Itinerary
Day 1 - Tallinn
Welcome to Tallinn – we arrange your transfer to the hotel and share practical information in the afternoon, either in person or via the information board at reception. You have free time to settle in.
Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Tallinn
Tallinn, Estonia’s capital, retains its medieval heart. We take a panoramic tour of the city – walls, churches, squares and atmospheric streets – and you have the afternoon free to explore at your own pace.
Day 3 - Tallinn - Parnu - Turaida - Sigulda - Salaspils - Riga
We travel through forests and plains to Parnu, a popular seaside resort, then continue into Latvia. Lunch is included before we visit medieval Turaida Castle (admission included), set within a large park with sculptures. We then walk in Sigulda, a small and charming town amid beautiful landscapes, and continue towards Riga with a stop at the Salaspils Memorial – one of Europe’s largest monumental complexes commemorating victims of the Nazi period. We arrive in Riga in the evening.
Day 4 - Riga
We enjoy an included panoramic tour of Riga – the most populous city in the Baltic states – where traces of the Soviet era remain. The city is renowned for its cultural life, medieval historic centre and Art Nouveau architecture. You have the afternoon free.
Day 5 - Riga - Rundale - Vilnius
We depart early for Lithuania. En route we visit the Baroque Rundale Palace, designed by the architect of Saint Petersburg’s Hermitage Museum, then cross into Lithuania. The Hill of Crosses impresses with thousands of crosses of all sizes. Lunch is included. Afterwards, we visit Trakai, a beautiful castle on an island in a lake near Vilnius, and finish the day in Vilnius. Note: depending on daylight, the visit to Trakai may take place on Wednesday after the city tour.
Day 6 - Vilnius
We begin with a panoramic tour of Vilnius – a city built on seven hills and often compared to Rome. We discover its Baroque churches, historic walls, grand castle, lively central streets and 1,200 medieval houses. You have the afternoon free.
Day 7 - Vilnius
After breakfast, our journey concludes, leaving you with wonderful lasting memories.
