Itinerary
Day 1 - Amman
On arrival at Amman International Airport, we’re there to meet you and escort you into the city. We transfer you to your hotel to check in – a relaxed start to your Jordan journey.
Day 2 - Amman - Jerash
We drive north from Amman through rolling hills and traditional villages to Jerash – one of Jordan’s most impressive archaeological sites. In this remarkably well–preserved Greco–Roman city, we wander the oval Forum, pause at the ornate Nymphaeum and admire the grand Temple of Artemis overlooking the ruins. We then return to Amman for sweeping views from the Citadel, visiting the Temple of Hercules, the Umayyad Palace and a Byzantine church, before continuing to the Roman Theatre – a striking 2nd–century amphitheatre that still hosts cultural events. We round off the day with a street–food tasting in Downtown Amman, sampling favourites such as falafel, sweet kunafa and refreshing sugar–cane juice, and visit the Wild Jordan Centre to learn how it supports conservation and local communities while we relax over city views.
Day 3 - Amman - Madaba - Shobak - Petra
We travel to Madaba to discover its celebrated Byzantine mosaics, including the 6th–century Madaba Map in St George’s Church. We continue to Mount Nebo, where tradition says Moses looked upon the Promised Land, taking in wide views towards the Jordan Valley and Jericho and admiring the site’s restored mosaics and memorial church. Following the King’s Highway south, we pass deep wadis, olive groves and remote villages en route to Shobak Castle – a dramatic 12th–century Crusader fortress – exploring towers, gateways and hidden passages. We then drive on to Petra and the town of Wadi Musa, arriving at our hotel ready for tomorrow’s exploration. This evening in Petra, you can unwind, browse the shops or opt for Petra by Night for a magical introduction.
Day 4 - Petra - Wadi Rum
We walk through Petra’s dramatic Siq, tracing the ancient water channels as the canyon opens to the Treasury’s exquisite façade. We continue into the heart of the city to explore the Royal Tombs, the Roman amphitheatre and the colonnaded street, where Nabataean craftsmanship meets Roman influence. We climb the famous stone staircase to the Monastery for panoramic views across Wadi Araba, and we also hike up to the High Place of Sacrifice – challenging yet unforgettable. Later, we travel south into the spectacular landscapes of Wadi Rum and settle into our desert camp – you have free time to relax and soak up the otherworldly scenery.
Day 5 - Wadi Rum - Dead Sea
We set off on an adventurous jeep safari across the golden sands and beneath Wadi Rum’s towering cliffs. We meet local Bedouin hosts, walk with shepherds, try traditional crafts and share a freshly prepared meal in their desert camp. We then travel north to the Dead Sea, descending to the lowest point on Earth and checking in for a relaxing evening by the water. The next day, we float effortlessly in the mineral–rich waters, smooth on therapeutic mud and capture the classic newspaper photo. You have free time at the resort to unwind – relax by the shore, make use of the facilities or explore the tranquil surroundings at your own pace.
Day 6 - Amman
We drive from your Dead Sea resort to Amman’s Queen Alia International Airport, concluding your Jordan section and preparing for your onward flight. We fly from Amman to Dubai to begin the UAE part of your journey. On arrival at Dubai International Airport, we meet you after the formalities and transfer you into the city, passing part of the striking modern skyline en route. You have the rest of the day at leisure – settle into your hotel or take a first stroll nearby.
Day 7 - Jumeirah - Bastakia Quarter - Dubai Museum - Dubai Creek - Spice Souk - Gold Souk
We pause for photos at Jumeirah Mosque before exploring the Bastakia Quarter, where narrow lanes and restored wind–tower houses reveal a glimpse of old Dubai. At Al Fahidi Fort – now the Dubai Museum – we trace the city’s journey from a pearling and fishing centre to a modern metropolis. We cross Dubai Creek by traditional abra, then wander through Deira’s Spice Souk and the famous Gold Souk. We finish by ascending to the 124th and 125th floors of the Burj Khalifa for panoramic views over the city, the desert and the Gulf coastline.
Day 8 - Dubai - Dubai Creek
You have the day at leisure in Dubai – relax at the hotel or explore at your own pace. In the evening, we board a traditional wooden dhow for a dinner cruise along Dubai Creek, dining as the illuminated skyline glides by and enjoying live entertainment on board.
Day 9 - Dubai
You have free time in Dubai until departure – perhaps a final stroll or some last–minute shopping. When it’s time to leave, we arrange your transfer from your hotel to the airport for your flight home – the close of your Petra & Dubai journey.
