You will most likely arrive in Italy at Bologna's Guglielmo Marconi Airport or the Ancona Airport Raffaello Sanzio. Make your own way to our accommodation in Gabicce Mare, a charming seaside town on the Adriatic coast. Once settled in, the rest of the day is yours to spend at your leisure. You might choose to take a relaxing walk along the beach promenade, explore the local cafes and shops, or simply unwind, enjoying the views of the Adriatic Sea and surrounding hills.
In the evening, join your fellow travellers for a welcome dinner at the hotel, where you’ll have the chance to get to know one another and enjoy a taste of local cuisine.
Today you can get to know Gabicce Mare at leisure, with its sandy beach, cafés, and restaurants. If you're feeling energetic, you could take a walk up the hill to Gabicce Monte, where you'll be rewarded with beautiful views over the San Bartolo Natural Park and the rolling hills of the Marche countryside.
Gabicce Mare - Ravenna - Gabicce Mare. Today, we’ll enjoy an included full-day excursion to Ravenna, which is renowned for its extensive Christian and Byzantine mosaics, all of which hold UNESCO World Heritage status. We’ll embark on a guided walking tour of this historic city, once the last capital of the Western Roman Empire, before spending the afternoon at leisure for sightseeing and shopping of our choice. We will enjoy dinner back at our hotel in Gabbice Mare.
Today, you are free to enjoy yourself in Gabicce Mare and its beautiful surroundings. You can relax on the sandy beach, explore the charming streets lined with local shops, or enjoy a leisurely meal at one of the town's cafés or restaurants. If you prefer, you could take a stroll along the promenade, soaking in the stunning views of the Adriatic Sea and the nearby hills. The choice is yours to make the most of this picturesque seaside town.
Alternatively, you can opt to enjoy a optional full-day excursion to Urbino and Pesaro. You’ll visit the walled hilltop village of Urbino, once at the heart of the Renaissance and the birthplace of the artist Raphael (entrance to Raphael’s House is included). After some free time for lunch (at your own leisure), you’ll head to the coastal resort of Pesaro for a walking tour through its historic streets, including Via Rossini, named after the famous composer who was born here.
Please note: The optional trip to Urbino and Pesaro must be booked in advance - please contact us if you would like to book in this excursion. If the required number of participants have not booked this optional tour, it will not go ahead.
Gabicce Mare - Bologna - Gabicce Mare. This morning, we’ll depart by coach for our full-day excursion to Bologna, one of Italy's most beautiful cities. We’ll begin our visit with a walking tour of the traditional food markets that the Emilia Romagna region is famous for, before enjoying some free time at leisure. In the afternoon, we’ll tour the historic centre, where highlights include Piazza Maggiore with Neptune’s Fountain and St Petronio's Basilica. On our way back to the hotel, we’ll stop at the Gelato Museum for a sweet treat. Dinner and overnight at our hotel.
You’ll have another free day to do as you wish, whether that’s relaxing at the hotel, doing a bit of shopping, or enjoying some more sightseeing. Why not take a stroll along the beach or savour an al fresco lunch while overlooking the Adriatic? As always, your expert guide will be happy to suggest local attractions and activities for you to enjoy.
Gabicce Mare - San Marino - Gabicce Mare. After breakfast, we’ll embark on an excursion to the Republic of San Marino, the world’s oldest republic and one of the smallest independent countries in the world. We’ll take a guided walking tour through San Marino’s narrow, charming streets and historic landmarks, before riding a cable car to the top of Mount Titano, where we’ll enjoy breathtaking views of the countryside. After a fun day of exploration, we return to Gabbice Mare for our final night.
