Begin and finish in Chachapoyas on a four day adventure through Peru’s lush north. After a relaxed arrival, you’ll visit Kuelap – a mountain top citadel at around 3,000 metres – with time to wander its monumental walls and round houses, reached by a scenic cable car. Another day takes you to Cocachimba for a rewarding walk to Gocta Falls, one of the world’s tallest cascades, framed by orchids, giant ferns and misty valleys. Expect to see monkeys and toucans, plus a chorus of endemic birds. Easy pacing, big views and characterful towns – a brilliant blend before your return to Chachapoyas.

Itinerary
Day 1 - Chachapoyas
Arrive at Chachapoyas Airport. On arrival, we’ll be waiting to meet you and transfer you to your hotel. Enjoy the short drive as you take in the region’s striking scenery and diverse flora and fauna. Check in on arrival and settle in – you have the rest of the day at leisure to relax or explore at your own pace. Overnight in Chachapoyas.
Day 2 - Chachapoyas - Kuelap
After breakfast at the hotel, we set out to explore Kuélap – one of the country’s most impressive archaeological sites and the largest built by the Chachapoyas. Perched at around 3,000 metres above sea level, the mountaintop complex centres on a monumental walled stronghold with more than 500 interior enclosures arranged over several levels, all contained by perimeter walls that rise up to 20 metres. Many of the circular structures once had steep conical thatched roofs and served as dwellings for an estimated 3,000 inhabitants.We travel from Chachapoyas to the site and ascend by cable car – a 20 minute ride to the mountaintop, subject to availability – before visiting the archaeological complex and returning to Chachapoyas for the evening. Overnight in Chachapoyas.
Day 3 - Chachapoyas - Cocachimba
After breakfast at the hotel, we set out to explore the dramatic landscapes around Chachapoyas – deep canyons, cloud forest and the spectacular Gocta Waterfall. We collect you from your hotel by private vehicle and drive to Cocachimba, the starting point for the hike to Gocta.From Cocachimba, we follow a forested trail rich in orchids, giant ferns and birdlife – you may spot monkeys and toucans en route. On reaching Gocta – at 770 metres, among the world’s highest waterfalls – we pause to take in the view before walking back to Cocachimba. We then transfer to Chachapoyas for the night. Overnight in Chachapoyas.
Day 4 - Chachapoyas
After breakfast at the hotel – included – we collect you at the scheduled time and transfer you to Chachapoyas Airport for your onward flight. This marks the end of your tour with us.
