior of the Colosseum and the Imperial Forums, the Circus Maximus, the Baths of Caracalla, the Basilica of Saint Mary Major, the Pyramid of Cestius, and Castel Sant’Angelo. Our tour culminates at Vatican City around 11:00 a.m. Following this, you have the option to join an additional visit to the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel for further discovery at your own pace. As evening approaches, we'll take you to the lively Trastevere neighbourhood, renowned for its welcoming restaurants and vibrant atmosphere. The return to the hotel is scheduled for approximately 8:30 p.m.
Day 3 - Rome - Florence
Today, we bid farewell to Rome and set off northwards, taking in the picturesque scenery en route to Florence. Our first stop in this enchanting city will be the magnificent Piazzale Michelangelo, where panoramic views of Florence await. Following this, we journey into the historic centre, allowing some time for lunch and relaxation before embarking on a guided walking tour. With a local expert leading the way, we'll explore iconic sights such as the Ponte Vecchio, the majestic Duomo, and the bustling Piazza della Signoria. Florence is often referred to as an open-air museum, thanks to its rich history and stunning architecture. After our tour, you'll be free to continue exploring at your own pace. As evening descends, take advantage of the diverse dining options available, with an array of restaurants offering international cuisines.
Day 4 - Florence - Venice
Today, we embark on a journey through the breathtaking Apennine mountains as we make our way to Venice. Upon arrival, we'll take a scenic boat ride across the Giudecca Canal to reach the captivating Island of Venice. Here, a local guide will take us through the magnificent St. Mark's Square, a hub of Venetian culture and architecture. Our next stop is the Murano Glass Factory, where you'll witness the traditional methods behind the crafting of exquisite Murano glass. After the tour, you'll have the opportunity to explore Venice at your own pace. Tonight's accommodation is in the Mestre district, providing a convenient base for your Venetian adventure.
Day 5 - Venice - Innsbruck - Salzburg
We depart from Venice and journey to Austria, arriving in Innsbruck. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to wander through the enchanting historic city centre and enjoy a meal in the heart of the Tyrolean capital. After lunch, we continue our scenic drive through the picturesque mountain roads to reach Kitzbühel. You’ll have time to explore this charming village, renowned as a ski resort with year-round snow. Our adventure continues as we head towards Salzburg, where we arrive by the evening. Please note that should our group be smaller, we might travel by train from Venice to Innsbruck.
Day 6 - Salzburg - Lake Traunsee - Vienna
Our exploration of Austria continues as we delve into the heart of Salzburg, the birthplace of Mozart. The city’s Renaissance and Baroque charms are beautifully set against the backdrop of its imposing castle. After taking in the splendid sights, we journey through the enchanting Austrian landscape of lakes and mountains to St. Wolfgang, a significant pilgrimage destination. Our travels then lead us to Traunkirchen, situated on the shores of the picturesque Lake Traunsee. Here, we'll embark on an included cruise that showcases four of the lake’s historic castles, before arriving at Gmunden. As the daylight wanes, we continue our journey to Vienna, where we will arrive in the evening, ready to unwind and reflect on a day rich with Austrian culture and natural beauty.
Day 7 - Vienna
We start the day with a captivating panoramic tour of Vienna, guided by a local expert. We'll navigate the city's grand avenues, admire the beauty of its palaces, stroll through expansive parks, and revel in the vibrant energy of the city centre. The afternoon is yours to explore Vienna at your own pace. Discover its rich history, indulge in local cuisine, or simply soak up the atmosphere of this remarkable city. In the evening, we'll transfer you to the Grinzing district, which was once a serene wine-growing village before becoming part of Vienna. Here, you can dine at traditional taverns that offer a taste of the region's heritage. Enjoy your free time in this charming area before the night concludes.
Day 8 - Vienna - Budapest
After travelling for approximately three hours, we will arrive in Budapest, the vibrant capital of Hungary. Our initial stop will be the bustling area of Váci Utca, where you'll have time at your leisure to enjoy lunch. Subsequently, we’ll offer an inclusive boat trip on the scenic Danube River, with historic Buda on one side and the modern energy of Pest on the other – the views are simply breathtaking. Following this, we will embark on a guided panoramic tour of Budapest, often referred to as the "Queen of the Danube." You will have some additional free time afterwards to explore the city at your own pace. In the evening, there's an optional opportunity to attend a Magyar show, which includes dinner.
Day 9 - Budapest - Bratislava - Prague
We depart Budapest early, setting our sights on Bratislava, Slovakia's charming capital situated along the Danube River. With its delightful historic centre, it's an ideal spot to take a leisurely stroll and enjoy lunch. Later, we continue through picturesque landscapes towards the Czech Republic, reaching Prague in the evening. Here, we'll provide a convenient transfer to the vibrant Old Town Square. This bustling hub offers a splendid introduction to Prague's captivating atmosphere and is brimming with a variety of dining choices. Whether you fancy Czech, Chinese, Indian, Italian, or other international fare, you'll find an abundance of options for an enjoyable dinner. After soaking up the local vibe, we'll return you to your hotel for the night.
Day 10 - Prague
Our day in Prague promises a captivating exploration of the city's Baroque splendour, guided by a knowledgeable local expert. We start with a panoramic tour, showcasing the city’s most iconic landmarks. You'll have the opportunity to delve into the history of Prague Castle with an included visit. The morning's highlights continue with an included scenic boat ride along the Vltava River, offering a unique perspective of this enchanting city. Day 11 - Prague - Pilsen - Rothenburg - Frankfurt
On day eleven, we set off early from Prague, heading towards Pilsen in western Bohemia, a city celebrated for its renowned beer. You'll have some time to wander through its charming historic centre, where you can admire the Old Town Square, the impressive cathedral, the Plague Column, and the Renaissance-era town hall. Our journey then leads us across the border into Germany, where we will follow a section of the Romantic Road, renowned for its picturesque landscapes and quaint medieval towns. Our next stop is Rothenburg, a beautiful village that seems plucked straight from the pages of a fairy tale, and is often regarded as one of Germany's most enchanting places. After exploring Rothenburg, we proceed to Frankfurt, the financial powerhouse of Germany. Arriving in the evening, you will have free time to explore Frankfurt's historic city centre, where an array of restaurants offer diverse culinary options including Indian, Asian, Italian, and international dishes.
Day 12 - Frankfurt - Cruise on the Rhine - Cologne - Amsterdam
Today, we embark on a picturesque cruise along the Rhine, taking us through the enchanting stretch between Rüdesheim and St. Goar. This part of the river is renowned for its beauty, offering stunning views that capture the essence of Germany's charming countryside. Once we've soaked in the sights, we'll make our way to Cologne, where you can admire the grandeur of its immense Gothic cathedral. As the day's journey unfolds, we'll continue northwards, arriving in Amsterdam by evening, ready to discover the rich culture and vibrant atmosphere of the Netherlands.
Day 13 - Amsterdam
Today, we venture into the quintessential Netherlands, exploring its postcard-perfect landscapes. Our day begins in Zaanse Schans, renowned for its picturesque houses, canals, and iconic windmills. Next, we'll journey to Volendam, a charming fishing village full of character. From there, we'll enjoy a short boat ride to Marken. This enchanting village, previously an island, is now connected to the mainland by a dike, and its traditional houses, originally built on stilts for flood protection, offer a unique glimpse into local heritage.In the afternoon, we return to Amsterdam for a guided exploration. We'll take in various highlights, from the iconic windmill imagery and the statue of Rembrandt to the chic elegance of the South District. You'll also witness the timeless art of diamond cutting at Museum Square. Concluding our tour, we step off the bus and delve into the vibrant heart of the city. You'll have some free time to explore Amsterdam's beloved canals, bustling markets, and inviting cafés at your leisure.
