Our journey then leads us to the magnificent Grand Canyon, one of the world's most awe-inspiring natural landmarks and a true icon of the American West. We arrive by mid-morning, with park entry fee included, and our guide takes us on our coach to explore the spectacular viewpoints of Bright Angel and Mather Point, each perched over 2,000 metres above the Colorado River. You have the option to enhance your experience with a scenic plane excursion. As the afternoon draws to a close, we proceed to our hotel for a well-deserved rest.
Day 3 - Flagstaff - Las Vegas
Following breakfast in Flagstaff, we set off towards Nevada, with a journey that takes us past the iconic Hoover Dam. While we won't be stopping, you'll have the chance to admire this engineering marvel from the comfort of the bus. We then pause for lunch, allowing some time to relax before continuing our drive back to Las Vegas, the vibrant city known for its dazzling lights and entertainment.
Day 4 - Las Vegas - Death Valley - Bakersfield
Following breakfast, we embark on an early journey across Death Valley, the largest national park in the USA, renowned for its dramatic and rugged landscapes. Our first stop will be the iconic Zabriskie Point, where you can capture stunning photos of the eroded landscapes shaped by ancient salt lakes. We'll then visit Badwater Basin, the lowest point in the United States, sitting 85 metres below sea level. Before we leave the park, we'll savour a traditional Far West lunch. Our adventure continues as we cross the central mountain range and travel alongside Lake Isabella, eventually reaching Bakersfield. Please note: Due to high temperatures and potential park closures from June to October, our route will take us through the historic Calico Ghost Town instead.
Day 5 - Bakersfield - Yosemite - Fresno
Today, we venture out from the arid landscape and make our way to the stunning Yosemite National Park, a breathtaking mountain region renowned for its remarkable natural beauty. Here, we will explore some of its most iconic landmarks, such as El Capitan, a towering granite monolith; the striking Half Dome; and the park's cascading waterfalls. You'll have free time to enjoy lunch and soak in the scenic surroundings at your own pace. After a day appreciating the majestic vistas of this world-famous park, we proceed to Fresno for our overnight stay.
Day 6 - Fresno - Sequoia National Park - Los Angeles
Today, we venture into one of the United States' most awe-inspiring forests as we explore the magnificent Sequoia National Park. Known for its towering giants, the park is home to the world's largest trees, the awe-inspiring sequoias. These colossal natural wonders stand as enduring symbols of the forest's ancient history. Our journey through the park allows us to take in the breathtaking landscape and appreciate the grandeur of these massive trees. By late afternoon, we continue our travels, arriving in Los Angeles where you’ll have the opportunity to unwind and reflect on the day’s adventures.
Day 7 - Los Angeles
Following breakfast, we embark on a panoramic tour of Los Angeles, a sprawling city teeming with diverse neighbourhoods and cultural landmarks. Our journey begins with visits to the music, civic, and financial centres, passing iconic spots such as LA Live and the Staples Centre.
