Itinerary

Day 1 - Oslo

Welcome to Norway! Arrive in Oslo, a vibrant city surrounded by forests and the Oslo Fjord. Transfer independently to your city-centre hotel (an airport shuttle bus to the city centre (not the hotel) is available for booking).

Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure - stroll through the streets, visit the royal palace, and explore Karl Johan’s street with its shops, bars, and cafés.

Day 2 - Discover Oslo

Explore Oslo at your own pace or join our optional 5-hour guided bus tour with a certified local guide. The tour includes Holmenkollen Ski Jump, Vigeland Sculpture Park, and visits to the Fram and Viking Ship Museums.

Want more? A 24-hour Oslo Pass offers free public transport and entry to top attractions like Akershus Castle, City Hall, Fram Museum, Kon-Tiki Museum, Munch Museum, and the Nobel Peace Centre.

Day 3 - Journey to the Fjords

Oslo - Balestrand. Head to Oslo train station between 07:00-07:15 for your journey through Norway’s stunning fjords. Optional luggage transfer to Bergen is available, allowing you to travel without check-in baggage, which will be ready for pickup at your Bergen hotel.

Take an early train to Myrdal, a scenic mountain station, where you'll board the famous Flamsbana. This steep railway winds through breathtaking landscapes, past waterfalls, steep cliffs, and 20 tunnels, offering countless spectacular views.

Arrive in Flam and enjoy free time to explore the charming village before continuing with a cruise on the majestic Sognefjord, Norway’s longest fjord. The journey begins in Aurlandsfjord, a 17 km branch of the 204 km Sognefjord, renowned for its stunning scenery. Dinner is included tonight and tomorrow - the dress code is smart-casual.

Day 4 - Fjaerland Leisure Day

Enjoy a free day to explore the region at your own pace or join an optional Half-Day Fjærland excursion (available 1st June – 15th September).

This round-trip from Balestrand to Fjaerland includes visits to Boyabreen and Supphellebreen glaciers, plus the Norwegian Glacier Museum. Sail through the stunning Fjaerland Fjord, with its steep mountains and vibrant scenery, before a shuttle bus takes you to the museum. Watch Ivo Caprino’s panoramic film on Jostedalen Glacier and explore the exhibition.

The trip continues by coach to the glaciers before returning to Fjaerland and sailing back to Hella/Balestrand. The fare includes the coach and museum entrance.

Pre-booking is recommended, as availability cannot be guaranteed upon arrival in Norway.

Day 5 - Boat to Bergen

In the late afternoon, board a fast boat to Bergen, a UNESCO World Heritage City and the gateway to Norway’s fjords. This vibrant city blends nature, culture, and urban life year-round.

If time permits, enhance your stay with a visit to Magic Ice Bar for a unique and unforgettable experience.

Day 6 - Explore Bergen

Explore Bergen at your own pace, visiting highlights like the Hanseatic Bryggen, St. Mary's Church, Haakon’s Fortress, and the famous fish market. Take the Floibanen Funicular to Mount Floyen for stunning city views.

For more flexibility, consider a 24-hour Bergen City Card. It includes free travel on light rail and buses, plus entry to attractions like Haakon’s Hall, Rosenkrantz Tower, St. Mary’s Church, and the Norwegian Fisheries Museum, along with discounts at various shops and restaurants.

Half Day Fjaerland Excursion from Balestrand

This scenic tour takes you by sightseeing boat from Balestrand into the breathtaking Fjærlandsfjord, where steep, forested mountains frame the route to the edge of the mighty Jostedalen Glacier.
