Day 1 - Rome
Welcome to Rome. On arrival, we will transfer you to your hotel. Later, our guide will meet you to provide all the essential information for your stay. You can also find key details on the information board in the hotel reception. In the evening, we will take you to Via Cavour, a great introduction to the city, where you'll find a wide range of restaurants serving Italian, Indian, Chinese and international cuisine.
Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour.
Day 2 - Rome
We begin the day with a three-hour guided tour of Rome, starting on foot through Imperial Rome and continuing by coach to take in panoramic views of this ancient city. Along the way, we'll see iconic landmarks including the Arch of Constantine, the exterior of the Colosseum, the Imperial Forums, Circus Maximus, the Baths of Caracalla, the Basilica of Saint Mary Major, the Pyramid of Cestius and Castel Sant Angelo. The tour concludes at Vatican City around 11:00 a.m., where our guide will offer an optional visit to the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel. Later in the day, we transfer to the lively Trastevere district, known for its charming restaurants and vibrant atmosphere. You'll have free time there before we return to the hotel at approximately 8:30 p.m.
Day 3 - Rome - Florence
Today we leave Rome and travel northward, taking in the beautiful scenery en route to Florence. Upon arrival, we head straight to Piazzale Michelangelo to enjoy sweeping views over the city. From there, we walk towards the historic centre, where after some time for lunch, we take a guided tour with a local expert. This walking tour includes visits to key landmarks such as the Ponte Vecchio, the Duomo, and Piazza della Signoria. Florence truly feels like an open-air museum. Later, you'll have free time to explore the city at your own pace. In the evening, there are plenty of dining options available in this vibrant district, offering a variety of international cuisines.
Day 4 - Florence - Venice
Today we travel across the Apennine Mountains, taking in impressive mountain scenery as we make our way to Venice. Upon arrival, we'll board a boat to cross the Giudecca Canal and reach Venice's island centre. With a local guide, we'll explore the remarkable St. Mark's Square. Afterwards, we visit a Murano Glass Factory to see the traditional techniques behind this renowned craft. You'll then have some free time to discover Venice at your own pace. Tonight's accommodation is in the Mestre district, just a short distance from the city.
Day 5 - Venice - Innsbruck - Salzburg
We leave Venice and travel into Austria, arriving in Innsbruck, the capital of the Tyrol region. You'll have time to wander through the historic city centre and enjoy lunch at your leisure. Afterwards, we journey through scenic mountain roads to Kitzbuhel, a picturesque village renowned as a ski resort with snow for much of the year. You'll have some free time here to explore before we continue to Salzburg, arriving by the end of the day. Depending on the number of travellers, we may take the train from Venice to Innsbruck.
Day 6 - Salzburg - Lake Traunsee - Vienna
This morning, we'll explore Salzburg, the birthplace of Mozart, known for its stunning Renaissance and Baroque architecture set beneath the imposing fortress. Afterwards, we'll journey through picturesque lakes and mountains to the charming pilgrimage town of St. Wolfgang. Next, we'll continue to Traunkirchen on the shores of Lake Traunsee, where we'll take an included boat cruise to admire four castles that dot the lake's shoreline before arriving at Gmunden. From there, we'll proceed to Vienna, reaching the city by evening.
Day 7 - Vienna
Today, we'll start with a panoramic tour of Vienna led by a local guide. We'll explore the city's grand avenues, elegant palaces, expansive parks, and vibrant historic centre. In the afternoon, you'll have free time to explore at your own pace. In the evening, we'll provide a transfer to the Grinzing district - a former wine-growing village now part of Vienna, known for its traditional taverns. You'll have the opportunity to enjoy dinner there independently.
Day 8 - Vienna - Budapest
Following a morning transfer from Vienna, we'll arrive in Budapest after around three hours. Our first stop is the bustling Vaci utca, where you'll have free time to enjoy lunch amid its vibrant shops and cafes. Afterwards, we'll embark on a scenic boat trip along the Danube River, taking in the striking contrast between historic Buda and lively Pest. This will be followed by a panoramic tour of Budapest, often called the Queen of the Danube, showcasing the city's iconic landmarks from both banks. You'll then have some free time to explore independently. In the evening, there is an optional outing to a traditional Magyar show, with dinner included.
Day 9 - Budapest - Bratislava - Prague
We depart Budapest early and travel to Bratislava, Slovakia's capital, situated along the Danube with a charming historic centre. You'll have time to explore the city and enjoy lunch at your leisure. Afterwards, we continue to Prague in the Czech Republic, arriving in the evening. Upon arrival, we'll transfer you to Old Town Square, a lively area that provides an excellent introduction to the city's atmosphere and attractions. You can choose from a variety of restaurants nearby, offering Czech, Chinese, Indian, Italian and other international cuisines. Later, we'll return to the hotel for the night.
Day 10 - Prague
Today we explore Prague, often called the Baroque jewel of Europe. With a local guide, we'll take a panoramic tour showcasing the city's most remarkable monuments. Included in the tour is a visit to Prague Castle, where admission is covered. Afterwards, we'll enjoy a scenic boat ride on the Vltava River. In the afternoon, you'll have free time to discover the city at your own pace.
Day 11 - Prague
After breakfast, your journey concludes, leaving you with wonderful memories to take home.
