Itinerary
Day 1 - Tunis - Zaghouan
At 10:00, you are collected in Tunis and transferred to Zaghouan. We begin at Dar Zaghouan with a relaxing guided walk around the farm as a local expert shares the area’s history, landscapes and cultural heritage. Depending on the season, we take part in a practical workshop – perhaps a traditional distillation demonstration, a Kaak El Warka pastry session or baking Tabouna bread in a clay oven. We then enjoy a rich, flavourful Tunisian lunch prepared with fresh ingredients from the farm and nearby producers. After lunch, we explore the Temple des Eaux de Zaghouan, an impressive Roman monument that once supplied water to ancient Carthage. You have time to wander at your own pace and watch the sun set over the mountains – a serene, memorable moment. In the evening, we return to the farm for dinner and an overnight stay amid Zaghouan’s peaceful natural setting.
Day 2 - Zaghouan - Zriba Aliya - Tunis - Sidi Jedidi
After breakfast in Zaghouan, we depart for Zriba Olia (Zriba Aliya), a hilltop village famed for its stone houses and magnificent panoramic views. We take a walking tour through its narrow, winding lanes as we uncover the history, traditions and distinctive architecture of this ancient settlement. We continue to Sidi Jedidi, a peaceful rural area bordered by fertile fields, to visit Douar Laroussi and learn about traditional farming techniques and the richness of local produce. Lunch is served on site – an authentic meal prepared with fresh local ingredients and enjoyed in a warm, rustic rural setting. In the afternoon, we return to Tunis, arriving at approximately 15:00.
