Seattle - Kamloops (Canada). Our tour begins with pick up from a designated spot in Seattle, this will be communicated in your tour booking documentation. Leaving the US city, we cross the border into Canada and journey to Kamloops, British Columbia, where the North and South Thompson rivers converge. Kamloops is renowned for its breathtaking scenery and excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing. The Thompson River Valley is home to various wildlife, including cougars, bears, elk, and more.
Along the way, we take a break for a short walk and picnic at Bridal Veil Falls Provincial Park. The park's landscape is defined by low-lying valleys and verdant, rounded mountains. Bridal Veil Falls cascades 197 feet down a smooth rock face, creating a veil-like effect. We will be camping in the Kamloops area, in the town of Salmon Arm. On this tour, all camping equipment is provided at a full service campground with electricity, Wi-Fi, hot showers and flush toilets. You will need to provide your own sleeping bag, or can hire one for $40 per person per tour. Must be booked in advance, please let us know at time of booking.
Please note: This tour has a flexible itinerary, and the below is a general guide of what you can expect on tour. Your tour guide may alter certain night stops to maximize your enjoyment; maybe you opt to visit a local event or stay longer in a certain place. The beauty of a small group tour is that the itinerary can also be adapted to suit the group’s preference! We encourage you to relax and go with the flow!
Kamloops - Yoho National Park - Banff. This morning, we shall depart Kamloops for Yoho National Park. The word Yoho originates from the Cree language, meaning awe and wonder, a feeling that quickly becomes clear. As we explore the scenic trails around Emerald Lake, you can either walk along the shore or relax in the lakeside café and enjoy the views.
This afternoon, we drive over Kicking Horse Pass, crossing the Continental Divide into Alberta. On our way to Banff, our overnight stop, we’ll take in panoramic views of 10,000-foot peaks at Rogers Pass in Canada's Glacier National Park. Banff is a vibrant mountain town, offering alpine nightlife and plenty of cafés and restaurants.
Banff - Lake Louise. We leave Banff for Lake Louise, a stunning alpine lake renowned for its turquoise glacier-fed waters, encircled by towering peaks. We can hike along trails to the Lake Agnes Tea House for breathtaking bird’s-eye views of the lake.
Alternatively, we can hike to the Plain of Six Glaciers, enjoy a leisurely walk along the lakeshore, or canoe on the pristine waters for an additional fee. In the afternoon, we visit Moraine Lake in the Valley of the Ten Peaks, standing at around 6,183 feet, for some incredible photo opportunities. We will be camping in the area.
Lake Louise - Jasper. Today, we spend the day driving and exploring the Icefields Parkway, one of the world’s most spectacular routes connecting Banff National Park and Jasper National Park. This journey offers endless vistas, jagged mountains, glaciers, and fantastic wildlife viewing opportunities.
Along the way, we enjoy short walks, admire views of Bow Glacier and Peyto Lake, and can opt for a helicopter flight over the Columbia Icefield for an additional fee or step out onto the Athabasca Glacier. Arriving in Jasper National Park, we are staying at a campsite in the area.
Jasper - Clearwater. This morning is yours to enjoy at leisure in Jasper and the surrounding national park, the largest national park in Canada. Marvel at the snow-capped peaks and stunning lakes in this truly wild mountain wilderness. Jasper offers us abundant wildlife sightings, rugged mountain ranges, alpine lakes, and numerous opportunities for hiking or biking along its renowned trails and picturesque lake shores. Hiking and biking in Jasper National Park is at an additional fee.
After a day full of activities, we follow the Yellowhead Highway, which runs alongside the mighty North Thompson River, to our overnight stop in Clearwater, British Columbia. Along the way, we’ll see the base of Mount Robson, towering at 12,972 feet, and may even catch a glimpse of the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies.
Clearwater - Whistler. This morning we travel to the famous ski resort town of Whistler, nestled at the foot of the Blackcomb Mountains. You can enjoy a free day to explore Whistler and its surrounding scenery. Capture amazing photos while discovering this delightful ski town, which hosted many sports during the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics.
Whistler - Vancouver - Seattle (USA). This morning, we drive along the spectacular Sea to Sky Highway en route to Vancouver. As we explore this vibrant city on an included tour, we'll visit key highlights such as the waterfront, where we can enjoy stunning views of the harbour and city skyline. We'll wander through the historic Gaslamp District, known for its charming streets and period architecture. Our tour will also take us through Chinatown, with its colourful shops and traditional markets, and Stanley Park, where we can marvel at its lush landscapes and scenic seawall.
If you would like to end your tour in Vancouver, then you may - our sightseeing tour will finish at approximately 2pm. We will then complete our journey back to Seattle in the United States, arriving back in the city at approximately 8pm.
