Itinerary
Day 1 - Mumbai
Arrive in Mumbai. On arrival at Mumbai airport, we meet you for assistance and transfer to your hotel. Standard check in is from 12:00 – early check in is subject to room availability. The rest of the day is at leisure – you can relax or explore independently. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 2 - Exploring Mumbai
After breakfast at the hotel, we head to the Gateway of India for a motorboat ride to Elephanta Island, about 10 kilometres offshore, to explore its rock cut cave temples. Later, we return for a Mumbai city tour, visiting the Gateway of India and the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya museum, then continue along Marine Drive from Nariman Point up to Malabar Hill. We also stop at the Hanging Gardens – laid out in 1881 – noted for hedges shaped like animals. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 3 - Mumbai to Alibag
After breakfast in Mumbai, we drive to Alibag – around 100 km and about 2 hours, depending on traffic. On arrival, we check in to the hotel and the rest of the day is free – you can take it easy and relax. Overnight in Alibag.
Day 4 - Mandwa & Alibag Beach
After breakfast, we drive about 12 km from Alibag towards Mandwa to visit Kanakeshwar Temple – a Lord Shiva shrine built in 1764 in Hoysala style. The complex includes a water tank known as Pushkarni, which holds water for most of the year, and the setting is characterised by quiet jungle and hillside surroundings.
We then head to Alibag Beach – the town’s main, clean stretch of sand – for time by the sea with views of Colaba Fort. You can stroll the shoreline, paddle in the shallows and try local snacks such as bhel puri, coconut water, ice cream, seafood and alu bonda. If you wish, you can also explore other nearby beaches including Akshi, Nagaon, Kihim, Mandwa or Kashid. The rest of the day is free to relax on the beach. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 5 - Alibag to Ratnagiri
After breakfast at the resort, we drive from Alibag to Ratnagiri – 300 km – approximately 6 hours. En route we stop to visit Murud–Janjira Fort, a historic sea fort that remained unconquered by the Marathas, the Dutch and the English. Access is by sailboat from Rajapuri jetty. Inside, we explore 26 rounded bastions with cannons of local and European make, palaces, officers’ quarters, a mosque and two natural freshwater lakes about 60 feet deep. The main gate faces Rajapuri and is cleverly concealed until you are about 12 metres away, and there is a small sea facing postern gate. Nearby, the palace of the Nawabs of Janjira in Murud is still in good condition. The fort is also known for three massive cannons named Kalalbangdi, Chavri and Landa Kasam. We then continue to Ratnagiri. Overnight at hotel.
Day 6 - Ratnagiri to Goa
After breakfast in Ratnagiri, we visit Thibaw Palace, a brick and teakwood building with three storeys where King Thibaw, the last monarch of Myanmar, lived under house arrest during his exile under British rule.
We then drive to Goa (295 km – 6 hours approx.), stopping en route at Sindhudurg Fort. Commissioned by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, construction began on 25 November 1664 and took about three years; around 200 Vaddera people worked on it and approximately 4,000 pounds of lead went into the foundations. The sea fort spans about 48 acres, with roughly 3 km of ramparts and walls about 9.1 m high and 3.7 m thick, and a main entrance concealed from outside view. We continue to Goa and check in at the hotel on arrival. The rest of the day is yours to relax. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 7 - Exploring Goa & Panjim
After breakfast, we set out on a full‑day tour of Goa. We explore the churches of Old Goa – a World Heritage Site – beginning with the Basilica of Bom Jesus, renowned for the preserved mortal remains of St Francis Xavier, a Jesuit who came to India with the Portuguese. We continue to Sé Cathedral, dedicated to St Catherine of Alexandria and built under Portuguese rule, with construction spanning 1562 to 1619 and sanctification in 1640. We also visit a former church built in 1517 to 1521 that now houses a museum, and the evocative ruins of the Augustinian complex, where a tower 46 metres high still stands.
Later, we take in Panjim city, including Altinho and the Dona Paula viewpoint, and wander through Fontainhas with its narrow lanes, overhanging balconies and red tiled roofs, before viewing the whitewashed Church of the Immaculate Conception, founded in 1540 and rebuilt in 1619. The rest of the time is free for you to relax. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 8 - Goa at Leisure
Goa We begin with breakfast at the hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure for you to relax or explore independently at your own pace – no guided activities are scheduled. We stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 9 - Goa
After breakfast, we transfer you to Goa airport in line with your flight schedule – to board your flight for your onward destination.
