Itinerary
Day 1 - Cairo
On arrival at Cairo International Airport, we meet and assist with visa formalities and luggage, then transfer you comfortably to your city hotel – sit back as lively streets slip by and first glimpses of the capital unfold. Once checked in, you have time at leisure to relax, sample a local café or simply absorb the city’s vibrant atmosphere before the journey continues.
Day 2 - Giza
We stand in awe before the Great Pyramids of Giza – the last surviving Wonder of the Ancient World – learning about their construction and the pharaohs who commissioned these monumental tombs. We then continue to Saqqara to discover Egypt’s first pyramid, the Step Pyramid of King Djoser – a groundbreaking leap in architecture that illuminates the early evolution of royal burials.
Day 3 - Cairo
We begin with an early visit to the Egyptian Museum, home to one of the world’s greatest collections of ancient artefacts – including the treasures of Tutankhamun – offering a compelling glimpse into royal Egypt. We then explore the Citadel of Saladin, its grand mosques and palaces commanding sweeping views across the city, before weaving through the storied lanes of Khan El Khalili Bazaar, alive with crafts, spices, jewellery, textiles and traditional cafés. As evening falls, we unwind on a dinner cruise along the Nile, dining as Cairo’s skyline glimmers and live entertainment, traditional music and local dance set the scene.
Day 4 - Cairo - Alexandria
Leaving Cairo, we journey north through the Nile Delta to the Mediterranean, where Alexandria awaits. We explore the Roman Amphitheatre, its marble seating still evoking performances long past, then continue to the Citadel of Qaitbay – raised on the site of the ancient lighthouse – to walk its sea–battered walls and savour expansive views. We descend into the Catacombs of Kom el Shoqafa, a remarkable fusion of Egyptian, Greek and Roman styles in a subterranean setting, before unwinding amid the Montazah Palace Gardens’ coastal greenery. After our sightseeing, we drive south to Cairo, relaxing as the shoreline recedes and the capital returns.
Day 5 - Cairo
Enjoy free time in Cairo – you might relax, linger in a café or wander the lively streets – before onward travel. We arrange your transfer from the hotel to the airport for your departing flight, giving you a moment to reflect on an unforgettable journey through Egypt.
