Day 1 - Paris
Welcome to Paris! Upon your arrival, we will arrange your transfer to the hotel, where you can unwind and enjoy some leisure time. In the afternoon, we'll provide you with all the details you need to kick-start your tour, either in person or via information signs prominently displayed at the hotel reception. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Paris
On the second day of our adventure in Paris, we delve into French history at the magnificent Palace of Versailles. While admission is not included, the gardens alone offer a breathtaking glimpse into regal opulence. Upon our return to the city, we explore Montmartre, a lively bohemian district renowned for its artistic heritage, featuring painters and vibrant cabarets. To gain a deeper appreciation of Paris, a local guide will lead us on a panoramic city tour, showcasing the city's grand avenues and iconic landmarks. We then return to our hotel, where you have the opportunity to enjoy an optional variety show in the evening, should you wish to further immerse yourself in the local culture.
Day 3 - Paris - Rouen
We will begin our day in the heart of Paris with a visit to the iconic Eiffel Tower, where you'll have the chance to ascend to the second floor of this renowned landmark—tickets are included in your itinerary. Following this, we'll embark on a leisurely boat cruise on the Seine, offering a different perspective of the city. The afternoon is yours to explore Paris at your own pace. At 4:00 p.m., we will depart for Normandy, arriving in the historic city of Rouen. Once in Rouen, you'll have free time to wander the city's ancient streets, discover its medieval architecture, and visit the impressive Gothic cathedral, all testament to its Roman roots and vibrant past. Please note, if wait times at the Eiffel Tower are excessive, we may adjust our schedule to ensure your convenience, potentially revisiting at a later time or on Sunday.
Day 4 - Rouen - English Channel - Canterbury - London
On day four, we will begin with a leisurely stroll through the historic heart of Rouen. This charming city, rich with medieval architecture, offers a glimpse into the past with its streets and Gothic cathedral. After soaking in the sights, we will journey north through France and cross the English Channel by ferry. Our destination is Canterbury, known as the spiritual centre of England, where its enchanting historic centre awaits your exploration. Continuing our trip, we will proceed to London, arriving at the famous Tower Bridge area. Here, you'll have some free time to wander around one of the city's most iconic landmarks before we head to our hotel for the night.
Day 5 - London
We begin our day in London with a guided panoramic tour, immersing ourselves in the city's rich tapestry of culture and history. We'll explore iconic landmarks such as the Houses of Parliament, the River Thames, and Buckingham Palace. Depending on your travel dates, you might even witness the Changing of the Guard, a quintessentially British spectacle. In the evening, we'll regroup at a designated meeting point in Piccadilly for a leisurely walk through the lively streets of Leicester Square, Chinatown, and Soho. These areas are famed for their vibrant atmosphere, theatres, and a myriad of entertainment choices. You'll have ample options for dinner from the diverse selection of restaurants before we make our way back to the hotel.
Day 6 - London - Colchester - Colchester - Volendam Ferry
We begin our morning with a visit to the British Museum, one of the oldest museums in the world, where we will explore artefacts from a myriad of global cultures. After some free time for lunch, we head to Camden, famed for its lively and diverse street market. Here, you can wander among stalls offering unique products and savour lunch from one of the eclectic food stands or small restaurants. By about 4:00 p.m., our journey continues to Colchester, England's oldest recorded town. Stroll its historic streets and soak up the atmosphere before we proceed to Harwich. There, we'll board a ferry for an overnight crossing to the Netherlands, with accommodation in en suite cabins. Please note, due to the limited availability of ferry cabins, our itinerary may be altered to either a daytime ferry journey to Amsterdam, staying overnight in Antwerp, or a train or flight to Amsterdam instead.
Day 7 - Colchester - Volendam Ferry - Volendam - Amsterdam
We arrive in the Netherlands at around eight in the morning, docking at Hoek van Holland. Our first stop is Volendam, a quaint and picturesque fishing village known for its traditional Dutch charm. After soaking up the atmosphere, we continue our journey to Amsterdam. Upon arrival, we embark on a guided tour, exploring the city's distinct highlights. We'll encounter the iconic windmill and the Rembrandt statue, appreciate the modern elegance of the South District, and experience the centuries-old art of diamond cutting at Museum Square. Our tour concludes with a stroll through the bustling city centre, after which you will have free time to further explore Amsterdam at your own pace.
Day 8 - Amsterdam - Hamelin - Berlin
We begin our journey today by departing from Amsterdam and heading towards Germany. Our first stop is the picturesque town of Hamelin, famous for its association with the Brothers Grimm fairy tale, the Pied Piper of Hamelin. Here, you'll find charming shops and quaint streets that capture the essence of the story. After exploring Hamelin, we continue our journey towards Berlin, travelling through Marienborn, a historically significant location that once marked the border between East and West Germany until reunification in 1990. We will arrive in the vibrant city of Berlin in the evening, where you can unwind and prepare for the adventures that await.
Day 9 - Berlin
Today, experience the vibrant culture of Berlin, the fascinating capital of Germany, with the guidance of a knowledgeable local. As we navigate the city by coach, you'll encounter some of Berlin's most notable sites, including Museum Island, the towering Television Tower, the central shopping streets, and the ruins of the old cathedral, a reminder of World War II's impact. We'll pass through the historic Brandenburg Gate and the Reichstag, experiencing the blend of history and modernity that defines Berlin, and explore the city's expansive parks. Our tour includes poignant stops at the Holocaust Memorial and the Berlin Wall Memorial Museum – powerful sites that commemorate a complex past. After a morning of discovery, the afternoon is yours to explore Berlin at your own pace. As the evening approaches, we'll regroup and head to Kantstrasse, an area brimming with life and activity.
Day 10 - Berlin - Dresden - Prague
Our journey today takes us through scenic forests to the historic city of Dresden, celebrated for its extraordinary architectural and artistic treasures. In Dresden, you'll have the opportunity to explore its impressive palaces and enjoy a leisurely lunch at one of the many inviting restaurants or charming coffee shops. Later, we'll set off for the Czech Republic and arrive in captivating Prague. We'll take you to the vibrant Old Town Square, offering a lively atmosphere packed with tourist activities, making it the perfect introduction to this beautiful city. Here, you can dine at a variety of restaurants, sampling international cuisines including Czech, Chinese, Indian, and Italian dishes. After soaking in the bustling energy of Prague, we'll make our way back to the hotel for the night.
Day 11 - Prague
Today, we delight in the captivating allure of Prague, often regarded as the Baroque jewel of Europe. Our day begins with an insightful panoramic tour conducted by a knowledgeable local guide, who will showcase the city's most remarkable landmarks. We will visit Prague Castle, a historical gem offering fascinating insights into the city's past – admission is included in your tour. Following the castle visit, we will embark on a scenic boat ride along the Vltava River, allowing you to appreciate Prague from its beautiful waterways. The afternoon is yours to explore at your own pace, offering the perfect opportunity to delve deeper into the vibrant culture and stunning architecture of this enchanting city.
Day 12 - Prague - Munich - Innsbruck
We'll depart early for a scenic journey into Bavaria, Germany, where we arrive in Munich by midday. You will have the afternoon to wander the historic city centre and savour a spot of lunch. Our travels then take us across the border to Austria and into the heart of the Alps. In Innsbruck, the capital of Tyrol, you'll have ample time to explore this charming city. As the evening unfolds, dine in the enchanting Golden Roof area and the Old Town, a perfect end to a day steeped in alpine allure.
Day 13 - Innsbruck - Zurich
Begin the day with a visit to the Swarovski Crystal Worlds, a dazzling attraction dedicated to the renowned crystals. You’ll have the chance to explore the marvellous gardens and discover the meticulous crafting process of these exquisite pieces. Afterwards, take some time to roam and absorb the Tyrolean charm at your leisure. We then set off for Zurich, enjoying the picturesque Alpine landscapes en route. Once in Zurich, spend your evening in the city's charming old town, nestled by the lake. You’ll find a wide range of dining options here, offering cuisines such as Indian, Oriental, Italian, International, and of course, Swiss.
Day 14 - Zurich - Lucerne - Zurich
Today's journey takes us through some of the most breathtaking Swiss landscapes, featuring towering mountains and pristine lakes. We'll start our day exploring the Interlaken region, known for its picturesque scenery. Our first stop is Grindelwald, where we'll enjoy a coffee break before ascending the mountains by cable car. At the top, there's a winding path leading to a suspended bridge – for those who dare to cross, the views of the surrounding glaciers are truly spectacular. Lunch will be enjoyed on the mountain (included), after which we return to continue our travels.Next, we head to Lucerne, a city renowned for its beautiful setting and charming cityscape. You'll have ample time to wander and soak in the sights at your leisure. To conclude our day, we’ll return to Zurich, where the option of an extended, full-day excursion is available. This includes a visit to Mount Titlis via a revolving cable car, offering awe-inspiring views of the glacier and surrounding Alps from over 3,000 metres above sea level.
Day 15 - Zurich - Bellinzona - Como - Milan
Today, we commence our journey from Zurich, crossing the picturesque Alps to reach the Italian-speaking region of Switzerland. Our first destination is Bellinzona, famed for its trio of medieval castles – recognised as UNESCO World Heritage Sites. These impressive fortifications, perched majestically on the hills, underscore Bellinzona's strategic importance as a crucial alpine stronghold. You'll have free time to explore the charming streets of Bellinzona's centre, immersing yourself in its rich history.Our adventure then continues as we cross into Italy, stopping in the enchanting town of Como for lunch. Como, a true gem of Lombardy, captivates visitors with its stunning lakeside gardens and magnificent cathedral. After lunch, we proceed to Milan, where our guide will lead us to the striking Piazza del Duomo. Here, you can take some time to wander through the vibrant surroundings before we head to your hotel for the evening.
Day 16 - Milan - Pisa - Rome
Our day begins with a visit to Pisa, where we will take a charming tourist train to the famed Piazza dei Miracoli, or the Square of Miracles. Here, you'll have a chance to admire one of Italy's most celebrated artistic complexes, which includes the iconic Leaning Tower of Pisa. Once you've explored these stunning sights, we will continue our journey to Rome, reaching the Eternal City later in the day.
Day 17 - Rome
On our seventeenth day in Rome, we will embark on a comprehensive three-hour guided exploration of this ancient city, known as the Eternal City. Our tour will start with a walking excursion through Imperial Rome, followed by a panoramic bus journey that captures the essence of one of Western civilisation's most pivotal cities. We will visit several iconic sites, including the Arch of Constantine, view the exterior of the mighty Colosseum and the historic Imperial Forums. The tour will continue to showcase the Circus Maximus, the impressive Baths of Caracalla, and the majestic Basilica of Saint Mary Major. We'll also observe the distinctive Pyramid of Cestius and the formidable Castel Sant'Angelo. Our tour will conclude around 11:00 a.m. at Vatican City, where you have the option to delve deeper with a guided visit to the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel. Later in the day, as the evening sets in, we'll provide a transfer to Trastevere. This vibrant neighbourhood is renowned for its welcoming restaurants and lively atmosphere, offering a delightful place to enjoy dinner and soak in the local culture. We'll return to the hotel by approximately 8:30 p.m.
Day 18 - Rome - Florence
As we bid farewell to Rome, we embark on a scenic journey north. Our destination is Florence, where we'll first stop at Piazzale Michelangelo for a sweeping view of the city’s striking skyline. We then make our way to the bustling historic centre. After taking time for lunch, a local expert will lead us on a walking tour, revealing the treasures of this open-air museum including the Ponte Vecchio, the majestic Duomo, and the vibrant Piazza della Signoria. Later, you’ll have the opportunity to explore Florence at your leisure. The evening invites you to dine at one of the many restaurants, offering a variety of international cuisines, in this charming district.
Day 19 - Florence - Venice
Today, we venture through the breathtaking landscapes of the Apennine Mountains, heading towards Venice. Upon arrival, we will cross the Giudecca Canal by boat, reaching the enchanting Island of Venice. Here, a local guide will lead us to the iconic St. Mark’s Square, a quintessential Venetian marvel. Following this, we'll explore the renowned Murano Glass Factory, where the art of glassmaking has been perfected over centuries. You’ll witness firsthand the captivating process of crafting these traditional works of art. After our guided visits, you are free to roam the charming streets at your own pace, soaking in the unique atmosphere of this one-of-a-kind city. For the night, we’ll be staying in the Mestre district, providing convenient access for further exploration.
Day 20 - Venice
On our final day in Venice, enjoy a leisurely breakfast before we conclude this remarkable journey. Reflect on the beautiful memories you've made throughout this adventure, filled with cultural discoveries and breathtaking sights.
