Day 1 - Amman
On arrival at Amman International Airport, we meet and welcome you, then transfer you to your city hotel to check in and begin your Jordan adventure.
Day 2 - Amman - Jerash - Amman Citadel - Roman Theatre - Wild Jordan Centre
We drive north from Amman through rolling hills and traditional villages to reach Jerash, one of Jordan’s most impressive archaeological sites. In this remarkably well‑preserved Greco–Roman city, we stroll through the sweeping Oval Forum, pause at the elegant Nymphaeum and admire the grand Temple of Artemis gazing over the ruins.Back in the capital, we visit the Amman Citadel – home to the remains of the Temple of Hercules, the Umayyad Palace and a Byzantine church – taking in panoramic views across downtown as we explore the city’s layered history. We then discover the Roman Theatre, a 6,000–seat amphitheatre from the 2nd century AD that still hosts cultural events and stands as a striking reminder of Amman’s ancient architecture.We round things off with a street‑food tasting in Downtown Amman, sampling favourites such as falafel, sweet kunafa and refreshing sugar cane juice – dishes vary by day but always showcase authentic Jordanian flavours. We also visit the Wild Jordan Centre, an eco‑friendly space supporting nature conservation and local communities, where we relax with views over the city and learn how the centre promotes sustainable tourism and rural livelihoods.
Day 3 - Mount Nebo - Shobak Castle - Amman - Petra - King’s Highway
We visit the Greek Orthodox Church of St George in Madaba, home to the celebrated 6th–century mosaic map of the Holy Land – one of Jordan’s most significant Byzantine treasures. We continue to Mount Nebo, where tradition holds that Moses viewed the Promised Land, taking in sweeping vistas towards the Jordan Valley and Jericho and seeing the site’s beautifully restored mosaics and memorial church. We then explore Shobak Castle, a dramatic 12th–century Crusader fortress perched high on a mountainside, with towers, gateways and hidden passages offering panoramic views over the surrounding valleys. Finally, we travel south along the historic King’s Highway – past olive groves, deep wadis and rural villages – as we make our way towards Petra.
Day 4 - The Siq - The Treasury - Petra - Wadi Rum - Royal Tombs - Roman Amphitheatre
We walk through Petra’s dramatic Siq, a narrow sandstone canyon leading into the ancient Nabataean capital – noting the historic water channels carved into the rock and the terracotta pipes that once carried water – a spectacular approach to the city’s iconic monuments. We visit the world‑famous Treasury, its stunning façade carved into rose‑red cliffs, and hear about its Nabataean design, cultural significance and the legends surrounding its purpose.We explore the monumental Royal Tombs carved high into the sandstone, whose grand façades showcase the wealth and craftsmanship of the Nabataeans, then continue along the ancient colonnaded street – once the commercial heart of the city – where columns, shops and public buildings line a broad avenue. We also visit the Roman amphitheatre, hewn largely from the rock and later expanded by the Romans, a striking blend of Nabataean and Roman design set prominently at the centre of the site.We travel south from Petra into the spectacular landscapes of Wadi Rum. At our desert camp, you have free time to relax and unwind, taking in the unique scenery – a peaceful evening surrounded by towering cliffs.
Day 5 - Wadi Rum - Dead Sea
We set out on an adventurous 4x4 jeep safari across the golden sands and beneath the towering cliffs of Wadi Rum. We join local Bedouin hosts for an authentic cultural experience – learning about desert traditions and sharing a freshly prepared meal in their camp. We then travel north to the shores of the Dead Sea, the lowest point on Earth, passing striking desert scenery and mountain vistas before arriving at our resort for a relaxing evening by the water. We float effortlessly in its mineral‑rich waters – unwinding at the resort, smoothing on the therapeutic mud and capturing the classic newspaper photo as we drift. You have free time at the Dead Sea to linger by the shore, make the most of the hotel’s facilities or explore the tranquil surroundings at your own pace.
Day 6 - Cairo
We transfer you from Amman to Queen Alia International Airport for your outbound flight. We provide assistance before departure, then fly from Amman to Cairo on a direct international service. All airport transfers at both ends are included. On arrival at Cairo International Airport, we meet and assist you with formalities and luggage, followed by a comfortable transfer to your city hotel. Settle in and take your first glimpses of Cairo as you travel through its lively streets, then enjoy some leisure time to relax, explore local cafés or simply soak up the city’s vibrant atmosphere.
Day 7 - Giza - Cairo - Aswan
We stand in awe before the Great Pyramids of Giza – the last remaining Wonder of the Ancient World – learning about their construction and the pharaohs who built these monumental tombs. We then marvel at the enigmatic Great Sphinx, guarding the plateau with its lion’s body and human face – one of Egypt’s most enduring symbols.We pause for a delicious serving of Egypt’s national dish, koshary – a hearty blend of lentils, rice, pasta, chickpeas and tangy tomato sauce – for an authentic taste of local life. We continue to the Egyptian Museum, home to one of the world’s greatest collections of ancient artefacts, including treasures from the tomb of Tutankhamun.In the evening we board the overnight train to Aswan from Ramses Station in Cairo, settle in and enjoy the rhythmic journey along the Nile Valley as Egypt’s landscapes unfold by night.
Day 8 - Aswan
We arrive in the serene riverside city of Aswan, where the Nile flows wide and calm. We sail across the river to the magnificent Philae Temple – dedicated to the goddess Isis – an atmospheric island sanctuary with intricate carvings and tranquil surroundings that speak of ancient devotion. We then journey along the Nile on a relaxing sail to a traditional Nubian village, where we spend the night at a guesthouse in Nubian style. Here we discover vibrant mud‑brick homes painted in bold colours, meet welcoming locals and experience authentic hospitality that reflects centuries of culture along the river.
Day 9 - Aswan
We board a traditional felucca and glide downstream along the Nile, taking in serene views of banks lined with palms and timeless Nubian scenery. The unhurried pace and billowing sail capture the essence of life on Egypt’s great river. As evening falls, we settle in for a peaceful night on deck – drifting beneath a canopy of stars – and wake to the quiet rhythms of the river at first light.
Day 10 - Edfu - Luxor - Aswan
We wake to the Nile’s gentle breeze and enjoy a tranquil morning sail on the felucca – desert hills and palm‑lined banks drifting by as life on the river slowly awakens. We then explore the magnificent Temple of Horus at Edfu, one of Egypt’s best‑preserved ancient temples, whose towering columns and intricate reliefs showcase superb Ptolemaic craftsmanship. Afterwards, we travel along the scenic Nile Valley to Luxor, passing fertile farmlands and small riverside villages along this historic route.
Day 11 - Luxor - Cairo
We explore the legendary Valley of the Kings, resting place of Egypt’s greatest pharaohs, including Tutankhamun, stepping inside exquisitely painted tombs that illuminate beliefs about the afterlife and royal power. We admire the striking mortuary temple of Queen Hatshepsut – set beneath dramatic cliffs – its graceful terraces honouring her reign and divine legacy.We discover Deir el–Medina, the ancient village of the artisans who built and decorated the royal tombs, where beautifully preserved wall paintings and modest workers’ homes reveal the daily life of Egypt’s master craftsmen. We also pause at the towering Colossi of Memnon – twin statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III that have watched over the Theban Necropolis for more than 3,000 years – a breathtaking photo stop amid Luxor’s open‑air history.In the evening we board the overnight seater train from Luxor to Cairo and travel in comfort as the rhythmic sound of the rails carries us north, with dinner and breakfast served on board while the timeless Egyptian landscape slips by.
Day 12 - Cairo
We arrive back in Cairo this morning and transfer to our hotel. You have the rest of the day at leisure – relax, explore local cafés or soak up the city’s vibrant streets before continuing your journey.
Day 13 - Cairo
You have some leisure time in Cairo – relax, linger in local cafés or wander the city’s vibrant streets at your own pace. Later, we arrange your transfer from your Cairo hotel to the airport for your departing flight – a fitting finale to a memorable journey through Egypt.
