Day 1 - Athens
Upon your arrival in Athens, we’ll take care of your transfer to the hotel, allowing you some free time to unwind and explore the local surroundings at your own pace. In the afternoon, you can gather essential details about the beginning of your tour at the hotel reception, ensuring you’re well-prepared for the days ahead. Take this opportunity to familiarise yourself with the vibrant city, soaking in its unique atmosphere and setting the tone for your upcoming adventures. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Athens
On our second day in Athens, we embark on a guided city tour, offering an engaging exploration of some of the city’s iconic landmarks. We begin with a visit to the Presidential Mansion and the historic Panathenaic Stadium, famously known for hosting the first modern Olympic Games. Our journey continues to the National Library and the lively squares at the heart of the city. We also venture into Athens’ newer neighbourhoods, which flourished after the 2004 Olympic Games. Our tour culminates at the Acropolis, where you'll have time to appreciate this magnificent ancient site (please note, admission is not included). In the evening, we take you to the charming neighbourhood of Plaka. This historical area is renowned for its delightful Greek tavernas, providing an excellent opportunity to immerse yourself in the rich culture and folklore of Greece.
Day 3 - Athens - Kamena Vourla - Kalabaka
On the third day of our tour, we will set off early from Athens to explore the wonders of northern Greece. Our first stop will be Kamena Vourla, a charming coastal destination renowned for its captivating scenery. Continuing our journey north, we'll visit the historic Thermopylae Mountain Pass, famous as the battlefield where a small Greek force held back the Persian army. From there, we'll make our way to Kastraki, a picturesque village offering stunning views of the surrounding valley, where you will have the opportunity to enjoy a leisurely lunch. Afterwards, we will visit the breathtaking Meteora, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, celebrated for its towering rock formations and ancient monasteries. You will have the chance to explore one of these monasteries, with admission included in the tour. Our day concludes with dinner in Kalambaka, a delightful nearby town, where we will rest for the night.
Day 4 - Kalabaka - Delphi - Athens
Today, we depart Kalambaka, heading south through the picturesque Thessaly region. Our first stop is the famed archaeological site of Delphi, perched above the Gulf of Corinth. This site offers not only a glimpse into ancient history but also astonishing views. You'll have time here to explore and enjoy lunch. Our next destination is the Hosios Loukas Monastery, celebrated as a stunning example of Byzantine architecture and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its 11th-century mosaics are particularly noteworthy. By evening, we continue our journey back to Athens, where we arrive ready for an evening at leisure.
Day 5 - Athens - Mykonos
On the fifth day, we'll embark on a ferry journey from Athens to the idyllic island of Mykonos. Upon arrival, we'll transfer you to your hotel. Known in mythology as the battleground of Zeus and the Titans, Mykonos today offers a blend of vibrant culture and stunning scenery. You'll have free time to meander through its picturesque streets, visit the charming area known as Little Venice, and marvel at the iconic windmills that dot the landscape, making the most of your time on this enchanting island.
Day 6 - Mykonos
After breakfast, you have the day to explore Mykonos at your own pace. We suggest a visit to Delos, the mythical birthplace of Apollo and Artemis, known as one of Ancient Greece's most sacred sites. Alternatively, you might choose to unwind on Mykonos's well-known beaches, Paradise and Super Paradise, where you can soak up the sun and enjoy the tranquil sea views.
Day 7 - Mykonos - Santorini
Following breakfast, we'll make our way to the port and embark on a ferry ride to the mesmerising island of Santorini. Upon reaching Santorini, we'll provide a transfer to your hotel. The remainder of the day is yours to uncover the island’s magic at your own pace. Known for its rich history, striking geological features, and the iconic whitewashed houses with blue domes, Santorini offers a feast for the senses with its breathtaking views and friendly locals. Please note: Depending on the availability of accommodation, the order of visits may be reversed, with a visit to Santorini preceding Mykonos.
Day 8 - Santorini
Begin your day in Santorini with a leisurely breakfast before setting off to further explore this captivating island at your own pace. We suggest a visit to the picturesque town of Oia, known for its stunning sunsets and charming architecture, or perhaps a wander through the traditional village of Agia Irini to soak up the local culture. For a more adventurous day, you might choose to embark on a boat trip to the rejuvenating hot springs, offering a unique experience as you watch the sunset from the serene waters of the Mediterranean. Alternatively, consider a panoramic tour of the island, where you can also indulge in a tasting of Santorini's renowned wines, enriching your senses with the local flavours and scenery.
Day 9 - Santorini - Athens
Following breakfast, we will arrange your transfer to the Santorini port for the ferry journey back to Athens, arriving at Piraeus Port late in the evening, around 11:00 p.m. Upon disembarkation, we'll take you to your hotel to settle in for the night.
Day 10 - Athens
After breakfast, our journey concludes, leaving you with a treasure trove of wonderful memories from your adventure.
