Day 2 - Warsaw
We begin with a panoramic tour of Warsaw with a local guide – a dynamic capital where modern architecture meets carefully restored heritage. We stroll through the Old Town – including the Royal Palace and cobbled streets – rebuilt after the Second World War and now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We see the Palace of Culture, reflect on the area of the former Jewish ghetto and wander through Łazienki Park with the Chopin Monument. Your afternoon is free – you might visit the National Museum or the Warsaw Rising Museum, or explore the lively city centre.
Day 3 - Warsaw - Olsztyn - Elblag Canal - Malbork - Gdansk
After breakfast we travel north. Our first stop is Olsztynek to visit the open–air Museum of Folk Architecture (admission included), with wooden houses, old mills and a traditional church. We continue to the Elbląg Canal to visit a museum in the area where boats are hauled over land on rails to overcome height differences. Next is Malbork for a tour of its vast castle (admission included – green route), a 13th–century Teutonic stronghold and UNESCO site. We reach Gdańsk in the evening, and you may like to take an atmospheric stroll through the historic centre.
Day 4 - Gdansk - Sopot - Ferry Sopot Karlskrona
After breakfast we visit the European Solidarity Centre, including the monument to the fallen workers. Admission to the Museum of the Second World War is also included. After time to explore the historic centre, we continue to Sopot, a Baltic resort with a long sandy beach and one of Europe’s longest wooden piers. In the evening we board a modern ferry – cruise–style – for Sweden. Scheduled departure is 07:30 p.m., with overnight cabins and breakfast included.
Day 5 - Ferry Sopot Karlskrona - Vastervik - Stockholm
After a smooth crossing we reach Karlskrona around 06:30 a.m. We continue towards Stockholm, pausing in Västervik, a pretty seaside town with a picturesque historic centre. By afternoon we arrive in Stockholm, a beautiful capital spread across fourteen islands linked by bridges and ferries. The rest of the day is yours – you might wander the historic centre or visit museums and parks.
Day 6 - Stockholm
Today we take a panoramic tour. We explore Gamla Stan – the lively Old Town – with its monumental buildings including the Nobel Prize Museum beside Stortorget, the Cathedral and the Royal Palace. When possible we enjoy the views from the Fjällgatan viewpoint. Afterwards, you have leisure time – you might visit museums and parks, or optionally the City Hall and the Vasa Museum.
Day 7 - Stockholm - Stockholm - Turku Ferry
Enjoy a free day in Stockholm. In the evening we board a modern ferry for an overnight journey to Finland, with accommodation in double en–suite cabins.
Day 8 - Stockholm - Turku Ferry - Naantali - Helsinki
On arrival in Finland, we recommend heading to the deck at sunrise to admire the seascapes as we pass the Åland Islands. After disembarkation there is time to explore Turku, a city with a strong Swedish influence. We continue to nearby Naantali, noted for its wooden houses by the sea, before travelling on to Helsinki. After lunch we take a public ferry to the Suomenlinna Islands to visit the impressive sea fortress – a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You then have time to wander this unique group of islands, linked by small pedestrian bridges, and enjoy the fortress walls and Baltic views. We return to Helsinki by boat and transfer to the hotel.
Day 9 - Helsinki - Helsinki - Tallinn Ferry - Tallinn
Enjoy a free morning in Finland’s capital. In the afternoon we take a ferry to Estonia, a journey of about 2 hours 30 minutes – we recommend enjoying the views of Helsinki and its surrounding islands as we sail. Arrival in Tallinn.
Day 10 - Tallinn
Tallinn has preserved its medieval core superbly. We take a panoramic tour of the city – its walls, churches, squares and cobbled streets brimming with sights. The afternoon is free for you to explore.
Day 11 - Tallinn - Parnu - Turaida - Sigulda - Salaspils - Riga
We travel through forests and plains to reach Pärnu, a popular seaside resort, then continue into Latvia. An included lunch is provided before we visit the medieval Turaida Castle (admission included), set within a large sculpture–dotted park. You can then take a walk in Sigulda, a small and charming town amid beautiful landscapes. We continue towards Riga, stopping at the Salaspils Memorial on the site of a former Nazi–period concentration camp – one of the largest monumental complexes in Europe since 1967 – and arrive in the evening.
Day 12 - Riga
We include a panoramic tour of Riga, the most populous city in the Baltic states, where traces of the Soviet era remain. Renowned for its cultural life, medieval Historic Centre and outstanding Art Nouveau architecture, Riga rewards unhurried wandering. The afternoon is free for you to explore at leisure.
