Day 1 - Malaga
Welcome to Málaga. We’ll transfer you to your hotel – after settling in, you’ll have free time to relax or explore at your own pace. In the afternoon, please check the notice boards at hotel reception for information about the start of your tour.
Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Malaga - Puerto Banus - Setenil de las bodegas - Ronda - Jerez de la frontera
Leaving Málaga, we travel through the White Villages and the Andalusian mountains – one of the most scenic stages of the journey. We begin with a visit to Puerto Banús in Marbella, a marina renowned for its yachts and designer boutiques, then continue to Setenil de las Bodegas to see its whitewashed homes built into the rock. We carry on to Ronda, poised above the dramatic Tajo Gorge, where a typical lunch is included. You then have free time for a stroll before we visit the historic bullring – one of the oldest and most monumental in Spain – with entrance included. We finish the day in Jerez de la Frontera, with time to wander the historic centre where you can explore at your own pace and sample tapas in traditional tabancos.
Day 3 - Jerez de la frontera - El Puerto de Santa Maria - Cadiz - Seville
After breakfast in Jerez de la Frontera – renowned for its winemaking tradition, equestrian culture and flamenco – we visit the Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art (tickets included) to explore the Carriage Museum and watch the training of Andalusian horses. Before leaving Jerez, we make a brief stop to photograph the exterior of the Moorish Alcázar. We then continue to El Puerto de Santa María to visit the Osborne Wineries (tickets and tasting included), followed by some free time to enjoy the surroundings. Next, we board a boat to Cádiz – a scenic crossing of around 30 minutes. In Cádiz, one of the oldest cities in Europe, you’ll have free time to explore the cathedral and the old town. Later in the afternoon, we cross the bridge towards Seville, arriving by the end of the day.
Day 4 - Seville
After breakfast we travel to Italica – entrance and guided tour with a local expert included – the Roman city where emperors Trajan and Hadrian were born. We explore the amphitheatre, baths and mosaics, including the vast arena that once seated around 25,000 spectators. We then continue to Palos de la Frontera, the port from which Columbus’s ships sailed in 1492, to visit the Monastery of La Rábida and the Wharf of the Caravels – entrance included – to see the ship replicas. You’ll have free time for lunch in Huelva.In the afternoon we follow the Atlantic coast near Doñana National Park, known for its biodiversity, and stop in El Rocío, renowned for its pilgrimage and rural charm. We visit its sanctuary and take in views over Doñana before returning to Seville in the late afternoon.
Day 5 - Seville - Zaragoza
Seville unfolds this morning as we take a panoramic tour, visiting the cathedral and its famous Giralda, the banks of the Guadalquivir, and the neighbourhoods of Santa Cruz and Triana. Afterwards, we include a boat ride on the Guadalquivir. In the afternoon, we transfer you to the station to board the high–speed train, scheduled to depart around 16:30 – the 850 km journey to Zaragoza takes just under four hours. On arrival in Zaragoza, we transfer you to the hotel. Please note – the train journey is unescorted and there is no tour guide on board.
Day 6 - Zaragoza - Poblet - Barcelona
We start with a morning panoramic tour of Zaragoza led by a local expert – beginning at the Cathedral–Basilica of Our Lady of the Pillar, then exploring works by Goya. We continue to the Roman theatre and a Renaissance palace, and take a stroll by the Aljafería Palace. After lunch, we travel into Catalonia to visit the walled Poblet Abbey – one of the best preserved medieval monasteries – with tickets included. We then continue to Barcelona, arriving in the evening.
Day 7 - Barcelona
This morning we take a panoramic tour of Barcelona – a Mediterranean city renowned for Gaudí and its modernist architecture, the lively Ramblas, and the legacy of its World Expositions and Olympic Games. Our tour ends at Maremagnum, the waterfront leisure and dining complex beside Columbus Square, where you can stroll through this vibrant area. The afternoon is at leisure. We return to the hotel at the end of the day.
Day 8 - Barcelona - Peniscola - Valencia
We travel south along the Mediterranean, pausing in Peniscola – a medieval walled town surrounded by beautiful beaches – where you’ll have time for a stroll. We continue to Valencia, arriving around lunchtime. In the afternoon we take a tour with a local guide of this port city on the Levantine coast, with over 2,000 years of history that contrasts with the modern architecture of the City of Arts and Sciences. After the tour, you’ll have free time to explore at your own pace. A traditional local dinner is included.
Day 9 - Valencia - Alicante - Guadix - Granada
We continue through pleasant landscapes in the Valencian Community. ALICANTE, a city bathed by the Mediterranean, combines golden sandy beaches with a charming historic quarter. The imposing Castle of Santa Bárbara stands out. Free time for a stroll.We continue through arid landscapes in the region of MURCIA. Stop en route for lunch.In Andalusia, we make our first stop in GUADIX, famous for its unique inhabited cave houses. Its historic quarter combines the Renaissance cathedral, traditional neighborhoods, and unique views of the Sierra Nevada.We continue to GRANADA. Arrival in the late afternoon, dinner included.
Day 10 - Granada
We’ll enjoy a full day in Granada. If your tour includes tickets, we’ll explore the majestic Alhambra Palace and its stunning Generalife Gardens, both masterpieces from the Arab era. In the afternoon, you’ll have free time to discover the city, including the cathedral that houses the tombs of the Catholic Monarchs.VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: The number of visitors allowed into the Alhambra is strictly regulated by law. To ensure your admission, tickets will be issued upon confirming your tour reservation. It´s essential to provide accurate personal details (full name and passport/ID number) at the time of booking. Please be aware that ticket costs are non-refundable in case of cancellation. In rare cases where the Alhambra visit is not possible, we will instead tour the Royal Alcázar of Seville, which offers similar historical and architectural significance.
Day 11 - Granada - Nerja - Malaga
Today we’ll enjoy spectacular landscapes as we cross the Sierra Nevada mountain range. We’ll then continue along the Mediterranean, on the so-called Tropical Coast, where the mild year-round microclimate allows for the cultivation of tropical fruits such as guavas, mangoes, and avocados, and in the past, sugar cane.We stop in NERJA, a charming coastal town with impressive cliffs. We then continue to MÁLAGA, the capital of the "Costa del Sol", full of life and boasting a beautiful historic center.Our journey will come to an end, leaving you with wonderful and lasting memories.Please, check the time of your flight in case you might need an additional night.
