Day 1 - Rome
Welcome to Rome. Upon arrival, we will transfer you to your hotel. Later, our guide will meet you to provide essential information about your stay; details will also be available on the hotel’s information board. In the evening, we will take you to Via Cavour, a vibrant area that offers a great introduction to Rome’s culinary scene. Here, you can choose from a variety of restaurants serving Italian, Indian, Chinese, and international cuisine.
Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour.
Day 2 - Rome
In the morning, we’ll embark on a three-hour guided tour of Rome, blending a walking exploration of Imperial Rome with a panoramic bus route to take in the city’s most iconic sights. We’ll visit landmarks including the Arch of Constantine, the exterior of the Colosseum, the Imperial Forums, Circus Maximus, Baths of Caracalla, Basilica of Saint Mary Major, the Pyramid of Cestius, and Castel Sant’Angelo. The tour concludes at Vatican City around 11:00 a.m., where there is an optional visit to the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel. Later in the day, we’ll transfer you to the vibrant Trastevere neighbourhood, renowned for its charming atmosphere and array of eateries. Expect to return to the hotel at approximately 8:30 p.m.
Day 3 - Rome - Florence
Today we leave Rome and travel north, enjoying the scenic landscapes en route. Upon arrival in Florence, we head straight to Piazzale Michelangelo, where we take in stunning panoramic views of the city. From there, we walk towards the historic centre. After some time for lunch, we join a local expert for a guided walking tour through Florence’s iconic landmarks, including the Ponte Vecchio, the Duomo, and Piazza della Signoria. This remarkable city truly resembles an open-air museum. Later, you have free time to explore at your own pace. In the evening, the district offers a wide range of restaurants serving international cuisine for you to choose from.
Day 4 - Florence - Venice
Today, we travel from Florence across the Apennine Mountains, taking in impressive mountain scenery along the way. Upon arrival in Venice, we’ll board a boat to cross the Giudecca Canal and reach the historic island. With a local guide, we will explore the magnificent St Mark’s Square, the heart of Venice. Afterwards, we’ll visit a Murano Glass Factory to witness the traditional craftsmanship behind this renowned art form. You’ll then have some free time to discover Venice at your own pace. Accommodation is in the Mestre district for the night.
Day 5 - Venice - Innsbruck - Zurich
We leave Venice and travel north towards Austria. Upon arrival in Innsbruck, you’ll have time to explore the historic town centre and enjoy lunch at your leisure. Afterward, we continue through the scenic Tyrolean region, crossing into Switzerland before reaching Zurich for the evening.
Day 6 - Zurich - Lucerne - Zurich
Today’s journey unfolds amid spectacular mountain scenery and crystal-clear lakes. We begin in the Interlaken region, stopping first in Grindelwald for a coffee break before ascending by cable car. At the summit, we’ll follow a winding path to a suspended bridge. For those feeling adventurous, crossing the bridge rewards you with impressive views of the surrounding glaciers. Lunch is included on the mountain before we descend. Our next stop is Lucerne, renowned for its picturesque setting and charming old town, where you’ll have free time to explore. We’ll then return to Zurich. The guide will also offer an optional full-day excursion: after some free time in Lucerne, you can take a rotating cable car to the summit of Mount Titlis, over 3,000 metres above sea level, for breathtaking alpine views.
Day 7 - Zurich - Strasbourg - Paris
We depart Zurich and travel to the Alsace region of France, arriving in Strasbourg – a city renowned for its unique blend of French and German heritage. You’ll have time to explore at your own pace, taking in the historic centre and its distinctive architecture. Later, we continue on to Paris, arriving in the evening for your overnight stay.
Day 8 - Paris
We begin the day with a visit to the magnificent Palace of Versailles, famed for its grand architecture and expansive gardens (admission not included). On our return to Paris, we explore Montmartre, a vibrant bohemian district known for its artistic heritage and cabaret culture. To capture the full splendour of the city, we enjoy a panoramic tour with a local guide, taking in Paris’s wide avenues and iconic landmarks. After the tour, we return to the hotel, with the option to attend an evening variety show for those interested.
Day 9 - Paris - Rouen
We begin the day in central Paris with a visit to the iconic Eiffel Tower, including tickets to the second floor of this celebrated iron landmark. Following this, we’ll enjoy a leisurely boat cruise along the Seine River, offering a unique perspective of the city’s famous sights. The afternoon is yours to explore Paris at your own pace. At approximately 4:00 p.m., we depart Paris and travel to Normandy, arriving in Rouen. Here, you’ll have free time to discover the historic centre of this lively city, known for its Roman roots, striking medieval architecture, and impressive Gothic cathedral. Please note that if wait times at the Eiffel Tower are excessive, we may reschedule the visit to a different time or day for your convenience.
Day 10 - Rouen - English Channel - Canterbury - London
This morning, we’ll take a leisurely walk through the historic centre of Rouen, allowing you to appreciate its medieval streets and Gothic architecture. Afterwards, we’ll travel north through France to cross the English Channel by ferry. Upon arrival in Canterbury, known as England’s religious capital, we’ll explore its charming historic district. Our journey will then continue to London, where you’ll have some free time around the iconic Tower Bridge before we transfer to the hotel for the evening.
Day 11 - London
Today, we explore London on a panoramic tour with a local guide, taking in the city’s rich culture and history. We’ll see iconic landmarks such as the Houses of Parliament, the River Thames, and Buckingham Palace—where you may have the chance to witness the Changing of the Guard, depending on the schedule. In the evening, we’ll gather in Piccadilly for a leisurely walk through Leicester Square, Chinatown, and Soho, vibrant districts known for their lively atmosphere, theatres, and entertainment. You’ll have plenty of dining options before we return to the hotel.
Day 12 - London - Colchester - Colchester - Volendam Ferry
This morning, we’ll visit the British Museum, one of the world’s oldest institutions, where you’ll discover artefacts from diverse cultures across the globe. After some free time at lunchtime, we’ll head to Camden, a lively district famous for its eclectic street market. Here, you can browse unique stalls and enjoy lunch at one of the local eateries or food stands. At around 4:00 p.m., we’ll travel to Colchester, England’s oldest recorded town, and take a relaxed walk through its historic streets. Later, we’ll continue to Harwich to board the ferry for an overnight crossing to the Netherlands, with comfortable en suite cabins provided. Please note, due to limited cabin availability, the itinerary may be adjusted—with options including a daytime ferry and overnight stay in Antwerp, or travel to Amsterdam by train or flight.
Day 13 - Colchester - Volendam Ferry - Volendam - Amsterdam
We arrive in the Netherlands at Hoek van Holland around 8.00 a.m. and visit Volendam, a charming fishing village known for its traditional atmosphere and waterfront views. Afterwards, we continue to Amsterdam for a guided city tour. Highlights include the iconic windmill and Rembrandt statue, the modern sophistication of the South District, and the historic diamond-cutting district near Museum Square. The tour concludes in the city centre, where you will have free time to explore at your leisure.
Day 14 - Amsterdam
After breakfast, your journey concludes, leaving you with lasting memories to cherish from your time in Amsterdam.
