Tip for your tour guide - we recommend you allow USD$8 per day, per traveller for your guide, though ultimately tipping is an entirely personal gesture
Entrance Fees: USD$110-120pp, paid in local currency
Tipping Kitty: USD$70-90pp, paid in local currency
Tipping is not a natural part of many Western cultures and many of us feel uncomfortable, or unsure, about when, or how much, to tip. However, in the places you will visit, tipping makes up a significant part of many people's wages so it's important that we get it right. For this reason we've developed a very simple system to take all the hassle out of tipping. With our 'tipping made easy' policy, a nominal pre-determined amount is collected from all group tour participants to cover tips en route. This then saves you the hassle of when and how much to tip bellhops, luggage handlers, local guides and other support staff through the tour. Our 'tipping made easy' doesn't include a tip to your group tour leader. Naturally, though, the amount is up to you as tipping is an entirely personal gesture.

Cairo - Luxor. Today we embark on a guided tour of the Grand Egyptian Museum, an extraordinary 490,000 sq.m complex that houses over 100,000 artefacts and will eventually showcase a giant exhibition featuring the treasures of King Tutankhamun. Many of the items on display are being exhibited for the first time, with artefacts gathered from across Egypt and the world.

Next, we visit the Egyptian Museum in Cairo, home to an extensive collection of statues, jewellery, and sarcophagi. Among its treasures are several remarkably well-preserved mummies, including those of Yuya and Thuyu, high-ranking nobles and the great-grandparents of King Tutankhamun. After exploring this incredible site we travel on to visit the striking limestone, colonnaded Temple of Hatshepsut, who was one of only three Egyptian ruling queens. On the West Bank we'll also see the imposing 18m-high Colossi of Memnon, which are all that remains of the temple of the hedonistic Amenophis III.

Tour Reviews

Don’t use the sleeper train until it has been either properly cleaned or updated. Too many wasted days on the tour. 1 day lost waiting from 8.30am to 4.15pm on the Nile cruiser for the train from Aswan to Cairo. 1 day lost after sleeper train from Cairo to Luxor as nobody slept.

IT WAS FANTASTIC!!! We loved the variety of experiences our Egypt trip had to offer. The tour was very well designed. Our tour guide, Amir (affectionately known to our group as Amor) was fun, passionate, adaptable, helpful & went well beyond expectations to ensure we were cared for & accommodated.

It was all an amazing experience - exceeded all expectations! We were fortunate to be travelling with a wonderful group of travelers, but it was our tour guide AMIR that made it such a memorable experience. Nothing was too much trouble whilst his knowledge of the ancient sites was the best!

he was extremely knowledgeable and was in total command of egyptian history

I had a wonderful time!!! Everyone was so nice and Medo is the best tour guide ever. The only thing that wasn't absolutely excellent was the overnight sleeper train. It was loud and noisy - very hard to sleep - but an adventure. I absolutely loved the camel ride, Dendera, Kom Ombo and Philae!
