Day 1 - Washington DC
Upon your arrival in Washington, you'll be transferred to your hotel where you'll have some free time to settle in and explore at your own pace. In the afternoon, we’ll provide you with information about your upcoming journey, which you can also find on the information boards at the hotel reception. Later, we’ll include an evening transfer to Georgetown – a bustling district filled with lively bars and diverse restaurants, offering a perfect spot to unwind and soak in the vibrant atmosphere. Afterwards, we will head back to our accommodation for the night. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Washington DC
Following breakfast, we set off on our exploration of Washington, D.C. Our journey commences with a quick viewing of the Pentagon en route to a photo opportunity at the iconic Iwo Jima Memorial, both located in Virginia. We then proceed to visit the Lincoln, Korean and Vietnam Memorials. Our tour continues with a stop at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and a brief photo stop at the White House. We then circle around the Capitol before concluding the morning in Washington's museum district. In the afternoon, enjoy a leisurely boat trip on the Potomac River to take in some of the city's most prominent landmarks. After this relaxing cruise, we will return to the hotel. Later, you can choose to join an optional evening tour to experience the illuminated beauty of Washington by night before we return to our accommodation. Please note, the boat trip on the Potomac River is unavailable from October to March due to weather conditions.
Day 3 - Washington DC - Lancaster - New York
We begin our day with breakfast before bidding farewell to Washington and setting off for Lancaster. Here, you'll have the opportunity to see the traditional Amish farms and catch a glimpse of their simple 18th-century way of life, which remains largely unchanged. We'll pause for a lunch break along the journey to ensure you're refreshed for the next leg. Our adventure continues as we head towards New York, where we will arrive later in the afternoon.
Day 4 - New York
After breakfast, we'll embark on an expansive tour of New York City, exploring the vibrant tapestry of its iconic neighbourhoods and landmarks. Our journey takes us through the diverse landscapes of Manhattan, from its towering skyscrapers to its lively districts. We'll visit the financial hub of Wall Street, the cultural epicentre of Rockefeller Center, and the Gothic grandeur of St Patrick’s Cathedral. A stroll in Central Park offers a tranquil escape from the city’s hustle and bustle. We'll also see Columbus Circle and the imposing AOL/Time Warner Building. The tour continues through the eclectic streets of Greenwich Village, the historic charm of Little Italy, and concludes with the sweeping views of the Statue of Liberty from Battery Park. In the evening, we'll head to Times Square, the pulsating heart of the city, illuminated by Broadway’s dazzling lights and bustling with energy. Please note, if your hotel is conveniently located in the Times Square area, there won't be an additional transfer for the evening visit.
Day 5 - New York
After breakfast, our journey concludes. Wishing you safe travels and hoping the experiences from this trip stay with you for years to come.
