Itinerary
Day 1 - Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Arusha - Tarangire National Park. Arrive in Arusha the day before the start of the tour. You will be picked up early this morning between 8:00 and 8:30 am from your accommodation.
We begin our safari adventure with a scenic drive from Arusha through the Tanzanian countryside toward Tarangire National Park, a wildlife-rich reserve known for its large elephant herds and classic African landscapes.
On arrival, we head straight into the park for our first game drive, exploring a mix of open plains, acacia woodland, and seasonal riverbeds. Tarangire is especially famous for its elephants, with herds of more than 300 animals often seen searching dry riverbeds for underground water during the dry season.
As we continue through the park, we look out for wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, and a variety of antelope species moving across the grasslands. The changing scenery and constant wildlife activity make this an exciting introduction to safari in Tanzania.
Tarangire is also home to an impressive range of birdlife, with hundreds of species found throughout the park. Even for those new to birdwatching, the colours, calls, and variety of birds seen here are hard to miss.
We stop for lunch surrounded by nature before continuing our afternoon game drive deeper into the park. With more opportunities for wildlife sightings and photography along the way, we spend the rest of the afternoon exploring this remarkable ecosystem.
In the early evening, we leave the park and transfer to our accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 2 - Into Serengeti National Park

Tarangire National Park - Serengeti National Park. Today, we embark on a journey from Tarangire National Park toward the world-famous Serengeti National Park, travelling through changing landscapes that gradually open into the vast grasslands for which the Serengeti is known.
As we arrive in this UNESCO World Heritage site, we enter one of Africa’s most celebrated wildlife regions and an important migration corridor. Depending on the season, we may witness part of the Great Migration, where large herds of wildebeest and zebra move across the plains in search of fresh grazing. These dramatic wildlife movements are among the most remarkable natural events on earth.
During our afternoon game drive, we explore the Serengeti’s immense wilderness, moving between open savannah, scattered acacia woodland, and rocky kopjes that provide shelter for many animals. Along the way, we search for lions resting in the shade, elephants crossing the plains, and leopards concealed among the trees.
As the sun sets over the savannah, we make our way to our lodge or camp in the heart of the Serengeti. After dinner, we relax for the evening surrounded by the sounds and atmosphere of the African wilderness.
Day 3 - Serengeti to Ngorongoro

Serengeti National Park - Ngorongoro Crater. We will begin the day with an early morning game drive in Serengeti National Park, when wildlife is often most active across the open plains. As the sun rises over the savannah, we explore this remarkable landscape in search of the animals that make the Serengeti one of Africa’s most celebrated safari destinations.
Throughout the morning, we look out for lions resting in the grass, giraffes feeding from acacia trees, gazelles moving across the plains, and elephant herds travelling through the savannah. If travelling during the Great Migration, we may also witness large herds of wildebeest and zebra stretching across the horizon as they move through the ecosystem in search of fresh grazing.
After lunch, we continue our journey toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Along the route, the scenery gradually changes from the wide-open plains of the Serengeti to the greener landscapes and higher elevations of the Ngorongoro Highlands.
By late afternoon, we arrive at our lodge or camp located near the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater. With sweeping views across this vast volcanic caldera, we enjoy dinner and a relaxing evening surrounded by the scenery of northern Tanzania.
Day 4 - Ngorongoro Crater Safari

Today, we will have an early start as we descend 600 metres into the Ngorongoro Crater, one of Africa’s most remarkable natural landscapes and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Surrounded by steep volcanic walls, the crater forms a unique ecosystem that supports an extraordinary concentration of wildlife.
As we reach the crater floor, we begin exploring its open grasslands, forests, and lakes in search of the animals that inhabit this natural sanctuary. In the cool morning hours, we may see lions resting in the grass, elephants moving across the plains, and zebra, wildebeest, and buffalo grazing across the crater floor.
Ngorongoro is also one of the best places in Tanzania to spot the endangered black rhino, and with some luck, we may witness these rare animals within their protected habitat.
Around midday, we stop for a picnic lunch inside the crater, surrounded by the scenery and wildlife of this extraordinary setting. After lunch, we continue our game drive, exploring more of the crater’s varied landscapes and searching for further wildlife sightings.
Later in the afternoon, we ascend the crater walls and return to our lodge or camp on the rim. This evening, we enjoy dinner and time to relax after an unforgettable day in one of Africa’s most iconic wildlife areas.
Day 5 - Lake Manyara and Return to Arusha
Ngorongoro Crater - Lake Manyara National Park - Arusha. After breakfast, we leave the Ngorongoro area and travel toward Lake Manyara National Park, set at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. Despite its relatively small size, the park is known for its varied landscapes, rich birdlife, and excellent wildlife viewing.
On arrival, we begin exploring the park’s forests, open grasslands, and lakeshore areas in search of its diverse wildlife. Lake Manyara is particularly famous for its tree-climbing lions, often seen resting in the branches of acacia trees - a rare behaviour not commonly observed elsewhere. We may also encounter elephants, giraffes, zebra, buffalo, and large troops of baboons moving through the forest.
The alkaline lake attracts a remarkable variety of birdlife, including thousands of flamingos gathering along the shoreline at certain times of year. With more than 400 bird species recorded here, the park is one of Tanzania’s most rewarding destinations for birdwatching.
We stop for a picnic lunch within the park before continuing our game drive through its varied scenery of woodland, wetlands, and lakeside plains.
Later in the afternoon, we begin our return journey to Arusha, arriving by late afternoon with unforgettable memories of Tanzania’s wildlife and landscapes.
