
Greek Islands Summer Exploration
Explore the Cyclades and Crete on this nine-day tour from Mykonos to Heraklion. The tour begins in Mykonos, wandering the whitewashed streets of Chora before continuing to the traditional village of Ano Mera and some of the island's most scenic beaches. A hydro boat crossing continues on to Santorini, where the Red Beach's lava cliffs, the Minoan ruins of Akrotiri and Oia's caldera sunset all feature. The final stop is Heraklion on Crete, home to Koules fortress, the Venetian old town and the Minoan Palace of Knossos, the largest of its kind on the island. The tour ends in Heraklion.

Day 1 - Arrival in Mykonos
Upon arrival at Mykonos Airport or port, we will meet you and transfer you to your hotel for check-in. The afternoon is yours to enjoy at leisure.
Take the opportunity to explore the cosmopolitan island by wandering through the whitewashed streets of Chora, the capital town. You may choose to dine at a local taverna or enjoy your first cocktail at one of the waterfront beach bars (own expense). Overnight in Mykonos.
Day 2 - Chora, Ano Mera and the Beaches of Mykonos

After a hearty breakfast, we suggest beginning your exploration of Mykonos by visiting some of its iconic landmarks. Discover the church of Panagia Paraportiani, the Town Hall, and the castle overlooking the harbour. Take time to explore the Archaeological, Folklore and Maritime Museums to gain insight into the island’s rich history. Wander through the pedestrianised streets of Chora, with Matoyianni Street standing out for its designer boutiques, charming cafés and stylish restaurants.
Along the vibrant waterfront, admire the colourful reflections of fishing boats and visit the Kazarma building, once the residence of Manto Mavrogenous, a heroine of the Greek Revolution. Later, we will visit the traditional village of Ano Mera, where the central square, local cafés and the Monastery of Panagia Tourliani with its unique icon of the Virgin Mary showcase authentic island life. We continue to some of Mykonos’s renowned beaches – Kalafatis, Agios Stefanos and Agios Giannis – offering stunning views of Delos before returning to the hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 3 - Mykonos to Santorini by Hydro Boat
After breakfast at your hotel, we transfer you to Mykonos port to board the hydrofoil to Santorini. Upon arrival, you will be met and taken to your hotel to check in and settle. The evening is yours to explore this remarkable island at your own pace. Santorini’s unique blend of history and natural beauty offers plenty to discover and enjoy. Overnight in Santorini.
Day 4 - Beaches and Ancient Akrotiri

After a hearty breakfast, begin your day by visiting some of Santorini’s remarkable beaches. Head to the southern coast to explore the striking Red Beach, where vivid red lava cliffs meet the clear blue sea, creating a unique landscape. Nearby, take the opportunity to visit the White Beach, known for its contrasting pale cliffs.
Later, explore the archaeological site of Akrotiri, a significant Minoan settlement preserved under volcanic ash, offering valuable insight into ancient civilisation on the island. Conclude your day with dinner at one of the local restaurants nearby, where fresh fish and traditional dishes are served (own expense). Overnight in Santorini.
Day 5 - Sunset Over Oia
Begin the day with a leisurely breakfast at the hotel before enjoying a relaxed day to recharge. In the evening, make your way to Oia village, perched atop a dramatic cliff, to witness one of the world’s most stunning sunsets, with panoramic views over the volcano and the island of Thirassia.
After the sun dips below the horizon, descend to Ammoudi Bay for a romantic dinner at a restaurant of your choice (own expense). Alternatively, you may wish to join a sunset cruise from one of the island’s harbours to experience the breathtaking colours from the water (not included). Overnight in Santorini.
Day 6 - Santorini to Heraklion by Hydro Boat
After a hearty breakfast, we transfer you to Santorini port to board the hydrofoil to Heraklion. Upon arrival, you will be met and taken to your hotel for check-in and to settle in. The remainder of the day is yours to enjoy at leisure in Heraklion, allowing you to explore the city at your own pace or simply relax. Overnight in Heraklion.
Day 7 - Heraklion's Old Town and Beaches

After breakfast at your hotel, enjoy a full day at leisure to explore Heraklion at your own pace. Wander through the city and discover landmarks such as the Koules fortress overlooking the Venetian harbour, the Turkish and Venetian fountains, and the Venetian Loggia.
Visit the Archaeological Museum, the Historical Museum or the Museum of Natural History to gain insight into the region’s rich past. If you prefer a more relaxed day, head to the nearby beaches along the northern and southern coasts, including the former hippie haven of Matala, as well as Agia Pelagia and Malia. Overnight in Heraklion.
Day 8 - The Minoan Palaces of Knossos and Phaistos
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before exploring Heraklion’s rich history and art. Visit the Minoan Palace of Knossos, the largest Minoan palace, where colourful frescoes, striking red columns and the throne room offer a vivid glimpse into ancient civilisation. Alternatively, explore the Palace of Phaistos, the second most significant Minoan site, set on Kastri hill amidst a beautiful natural landscape.
You may choose to visit one or both sites. For a more in-depth experience, an optional private tour of Knossos is available, including three hours of private taxi transport and an English-speaking guide (minimum two participants). Entrance fees are included; meals and drinks are not. Overnight in Heraklion.
Day 9 - Departure from Heraklion
After breakfast at your hotel, you will be transferred to Heraklion Airport or Port for your onward flight. We hope you leave with lasting memories of your journey. Wishing you a safe and pleasant onward trip.
