Day 1 - Munich
Welcome to Munich, the gateway to your German adventure. Although today has no scheduled activities, the city offers a rich tapestry of experiences to explore at your own pace. You might choose to wander through the historic Marienplatz, the heart of Munich, where the iconic Glockenspiel captivates visitors. For beer enthusiasts, a visit to a traditional beer garden, such as the one in the English Garden, offers a delightful introduction to Bavarian culture. Whether you stroll through the city's charming streets, sample local cuisine, or simply relax and soak in the vibrant atmosphere, Munich sets the perfect tone for the journey ahead. Settle into your accommodation and enjoy the rest of your day exploring as you wish before our tour officially commences tomorrow. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Munich - Fussen - Rothenburg - Frankfurt
On the second day of our adventure, we set off from Munich, surrounded by stunning alpine landscapes, as we make our way to Füssen, home to the iconic Neuschwanstein Castle. We'll proceed by bus to Mary's Bridge, where we can enjoy spectacular views of the gorge below. From here, you have the option to return at your own pace, either on foot or by horse carriage (please note, the horse carriage ride is not included).Our journey continues along the famous Romantic Road, leading us to Rothenburg. This charming, walled city is a true delight, and while here, we will explore the captivating Christmas Museum, with entry included in our tour. Afterwards, we will make our way to Frankfurt, recognised as the financial hub of Germany, where we conclude our lively day of travel.
Day 3 - Frankfurt - Cruise on the Rhine - Cologne - Dortmund
Today, our adventure takes us through the stunning landscapes of the Rhine and Moselle Valleys, regions steeped in history and peppered with delightful villages. We start with a brief yet captivating cruise along the Rhine, navigating the picturesque stretch between Rüdesheim and Sankt Goar. The scenery here is some of the most charming you'll encounter, with vineyards and castles lining the riverbanks. Following our cruise, we proceed to the Moselle River, where we'll pause for lunch in Cochem, a quaint village nestled alongside the Rhine and dominated by its impressive castle, which has stood for over a thousand years. After our visit, we journey on to Cologne. Here, you have the opportunity to explore the city's remarkable Gothic cathedral. Towering at 154 metres, it held the title of the world's tallest building until the late 19th century. You might choose to meander along the Rhine River or wander through the bustling city centre. We conclude our day by heading to our hotel in Dortmund. Please note that during fairs or congresses, accommodation may be arranged in a nearby city.
Day 4 - Dortmund - Fairy Tale Route - Hannover
Today, we embark on a captivating journey along the renowned Fairy Tale Route, inspired by the enchanting stories of the Brothers Grimm. Our adventure begins in Trendelburg, a charming, fortified village where we’ll visit the grand medieval castle and the iconic Rapunzel Tower – admission is included. As we continue along picturesque roads, we'll travel through dense forests reminiscent of the famed Hansel and Gretel tale.Our next stop is Höxter, a lively town where we’ll break for lunch and explore Corvey Abbey, a historic 9th-century monastery and recognised World Heritage Site – entry is included. We then proceed to Polle to explore the romantic ruins of Cinderella's Castle, with admission covered by our itinerary.Our day of stories concludes in Hamelin, celebrated for the fabled Pied Piper tale. We'll trace the legendary mouse tracks before moving onwards to Hannover, where you'll have the opportunity to enjoy a leisurely stroll near the historic town hall. Please note, during fairs or conferences, accommodation may be arranged in a neighbouring city, and Corvey Abbey remains closed from November to February.
Day 5 - Hannover - Goslar - Gottingen - Bad sooden-allendorf - Eisenach
After breakfast, we embark on a journey to the historic Rammelsberg Mines near Goslar, a place steeped in industrial history and recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. As we visit the museum, you'll gain an insight into the enduring legacy and everyday life of miners throughout the ages. Our exploration brings us next to Goslar itself, a town celebrated for its stunning medieval old town, featuring enchanting half-timbered buildings, cobbled streets, and the impressive Church of St. Peter, all contributing to its UNESCO status.Continuing our journey, we head to Göttingen, a lively university hub once home to the Brothers Grimm. Here, you'll have the opportunity to savour lunch amid the charming backdrop of its historic centre. In the afternoon, we traverse the Thuringian region, with a stop in the serene spa town of Bad Sooden. Nestled in wooded hills, its authentic timber-framed architecture and tranquil ambiance offer a moment of relaxation.Our day concludes in Eisenach, a town rich in both Baroque and Renaissance architecture. Here, you can delve into the past with visits to the Bach House, the birthplace of composer Johann Sebastian Bach, and Luther's House, pivotal in Martin Luther's life. A delightful dinner is included, wrapping up our day filled with historical discovery and cultural richness.
Day 6 - Eisenach - Gotha - Erfurt - Leipzig
We begin our day at the iconic Wartburg Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site perched above the town of Eisenach. With tickets included in our visit, you’ll have the chance to explore this historic fortress where Martin Luther famously translated the New Testament into German. Enjoy the spectacular views of the surrounding landscape as you delve into German history. Afterward, we'll return to Eisenach, where you'll have free time for lunch and to wander at your leisure. Music enthusiasts might wish to visit the Bach House, the birthplace of the renowned composer, Johann Sebastian Bach. Alternatively, you can explore the Automobile Museum, which showcases a fine collection of vintage vehicles from East Germany’s car industry in its former main factory.Continuing our journey, we head to Gotha. Here, we'll admire the grandeur of its Baroque palace from the outside and enjoy a stroll through the charming historic centre. Our day then takes us to Erfurt, the capital of Thuringia, celebrated for its grand cathedral and beautifully preserved medieval old town. One of its unique attractions is a picturesque bridge lined with homes that have been continuously inhabited for over 500 years.By late afternoon, we arrive in Leipzig, a city rich in cultural and historical significance. Known as the birthplace of renowned composers like Bach and Wagner, Leipzig also played a crucial industrial role during the GDR era. Today, it buzzes with a vibrant population of over half a million.
Day 7 - Leipzig - Dresden - Prague
Departing from Leipzig, we will pause at the Monument to the Battle of the Nations, which stands an impressive 91 metres tall and was inaugurated in 1913 to commemorate a pivotal battle in the Napoleonic Wars. We then make our way to Dresden, the capital of Saxony, famed for its Baroque and Renaissance architecture, grand palaces, and picturesque promenades along the Elbe River. You’ll have time to savour lunch and explore this captivating city.In the afternoon, we cross into the Czech Republic and arrive in Prague by mid-afternoon. Here, we'll begin a panoramic tour to introduce you to what many consider one of Europe's most enchanting cities. You’ll see iconic sights like Prague Castle, the bustling Old Town Square, and the magnificent Charles Bridge. To round off your day, we'll offer an evening transfer to the city centre, where you'll find an array of traditional breweries to explore at your leisure. Please note, the panoramic tour may sometimes occur on a Sunday.
Day 8 - Prague
Today, we'll explore the enchanting city of Prague, often hailed as one of the most beautiful in Europe, with a guided panoramic tour. Our journey begins with a visit to Prague Castle—an impressive complex with a rich history. We'll then head to the bustling Town Hall Square, known for its lively atmosphere and ornate architecture. Finally, we'll cross the iconic Charles Bridge, offering splendid views of the Vltava River.Following the morning tour, you'll have the afternoon to discover the city at your own pace. Whether it's wandering down the cobblestone streets, visiting one of the many museums, or sampling local cuisine, the choice is yours. In the evening, at 7:00 p.m., we'll head back to the historic centre, where you can explore the traditional breweries and choose from a range of excellent dining options while soaking up the lively nightlife.

After breakfast, our journey concludes, leaving you with cherished memories of your time with us.
