Day 1 - Paris
Welcome to Paris! Upon your arrival, we'll arrange a transfer to your hotel, where you can unwind and enjoy some leisure time. In the afternoon, you'll receive essential details regarding the commencement of your tour, either directly from our team or from the information signs available at the hotel reception. Please be aware that the tour group may have members joining or leaving at different stages of our journey, but we always ensure the group size remains within our set limits. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Paris
On our second day in Paris, we'll delve into France's illustrious history with a visit to the splendid Palace of Versailles. While the admission is not included, you'll have the opportunity to explore its renowned gardens, a testament to the grandeur of French royal opulence. Following our return to Paris, we’ll explore Montmartre, a delightful bohemian quarter celebrated for its vibrant arts scene, featuring artists, painters, and historic cabarets. To capture the essence of Paris, we will embark on a panoramic city tour guided by a knowledgeable local, highlighting the city’s impressive boulevards and iconic landmarks. Afterward, we’ll make our way back to the hotel. For those interested in experiencing more of Paris, there's an optional variety show available in the evening.
Day 3 - Paris - Rouen
Our day begins in the vibrant heart of Paris with a visit to the iconic Eiffel Tower, allowing you the opportunity to ascend to its second floor – tickets are included. Following this, we'll take a leisurely cruise along the picturesque Seine River, providing a unique perspective of the city. The afternoon is yours to explore Paris at your leisure, whether you choose to wander its charming streets, visit a museum, or simply relax in a café. Later in the day, at around 4:00 p.m., we will depart for Normandy, arriving in the historically rich city of Rouen. Here, you'll have free time to wander the historic centre, marvelling at the medieval architecture and the stunning Gothic cathedral, which reflect Rouen's Roman origins and vibrant past. Please note: if the wait times at the Eiffel Tower are excessive, we may reschedule the visit for a more convenient time, possibly on Sunday.
Day 4 - Rouen - English Channel - Canterbury - London
Today begins with a leisurely walk through the charming centre of Rouen, a city steeped in history and home to beautiful medieval architecture. Following our visit, we will travel northwards through France, ultimately reaching the English Channel. Here, we will board a ferry to cross over to England. Arriving in Canterbury, you'll have the opportunity to explore this city, renowned as the religious capital of England and celebrated for its picturesque historic centre. Our day concludes as we continue our journey to London, where you will have some free time to explore the area around Tower Bridge – one of the city's most iconic landmarks – before we make our way to the hotel.
Day 5 - London
Today, we delve into London’s rich history and vibrant culture with a panoramic tour led by a local guide. We’ll take in iconic landmarks such as the Houses of Parliament, the River Thames, and Buckingham Palace, where you might catch the famous Changing of the Guard, depending on the schedule. As evening approaches, we'll meet in Piccadilly for a gentle stroll through Leicester Square, Chinatown, and Soho. These areas are known for their lively atmosphere, with numerous theatres and entertainment venues. You'll have plenty of options for dining before we regroup and return to the hotel.
Day 6 - London - Colchester - Colchester - Volendam Ferry
We begin today with a visit to the British Museum, one of the oldest museums in the world, showcasing an extraordinary collection of artefacts from diverse cultures across the globe. After some free time during lunch, we head to Camden, a district famous for its lively and eclectic street market. Here, you can browse through an array of distinctive goods and enjoy a meal at one of the cosy restaurants or street food stalls. In the afternoon, approximately at 4:00 p.m., we depart for Colchester, renowned as the oldest recorded town in England. Enjoy a leisurely stroll through its historic streets before we continue to Harwich. Here, we embark on an overnight ferry to the Netherlands, staying in comfortable en suite cabins. Please note that due to limited cabin availability, the itinerary might be altered. This could involve travelling from London to Amsterdam via a daytime ferry with an overnight stay in Antwerp, or alternatively, opting for a train or flight to Amsterdam.
Day 7 - Colchester - Volendam Ferry - Volendam - Amsterdam
We begin our day at around 8 a.m., disembarking in the Netherlands at Hoek van Holland. Our first stop is the quaint fishing village of Volendam, known for its charming harbour and traditional Dutch culture. Following our visit, we proceed to Amsterdam, where we'll embark on a guided tour of this vibrant city. Witness the iconic sight of the famous windmill, see the statue of Rembrandt, and experience the modern allure of the South District. You'll also get a glimpse into the age-old craft of diamond cutting at Museum Square. We'll then conclude our bus tour and continue on foot, exploring the bustling heart of Amsterdam. Afterward, you'll have free time to wander the city at your leisure and explore its many attractions.
Day 8 - Amsterdam - Hamelin - Berlin
As we leave Amsterdam, our journey takes us into Germany, with our first stop in the enchanting town of Hamelin. This charming destination is famed for the Brothers Grimm's fairy tale, "The Pied Piper of Hamelin," and boasts quaint shops and cobblestone streets that bring the story to life. We then proceed towards Berlin, with our route taking us through Marienborn, the site of the former border that once divided East and West Germany until reunification in 1990. We arrive in Berlin by evening, ready to explore this vibrant city.
Day 9 - Berlin
Today, we delve into the heart of Berlin, Germany's dynamic capital, accompanied by a knowledgeable local guide. Our tour offers a panoramic view from our coach, covering the city's rich tapestry of history and culture. You'll see Museum Island and the Television Tower, as well as the bustling shopping streets and the remains of the old cathedral, a poignant reminder of World War II's impact. We'll also pass through the iconic Brandenburg Gate, visit the Reichstag, and enjoy glimpses of Berlin's expansive parks.We'll pause to visit two significant landmarks: the Holocaust Memorial and the Berlin Wall Memorial Museum. These sites offer a moving insight into Germany’s turbulent past and are pivotal to understanding the country's history in the 20th century. Following this, the afternoon is yours to wander and discover Berlin at your own pace. Later, we'll transport you to the vibrant Kantstrasse district, where you can explore its lively atmosphere and perhaps enjoy a meal in one of the many restaurants, curating the perfect end to your day.

After enjoying breakfast, our journey concludes in Berlin, leaving you with a wealth of cherished memories from your travels.
