Day 1 - Paris
Welcome to Paris! Upon your arrival, a transfer will take you to your hotel. You’ll have some leisure time to settle in and enjoy the city's vibrant atmosphere. Later in the afternoon, we'll provide you with details about the commencement of your tour, either in person or via information available at the hotel reception. Bear in mind that this tour accommodates travellers joining or leaving at different stages, so the group dynamic may change, though it will always stay within the set maximum size. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Paris
Today, we delve into the opulence of French history with a visit to the Palace of Versailles. Though the entrance fee is not included, you may explore the renowned gardens that epitomise the grandeur of French aristocratic life. Upon our return to Paris, we head to Montmartre, a lively and bohemian district celebrated for its artistic roots, bustling cabarets, and historical charm. To further appreciate the magnificence of the city, we embark on a scenic tour with a local guide, highlighting Paris’s grand boulevards and its landmark monuments. As the day concludes, we'll return to the hotel. In the evening, should you wish, you have the option to attend a variety show, adding a vibrant touch to your Parisian experience.
Day 3 - Paris - Rouen
Our day begins in the heart of Paris with a visit to the iconic Eiffel Tower. You can ascend to the second floor of this renowned iron structure, with tickets included as part of our itinerary. Following this, we will enjoy a leisurely cruise along the River Seine, offering a unique perspective of the city's landmarks. The afternoon is yours to savour at your own pace, exploring the wonders of Paris independently. Around 4:00 p.m., we'll depart the bustling capital and make our way to the picturesque region of Normandy, arriving in the historic city of Rouen. Here, you'll have some free time to wander through the ancient streets of its city centre, rich in history dating back to Roman times. Rouen is renowned for its medieval architecture and the splendid Gothic cathedral that dominates the skyline, providing a captivating insight into the region's cultural heritage. Please note, if there are long queues at the Eiffel Tower, we may adjust the schedule to ensure a more convenient visit time.
Day 4 - Rouen - English Channel - Canterbury - London
This morning, enjoy a leisurely stroll through the charming centre of Rouen. We will then continue our journey through northern France, catching a ferry across the English Channel. Upon arrival, we'll reach Canterbury, famed as England's religious capital and renowned for its quaint historic heart. Our adventure proceeds to London, where you'll have some free time to explore around the iconic Tower Bridge before we retreat to the hotel.
Day 5 - London
Explore the vibrant city of London with us on a captivating panoramic tour guided by a knowledgeable local. You'll experience the city’s rich culture and history as we take in legendary landmarks including the iconic Houses of Parliament, the Thames River, and the majestic Buckingham Palace. Depending on the date, you might even witness the ceremonial Changing of the Guard there. In the evening, you can join us in Piccadilly for an amble through the bustling streets of Leicester Square, Chinatown, and Soho. Known for their lively ambience, these areas offer an array of theatres and entertainment choices. You'll find numerous dining options for dinner before we return to the hotel for some rest.
Day 6 - London - Colchester - Colchester - Volendam Ferry
On the morning of our sixth day, we visit the British Museum, one of the earliest museums known worldwide, showcasing diverse cultural artefacts from across the globe. Following some free time for lunch, we head to Camden, a district famed for its eclectic street market and vibrant atmosphere. You can meander among its unique stalls and enjoy a meal at one of the numerous eateries. At approximately 4:00 p.m., we depart for Colchester, the oldest recorded town in England, where you can enjoy a leisurely stroll along its historic streets. From Colchester, we continue to Harwich to embark on an overnight ferry journey to the Netherlands, comfortably accommodated in en suite cabins. Do keep in mind that due to limited cabin availability on the ferry, alternative travel arrangements may be made. This could involve travelling from London to Amsterdam via a daytime ferry (with an overnight stay planned in Antwerp), or travelling by train or flight to Amsterdam.
Day 7 - Colchester - Volendam Ferry - Volendam - Amsterdam
Upon arriving in the Netherlands around 8 a.m. at Hoek van Holland, we'll make our way to Volendam, a charming fishing village known for its picturesque scenery. From there, we continue our journey to Amsterdam. Here, a guided tour will reveal the city's diverse highlights—admire a classic windmill, observe the elegance of the South District, and witness the centuries-old craft of diamond cutting at Museum Square. Our tour concludes with a stroll into the vibrant heart of Amsterdam, after which you'll have free time to explore this fascinating city at your leisure.
Day 8 - Amsterdam - Hamelin - Berlin
Today, we set off from Amsterdam to explore Germany's enchanting landscapes. Our journey takes us first to Hamelin, a quaint German town steeped in folklore, where its charming streets evoke the tales of the Pied Piper, immortalised by the Brothers Grimm. Continuing on our route, we pass through Marienborn, a historic site that once marked the division between East and West Germany until reunification in 1990. By evening, we arrive in Berlin, ready to delve into the vibrant culture and history of Germany's capital city.
Day 9 - Berlin
Discover the vibrant city of Berlin, Germany's captivating capital, on a comprehensive tour led by a knowledgeable local guide. From the comfort of our coach, you'll have the opportunity to see key landmarks such as Museum Island, the towering Television Tower, some of the city's busiest shopping streets, the architecturally significant Brandenburg Gate, and the historic Reichstag. We'll also pass the old cathedral, a poignant reminder of the devastation wrought by World War II. Our tour will include stops at the Holocaust Memorial and the Berlin Wall Memorial Museum—two significant sites that shed light on Germany's complex 20th-century history. Day 10 - Berlin - Dresden - Prague
Today, we journey through lush forests towards Dresden, a city celebrated for its architectural and artistic treasures. This gem of Germany boasts many impressive palaces and has become one of the country's premier destinations. You'll have time to explore some of its remarkable attractions and savour lunch at one of its numerous eateries and cosy cafés. Later, we proceed to the Czech Republic, arriving in the vibrant city of Prague. In the evening, we make our way to the Old Town Square, a bustling hub brimming with energy and activities. It's the perfect place to experience Prague for the first time. Choose from a variety of dining options offering international cuisines, including Czech, Chinese, Indian, and Italian, before we return to the hotel.
Day 11 - Prague
Our day unfolds in the enchanting city of Prague, often celebrated as the Baroque gem of Europe. We'll begin with a guided panoramic tour led by a knowledgeable local, showcasing the city's most remarkable architectural wonders. During our exploration, we'll visit the historic Prague Castle, where your admission is included. Following this, we'll embark on a delightful boat ride along the picturesque Vltava River, also included in your day. The afternoon is yours to enjoy at leisure, allowing you time to wander through Prague's charming streets and discover its cultural treasures independently.
Day 12 - Prague - Munich - Innsbruck
We set off early for Bavaria, Germany, arriving in Munich by midday. Here, you'll have the opportunity to wander through the historic city centre and enjoy some lunch. In the afternoon, we continue our journey into Austria, reaching Innsbruck, the capital of Tyrol, nestled in the heart of the Alps. You'll have free time to explore the city's quaint streets and perhaps enjoy a meal in the beautiful Golden Roof area or the charming Old Town.
Day 13 - Innsbruck - Salzburg
Our day begins with a visit to the renowned Swarovski Museum, where we’ll delve into the world of exquisite crystals and explore the impressive gardens. After immersing ourselves in the sparkling artistry, you'll have the opportunity to wander through Innsbruck’s historic centre at your leisure. Following this, we will journey through breathtaking mountain roads until we arrive in Kitzbühel, a charming Tyrolean town famous for its ski resort, where snow blankets the landscape nearly year-round. This town is celebrated for hosting the prestigious Hahnenkamm Race, one of the most thrilling events in the alpine skiing world. As our day draws to a close, we will reach Salzburg, where you can unwind and prepare for further exploration.
Day 14 - Salzburg - Lake Traunsee - Vienna
We'll delve deeper into Austria today, starting with Salzburg, the enchanting city famed as Mozart's birthplace. Surrounded by majestic mountains, its Renaissance and Baroque architecture beckons exploration. Next, we journey through picturesque lakes and mountains, arriving in St. Wolfgang, a celebrated pilgrimage destination. Continuing to Traunkirchen by Lake Traunsee, we'll embark on a scenic cruise, admiring four castles along the serene waters before disembarking in Gmunden. Our day concludes with an evening arrival in the grand and historic city of Vienna.
Day 15 - Vienna
Today, we will delve into the captivating city of Vienna with a panoramic tour guided by a local expert. We'll admire its grand boulevards, magnificent palaces, expansive parks, and vibrant city centre. After our tour, the afternoon is yours to explore Vienna at your leisure. In the evening, we'll transport you to the charming district of Grinzing, once a quaint wine-growing village and now a delightful part of the city. Known for its traditional taverns, Grinzing offers a wonderful opportunity to savour local cuisine, with plenty of time for dinner before returning.
Day 16 - Vienna
