Masai Mara Camping Safari Explorer
New
Kick off in Nairobi and dive into three days of classic safari in the Masai Mara: sweeping savannahs, huge skies and unforgettable wildlife. Travel via the Great Rift Valley Viewpoint, then settle into a tented camp before heading out on game drives. You’ll visit the Mara River to look for hippos, search for the Big Five and, if timing’s right, witness the wildebeest on the move. Expect relaxed pacing – plenty of time in the bush, camp comforts and striking scenery – before returning to Nairobi with a camera full of favourites. Opt to enhance your trip with a balloon ride over the stunning landscape of the Mara.

Itinerary
Day 1 - Nairobi to the Masai Mara

Nairobi - Masai Mara. We collect you from your Nairobi hotel or the airport and drive to the Masai Mara – about five hours – with a brief stop at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint for sightseeing if weather allows.
We arrive at the tented camp in time for lunch, then head out on an afternoon game drive across the reserve to begin wildlife spotting. We search for the Big Five and plentiful plains game, including wildebeest.
If you've booked to add a balloon safari over the Masai Mara, this will take place over the next two days.
Day 2 - Masai Mara Full Day Safari

We spend a full day on game drives across the Mara’s rolling grasslands and open plains – a landscape that sees over two million wildebeest (gnus) migrate from the Serengeti with their calves. We also follow the Mara River to look for hippos along the banks. You can choose to visit a Masai village to learn about their traditional culture – this visit is optional.
Day 3 - Return to Nairobi

Masai Mara - Narok / Mai Mahiu - Nairobi. After breakfast, we check out and drive back to Nairobi via Narok town or Mai Mahiu, stopping for lunch en route. We expect to arrive at around 3:30 pm – we’ll drop you at your Nairobi hotel or transfer you to the airport.
