Itinerary
Day 1 - Shanghai - Huang Pu Qu
On arrival at Shanghai airport or railway station, you will be greeted by an English-speaking guide who will accompany you to your private transfer into the city. The journey to your hotel takes approximately one hour. Once settled in, you may choose to rest and enjoy the hotel’s facilities or, if you prefer, take a leisurely stroll through the nearby streets to soak up the city’s distinctive atmosphere. Overnight in Shanghai.
Day 2 - Shanghai - Huang Pu Qu
After breakfast, we will collect you from the hotel lobby at around 8:30 for a full day of sightseeing in Shanghai. Our first stop is Yu Garden, a classical garden dating back to the Ming Dynasty (1368–1644). Built by government officer Pan Yunduan as a peaceful retreat for his parents, the garden remains a serene example of traditional Chinese landscaping. Surrounding Yu Garden is the bustling old bazaar, where you can browse a variety of souvenirs including local foods, crafts, and jewellery. Next, we visit Jade Buddha Temple, established in 1882 to house two jade Buddha statues brought from Burma by the monk Huigen. Although the original temple was destroyed during the revolution that ended the Qing Dynasty, the statues were saved and a new temple was constructed on the current site in 1928. After lunch at a local restaurant, we continue to Nanjing Road – China’s premier shopping street stretching 5.5 kilometres from the Bund to Jing’an Temple. It is a vibrant hub for fashion and commerce. Finally, we explore the Bund, Shanghai’s iconic waterfront along the Huangpu River, where historic architecture meets the city’s modern skyline. We return to the hotel by approximately 18:30 for your overnight stay.
Day 3 - Shanghai - Huang Pu Qu
After breakfast at the hotel, enjoy a full day at your leisure in Shanghai. You may choose to explore the city’s highlights, go shopping, or simply relax and make use of the hotel’s facilities. Alternatively, you can join one of the optional full-day excursions (not included). The Zhujiajiao Water Town tour begins with a 9:00 pick-up and visits this well-preserved ancient town, often called Shanghai’s Venice, with a history spanning over 1,700 years. After lunch at a local restaurant, we take a 30-minute cruise on a traditional wooden boat before returning around 17:00. The Suzhou excursion starts at 8:00 with a visit to the Humble Administrator’s Garden, a Ming Dynasty private garden, followed by the Lingering Garden, noted for its Qing-style architecture. After lunch, we visit Panmen City Gate, the world’s only well-preserved water-and-land city gate, then enjoy a 45-minute cruise along the Suzhou Grand Canal. The tour concludes at approximately 18:00. The Tongli Water Town tour also begins at 8:00, exploring this ancient town with over 1,000 years of history near Taihu Lake. Following lunch, we take a 30-minute wooden boat cruise before finishing around 18:00. Overnight in Shanghai.
Day 4 - Shanghai - Huang Pu Qu
After breakfast, you will check out of the hotel. At the arranged time, we will transfer you to Shanghai airport or railway station to continue your onward journey.
