Itinerary
Day 1 - Welcome to Maui
Kahului - Kaanapali. Arrive at Kahului Airport (OGG), then take a taxi or Uber to our hotel in Kaanapali.
This evening, we’ll enjoy a welcome group dinner at a restaurant near our hotel, followed by the traditional sunset cliff diving ceremony at Black Rock by the Sheraton Maui – a celebrated local ritual honouring the legend of Maui.
Day 2 - Haleakala National Park & Iao Valley State Monument
Kaanapali - Haleakala National Park - Makawao - Iao Valley State Monument - Kaanapali. Today, we travel to Haleakala – the “House of the Sun” – to take in sweeping views from 9,740 feet above sea level. We’ll explore the red slopes of this dormant volcano, home to unique native plants, and keep a lookout for the endangered Nene, Hawaii’s state bird.
On our descent, we’ll stop for lunch in Makawao, a charming upcountry town with a rich ranching history and deep ties to Hawaii’s cowboy, or Paniolo, culture. If you’re in the mood for something sweet, you can visit Komoda Store & Bakery – well known for its cream puffs and doughnuts on a stick.
This afternoon, we visit the sacred Iao Valley State Monument. Surrounded by lush vegetation and dramatic peaks, we’ll take a short walk to the viewing platform for a spectacular view of the Iao Needle, a natural rock pinnacle rising from the valley floor. After a full day, we return to the hotel for a well-earned rest.
Day 3 - Hana Day Trip
Kaanapali - Hana - Kaanapali. Today we set out on a full-day journey to the laid-back town of Hana, one of Maui’s most iconic destinations. The drive itself is a highlight of the day. We follow the famous Road to Hana, a winding coastal route known for its dramatic scenery and over 600 curves. Along the way, we pass lush rainforest, cascading waterfalls and sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean. There are opportunities to stop, explore and, where conditions allow, take a refreshing swim beneath the falls.
Later, we celebrate Hawaii’s rich cultural heritage with a traditional imu ceremony, where we see how food is cooked in an underground oven - a practice rooted in ancient Polynesian tradition. We then enjoy a Hawaiian feast featuring roasted pork and a selection of local dishes. The experience continues with live entertainment, as we watch graceful hula performances and listen to the rhythmic beat of Polynesian drums, offering an insight into the storytelling traditions of the islands. Meals included: BL.
Day 4 - Molokini Cruise & Snorkelling
This morning we head to Maui’s south shore for a day on the water aboard Trilogy’s 54-foot sailing catamaran. As we cruise along the coast, we enjoy wide-reaching views of Kahoʻolawe and Lānaʻi. Breakfast and lunch are served on board as we make our way to Molokini Crater, one of Hawaii’s most popular snorkelling spots, known for its clear waters and abundant marine life. We then continue to a second snorkelling location, typically Turtle Town, where we may encounter Hawaiian green sea turtles in their natural habitat.
After time to relax back on shore, we come together in the evening for the Myths of Maui oceanfront luau on Kaʻanapali Beach. We are welcomed with a traditional shell lei greeting before witnessing an imu ceremony - an underground cooking method central to Hawaiian culture. We then enjoy a feast of local cuisine, accompanied by mai tais and other island cocktails. As the sun sets, the evening unfolds with hula dancing, the rhythmic beat of Polynesian drums and dramatic fire knife performances.
Day 5 - Maui to the Big Island
Kaanapali - Kahului - Kailua-Kona. After a relaxed breakfast, we check out of our hotel and make our way to the airport. Before our flight, we’ll stop at a nearby food truck for lunch (not included)
We then fly to the Island of Hawai‘i – the Big Island – to continue our adventure. This internal flight is included in the cost of your tour.
Upon arrival and after collecting our luggage, we head to Kona Joe’s Coffee for a tour of their locally owned coffee estate. Here, we’ll learn about the process of cultivating and roasting Kona coffee, with the chance to experience the craft first-hand. Afterwards, you’ll be transferred to the Royal Kona Resort, where the rest of the day and evening are yours to enjoy at your leisure.
Day 6 - Mauna Kea
This morning is free for you to relax and enjoy at your own pace - perhaps spend time by the beach or pool.
This afternoon, we set out on the Mauna Kea Summit and Stars experience, departing at 14:40 and returning at approximately 23:10. We travel up the slopes of Mauna Kea, the highest point in the Pacific, rising over 4,200 metres above sea level. Known for its exceptionally clear skies, the summit offers some of the best stargazing conditions in the world.
We pause to take in a remarkable sunset above the clouds, where the changing colours create a dramatic backdrop across the volcanic landscape. Dinner is served outdoors during this time, allowing us to fully enjoy the setting. As night falls, we continue with stargazing, observing the night sky in extraordinary clarity and gaining insight into the constellations visible from this unique location.
Day 7 - Volcanoes National Park Day Trip
Kailua-Kona - Volcanoes National Park - Kailua-Kona. We visit the world-famous Hawai‘i Volcanoes National Park, home to some of the most active volcanic landscapes on Earth. We begin with lunch at the Rim Restaurant, set within the historic Volcano House and overlooking the dramatic Kīlauea caldera.
Afterwards, we explore the park on a guided three-hour fat tyre e-bike tour. This allows us to cover more ground while taking in the unique terrain, from volcanic craters to hardened lava flows, with insights from our guide along the way.
We then continue to the town of Hilo, where you have around an hour to browse local shops or pick up a light snack. From here, we visit Rainbow Falls, an 80-foot waterfall set within a lush park - a short walk brings us to the viewing area, where rainbows can often be seen in the mist.
On our return journey to the resort, we stop in Waimea for dinner at The Fish and the Hog, a well-regarded local restaurant known for its island flavours and relaxed atmosphere.
Day 8 - Catamaran Cruise
This morning we set out from Kona for a 4.5-hour sailing and snorkelling adventure, departing at 08:30. We board a 65-foot catamaran and cruise along the Big Island’s coastline, with excellent chances of spotting dolphins and other marine life along the way.
A continental breakfast is served on board as we make our way to our snorkelling site, where we have time to explore the clear waters and vibrant underwater world. Lunch is also included and enjoyed on board before we return to shore at around 13:00.
The afternoon and evening are free for you to relax at the hotel or explore at your own pace. Dinner is at your leisure.

Enjoy your final full morning and afternoon on the island at your leisure. It’s the perfect opportunity to relax, explore or simply take in the last moments of your Hawaiian adventure.
