Day 1 - London
Upon arriving in London, we will take care of your transfer to the hotel, allowing you some free time to settle in and explore at your own pace. Later in the afternoon, look out for detailed information about the commencement of your tour, conveniently displayed on boards located in the hotel reception area. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - London
Spend your second day exploring London on a panoramic tour guided by a local expert who will introduce you to the rich culture and history of this vibrant city. We will visit iconic landmarks such as the Houses of Parliament, the scenic River Thames, and the grand Buckingham Palace. If you're lucky and timing permits, you might catch a glimpse of the famed Changing of the Guard ceremony. In the evening, we'll gather at a designated spot in Piccadilly to enjoy a leisurely walk through the bustling areas of Leicester Square, Chinatown, and Soho, known for their lively vibe and array of entertainment options. Here, you’ll find a variety of dining choices to savour before we head back to the hotel.
Day 3 - London - Colchester - Colchester - Volendam Ferry
Our third day begins with a visit to the illustrious British Museum, one of the oldest in the world, where we’ll explore a rich tapestry of global cultures. After enjoying some leisure time, we’ll proceed to Camden. Known for its lively and diverse street market, Camden offers an array of unique items and culinary delights. Take your pick from a variety of food stands and cosy restaurants for lunch.At approximately 4:00 p.m., we will journey to Colchester, the oldest recorded town in England. Here, you can wander through its historic streets, soaking in the town's profound heritage. Our day will conclude with a trip to Harwich, where we will board the ferry for an overnight voyage to the Netherlands, staying in comfortable en suite cabins. Please note that the itinerary may vary due to ferry cabin availability. We might take a daytime ferry and stay overnight in Antwerp, or alternatively, travel to Amsterdam by train or flight.
Day 4 - Colchester - Volendam Ferry - Volendam - Amsterdam
We arrive in the Netherlands around eight in the morning, docking at Hoek van Holland, where our Dutch adventure begins. Our first stop is Volendam, a charming fishing village that offers a picturesque glimpse into traditional life. From there, we continue on to Amsterdam for a guided tour, exploring the city's blend of historical and modern attractions. We'll see the iconic windmills, pay homage to Rembrandt at his statue, and admire the contemporary charm of the South District. At Museum Square, we delve into the craft of diamond cutting, a tradition as rich as the city's history. We finish the tour on foot, strolling through the vibrant city centre, before enjoying free time to explore Amsterdam at your own pace.
Day 5 - Amsterdam - Hamelin - Berlin
As we depart from Amsterdam, we make our way to Germany, with our first stop in the enchanting town of Hamelin. Known for its association with the Brothers Grimm's tale of the Pied Piper, Hamelin's charming streets and shops capture the essence of this classic story. From there, we head to Berlin, the path taking us through Marienborn—the historical border used to separate East and West Germany until the reunification in 1990. We will arrive in Berlin by evening, where the city's vibrant culture and rich history await exploration.
Day 6 - Berlin
Experience Berlin, the vibrant capital of Germany, with a guided tour that delves into the city's rich culture and history. Aboard our coach, you'll witness iconic landmarks including Museum Island, the Television Tower, and the bustling shopping streets of the city centre. You’ll also see the poignant ruins of the old cathedral, alongside world-famous sites like the Brandenburg Gate and the Reichstag. As we journey through Berlin, marvel at the expansive parks that offer a glimpse of the city’s green heart. Our tour includes significant stops at the Holocaust Memorial and the Berlin Wall Memorial Museum, both offering a sombre reflection on the trials of Germany's past century. The afternoon is yours to further explore Berlin at your leisure. Later, we'll whisk you off to the vibrant Kantstrasse area, where you can soak up the lively atmosphere and perhaps enjoy a meal or drink at one of its numerous cafes and restaurants.
Day 7 - Berlin - Dresden - Prague
Today, we travel through scenic forests en route to the city of Dresden, celebrated for its stunning architecture and rich artistic heritage. Upon arrival, you'll have the opportunity to explore some of Dresden's remarkable palaces and indulge in lunch at one of its charming restaurants or cafes. Later in the day, we continue our journey to the Czech Republic, reaching the vibrant city of Prague. Our first stop is the Old Town Square, a lively hub of cultural activities and entertainment—a perfect spot for your initial experience of Prague. As the evening approaches, you can choose from a range of dining options, including Czech, Chinese, Indian, and Italian cuisines, before we return to our hotel.
Day 8 - Prague
Today, we explore the enchanting city of Prague, often referred to as the Baroque jewel of Europe. Our day begins with a guided panoramic tour, where our local expert will introduce us to the city’s most remarkable landmarks. Among these, we will have the opportunity to visit Prague Castle, with admission included, offering a glimpse into the heart of Czech history and architecture. Following the castle visit, we'll enjoy a leisurely boat ride on the Vltava River, granting us unique perspectives of the city's beautiful skyline and riverside views. The afternoon is yours to discover Prague at your own pace, allowing you to enjoy its charming streets, delightful cafes, and vibrant cultural scene.
