Day 1 - Nairobi to Amboseli National Park
Nairobi - Amboseli National Park. We collect you from your Nairobi hotel or the airport and travel to Amboseli National Park via the Nairobi–Mombasa highway. The drive crosses classic savannah country dotted with homesteads and Maasai herders tending their cattle.
On arrival, we head out on an afternoon game drive in this compact park at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro. Africa’s highest and the world’s highest free standing mountain, its snow-covered summit often forms a striking backdrop as we search for wildlife. You may see elephant, lion, cheetah, buffalo, giraffe, zebra, crocodile, mongoose, hyrax, kudu and nocturnal porcupine, along with prolific birdlife featuring around 600 species.
Day 2 - Tsavo West National Park
Amboseli National Park - Tsavo West National Park. We begin with an early morning game drive in Amboseli – weather permitting, the clouds may lift to reveal Mount Kilimanjaro and its snow capped peaks. We then depart for Tsavo West National Park, enjoying game viewing along the safari route. On arrival at the lodge we have lunch and a short rest.
In the afternoon we head out on game drives in search of rhino, elephant, giraffe, zebra, antelope, lion, wild dog and more. The park’s hilly, craggy terrain creates dramatic scenery and a strong sense of adventure.
Day 3 - Tsavo Game Drives & Return to Nairobi
Tsavo West National Park - Nairobi. We begin with an early morning game drive in Tsavo West, searching for predators and grazers. We then continue with an extra game drive and visit Mzima Springs, where crystal clear waters rise from underground to create an oasis in this dry region – a good place to see hippos at close range, crocodiles, exotic fish and both resident and migratory bird species. Later, we drive back to Nairobi.
