Day 1 - Liberia - Arenal
On arrival at Daniel Oduber International Airport (LIR), we meet you for a private transfer and set off towards the country’s northern lowlands. The drive reveals tropical scenery and rural life en route to Arenal. On arrival, we continue to your hotel for check in and you have the remainder of the day at leisure to unwind in the gardens, soak in the thermal pools, and enjoy first views of the majestic Arenal Volcano. Overnight in Arenal.
Day 2 - Arenal
After breakfast, we devote the morning to nature and wildlife. We begin with a guided Sloth Tour – ideal for children – learning about local biodiversity with a strong chance of spotting sloths, along with birds, frogs and other tropical creatures. We then continue on a gentle Nature Wildlife Float with Wave Expeditions, a relaxing boat safari suitable for all ages, rounded off with a demonstration of homemade tortillas that showcases one of the nation’s classic culinary traditions. We return to the hotel and you enjoy the afternoon at leisure. Overnight in Arenal.
Day 3 - Arenal
Today we turn up the excitement with a Pure Trek canyoning adventure – a fully guided and safety focused experience for thrill seekers in the heart of nature. We descend waterfalls, follow rainforest trails and spend time beside crystal clear rivers amid lush vegetation, with expert guides and specialised equipment ensuring both fun and safety. The afternoon is free for you to relax and enjoy the hotel facilities. Overnight in Arenal.
Day 4 - Monteverde
After breakfast, we take a private transfer into the Monteverde highlands, celebrated for its cloud forest and exceptional biodiversity. On arrival, we check in to your hotel, beautifully positioned with sweeping views towards the Gulf of Nicoya. As night falls, we join a Kinkajou Night Walk led by a naturalist guide – a fascinating exploration of the forest’s secretive side, where insects, amphibians, reptiles and nocturnal mammals emerge after dark. Overnight in Monteverde.
Day 5 - Monteverde
Today is dedicated to Monteverde’s signature experiences at Selvatura Park. We soar through the canopy on the zipline course for a treetop perspective of the cloud forest, wander the Hanging Bridges for a peaceful look at flora and birdlife, and visit the Butterfly Garden for a colourful and insightful encounter with the butterfly life cycle and its ecological importance. We return to the hotel and you enjoy your final evening in the mountains. Overnight in Monteverde.
Day 6 - Monteverde - Liberia
After breakfast, we provide a private transfer from Monteverde to Daniel Oduber International Airport (LIR), bringing an enriching journey to a close as you depart with wonderful memories and photographs.
