Day 1 - Paris
On arrival in Paris, we’ll transfer you to your hotel where you’ll have some free time to settle in. In the afternoon, you’ll find useful information about the tour’s starting details displayed on the notice boards at the hotel reception. This provides a helpful guide to what’s ahead and ensures you’re well-prepared for the journey.
Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour.
Day 2 - Paris
We begin the day with a visit to the Palace of Versailles, renowned for its remarkable gardens and significant place in French history (admission not included). On our return to Paris, we explore Montmartre, a distinctive bohemian district famous for its artistic heritage and cabarets. To complete our day, we take a panoramic tour of Paris with a local guide, passing through its grand avenues and viewing iconic landmarks across the city. After the tour, we return to the hotel. In the evening, those interested can opt to attend a variety show.
Day 3 - Paris
We begin the day in central Paris with a visit to the iconic Eiffel Tower. We’ll ascend to the second floor of this renowned iron landmark, with tickets included. Following this, we’ll enjoy a soothing boat cruise along the Seine lasting approximately one hour and fifteen minutes, providing a unique perspective of the city’s famous sights from the water. The afternoon is free for you to explore Paris at your own pace—please note that transfers back to the hotel are not included. If wait times at the Eiffel Tower are excessive, we may reschedule the visit to a different time or day to ensure a smoother experience.
Day 4 - Paris - Burgundy - Beaune - Lyon
Today we travel to the heart of France, passing through the Burgundy region—celebrated for its picturesque vineyards and exceptional wines. Our first stop is Beaune, a charming town at the centre of Burgundy known for its flower-lined streets, historic hospice, and wine museum. You’ll have some free time to enjoy lunch and explore on foot. We then continue to Lyon, the former capital of Roman Gaul, situated on the banks of the Rhône River. Lyon’s historic centre is a UNESCO World Heritage site. We’ll take a cable car to Notre-Dame de Fourvière for a panoramic view of the city, followed by some free time to explore at your leisure. Please note, occasionally part of the group stays overnight in Chambéry, near Lyon; if so, we’ll travel there in the evening. The following morning, you’ll have time to visit this medieval-style city, known for its attractive historic centre and impressive castle.
Day 5 - Lyon - Geneva - Zurich
Today, we travel from Lyon into Switzerland, arriving in Geneva where we will pass by the Palace of Nations, the European headquarters of the United Nations. We will explore the English Garden, famed for its flower clock, and admire the Jet d?Eau, Europe's tallest fountain. After lunch, we continue through the Swiss countryside, following scenic routes along Lake Geneva and Lake Neuch?tel. We'll journey through the Three Lakes region, known for its striking vineyards set against mountain backdrops. In Neuch?tel, you'll have the opportunity to stroll by the lake, visit the historic town centre, or see the impressive 10th-century castle. Our day concludes in Zurich, where we arrive late in the afternoon. Depending on passenger numbers, the segment from Geneva to Zurich may be by train, in which case the stop in Neuch?tel will be omitted.
Day 6 - Zurich
We begin the day with a guided tour of Zurich, Switzerland’s largest city and its financial and cultural centre. Known for its banking industry, Zurich has been recognised twice as the city with the best quality of life worldwide. Afterwards, we set off on a scenic cruise on Lake Zurich lasting nearly two hours, with short stops at charming lakeside villages along the way. Our cruise ends at Rapperswil, a picturesque town famed for its medieval castle. We then return to Zurich by train, giving you a chance to experience the renowned Swiss rail system’s efficiency. Transfers to and from the city centre may be by public transport, depending on group size.
Day 7 - Zurich - Lucerne - Zurich
Today’s journey takes us through some of Switzerland’s most striking landscapes, marked by towering mountains and crystal-clear lakes. We begin in the Interlaken region, stopping in the charming village of Grindelwald for a coffee break. Then, we take a cable car up the mountain to follow a winding path leading to a suspended bridge. For those feeling adventurous, crossing the bridge offers impressive views of the surrounding glaciers. Lunch is included on the mountain before we descend. In the afternoon, we travel to Lucerne, one of Switzerland’s most picturesque cities, where you’ll have time to explore and enjoy the delightful cityscape at your leisure. We return to Zurich in the evening. There is also an optional full-day excursion available, starting in the morning, which includes some free time in Lucerne followed by a rotating cable car ride to the summit of Mount Titlis. At over 3,000 metres high, the alpine peak provides spectacular views of glaciers and the Alps.
Day 8 - Zurich - Bellinzona - Como - Milan
We depart Zurich early this morning, crossing the Alps into Switzerland’s Italian-speaking region. Our first stop is Bellinzona, famous for its trio of medieval castles perched on the hills, recognised as UNESCO World Heritage Sites. These fortresses reflect Bellinzona’s historic role as a key alpine stronghold. You’ll have free time to stroll through the charming town centre before we continue into Italy. In Como, known as the jewel of Lombardy, we pause for lunch beside the lake, where you can admire beautiful gardens and the impressive cathedral. Afterwards, we travel to Milan, where our guide will introduce you to the striking Piazza del Duomo. You’ll have some time to explore the area independently before we transfer to the hotel to rest for the evening.
Day 9 - Milan - Pisa - Rome
Today, we travel from Milan to Pisa. Upon arrival, we’ll take a small tourist train to Piazza dei Miracoli, where you’ll have time to admire one of Italy’s most remarkable art complexes, including the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa. After exploring, we continue to Rome, arriving later in the day.
Day 10 - Rome
In the morning, we’ll take a three-hour guided tour of Rome that combines a walking exploration of the key sites of Imperial Rome with a panoramic bus ride to see some of the city’s most iconic landmarks. Highlights include the Arch of Constantine, the exterior of the Colosseum, the Imperial Forums, Circus Maximus, the Baths of Caracalla, the Basilica of Saint Mary Major, the Pyramid of Cestius, and Castel Sant’Angelo. The tour concludes at Vatican City around 11:00 a.m., where there is an optional visit to the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel for those who wish to join. Later, we’ll arrange a transfer to the lively Trastevere neighbourhood, known for its inviting restaurants and vibrant atmosphere. You’ll have time to enjoy the evening there before returning to the hotel at approximately 8:30 p.m.
Day 11 - Rome - Florence
We’ll leave Rome this morning and travel north through the scenic Italian countryside. Upon arriving in Florence, we’ll head straight to Piazzale Michelangelo for spectacular panoramic views of the city’s iconic skyline. From there, we’ll take a guided walk through the historic centre, visiting notable landmarks such as the Ponte Vecchio, the Duomo, and Piazza della Signoria. After the tour, you’ll have some free time to explore Florence at your own pace. In the evening, the district offers plenty of dining options, with a wide variety of restaurants serving international cuisines.
Day 12 - Florence - Venice
We’ll travel through the Apennine Mountains, enjoying their stunning scenery, before arriving in Venice. From there, we’ll take a boat across the Giudecca Canal to the island itself. With a local guide, we’ll explore the remarkable St. Mark’s Square before visiting the Murano Glass Factory to see traditional glassblowing techniques in action. You’ll then have some free time to wander and soak up Venice’s unique atmosphere at your leisure. Tonight, we’ll stay in the Mestre district.
Day 13 - Venice - Innsbruck - Salzburg
We leave Venice and travel to Austria, arriving in Innsbruck. Here, you’ll have time to stroll through the historic city centre and enjoy lunch in the Tyrolean capital. Afterwards, we’ll continue along scenic mountain roads to Kitzbühel, a charming village known as a popular ski resort where snow is often present year-round. You’ll have some free time to explore before we complete the day’s journey to Salzburg, arriving by evening. If the group is small, this section of the trip may be by train from Venice to Innsbruck.
Day 14 - Salzburg - Lake Traunsee - Vienna
We begin the day with a guided exploration of Salzburg, the birthplace of Mozart. The city’s Renaissance and Baroque architecture is set beneath the imposing fortress that dominates the skyline. Afterwards, we travel through scenic landscapes of lakes and mountains to reach St. Wolfgang, a well-known pilgrimage destination in Austria. Continuing on, we arrive in Traunkirchen on the tranquil shores of Lake Traunsee. Here, we enjoy a included boat cruise to admire four of the lake’s historic castles before disembarking at Gmunden. From there, we make our way to Vienna, arriving in the evening.
Day 15 - Vienna
We’ll begin the day with a guided panoramic tour of Vienna, exploring its grand avenues, elegant palaces, expansive parks and lively city centre. In the afternoon, you’ll have some free time to discover the city at your own pace. As evening falls, we’ll provide a transfer to the Grinzing district, a historic wine-growing area now within the city, famed for its traditional taverns. You’ll be free to enjoy dinner in this atmospheric neighbourhood.
Day 16 - Vienna
After breakfast, your tour concludes, leaving you with lasting memories of your journey.
