Itinerary
Day 1 - Into the Aberdare Highlands

We leave Nairobi this morning and travel by road to Aberdare National Park or Mount Kenya National Park, arriving in time for lunch. After lunch and high tea, we continue to The Ark Tree Lodge – set in forest on the slopes of the Aberdare Mountains at about 7,000 feet – for high altitude wildlife viewing.
The lodge’s viewing areas sit at different levels, so we can watch wildlife from outside, taking in the sights and sounds, or from indoors with a cup of tea where it is warm and cosy. Species often seen here include giant forest hog, bush pig, tree hyrax, large spotted genet and, with luck, the elusive bongo.
Day 2 - Sanctuary at Sweetwaters
We leave Aberdare National Park and travel to Sweetwaters in the secluded heart of the Ol Pejeta Ranch and Rhino Reserve – a protected sanctuary for rhino conservation. On arrival we check in to our tented camp.
Day 3 - Down to the Rift Valley and Lake Nakuru

We leave Sweetwaters after breakfast and drive to Lake Nakuru National Park in the Great Rift Valley, travelling with a packed picnic for lunch. After eating, we set out on an afternoon game drive – the park is renowned for plentiful wildlife.
Day 4 - Flamingos and Rhino at Lake Nakuru

After an early buffet breakfast at the lodge, we spend the morning exploring Lake Nakuru National Park with the chance to see flamingos alongside many of the park’s 350 recorded bird species.
The park is a sanctuary for both black and white rhinos and is also home to colobus monkeys, leopards, giraffes and a variety of plains antelope. After our morning in the park, we drive to nearby Lake Naivasha – carrying a picnic lunch to enjoy en route – and later head out for an evening boat ride on the lake.
Day 5 - Hell's Gate Gorge to the Masai Mara
After breakfast in Lake Naivasha, we drive to Hell’s Gate National Park. Once inside, you can choose how to explore – join a game drive in a safari vehicle, or cycle about 7 kilometres to the ranger’s post before continuing on foot for a short walking safari to the gorge.
After lunch, we travel by road to the Masai Mara National Reserve, part of the wider Serengeti plains and renowned for the Great Wildebeest Migration and the Big Five. We arrive at our lodge or camp in time for dinner.
Day 6 - Game Drives Across the Masai Mara

We spend a full day in the Masai Mara – one of the world’s great wilderness areas – with morning and afternoon migration game drives across the reserve. Wildlife is varied, abundant and often easy to spot – resident species include Masai giraffe, buffalo, impala, zebra, topi, and both Thomson’s and Grant’s gazelles.
Day 7 - A Second Day on the Mara Plains

We spend a full day in the Masai Mara with morning and afternoon game drives, scanning the plains for giraffe, lion, rhino, cheetah and elephant, with warthog families often providing lively moments.
Day 8 - Return to Nairobi
Masai Mara – Nairobi We begin with an early buffet breakfast at the lodge or camp, then check out and enjoy a final game drive as we exit the reserve. We continue by road to Nairobi, arriving in the late afternoon – a packed lunch is provided for the journey.
