Upon arrival at Tunis International Airport, our team will welcome you and assist with your transfer to the hotel in Tunis, the country’s capital and largest city. If you prefer to rest after your journey, you can relax and enjoy the hotel’s facilities. Alternatively, you may choose to explore the city at your own pace. Overnight stay in Tunis.
Day 2 - Tunis - Sidi Bousaid - Carthage - Tunis
After breakfast at the hotel, we begin the day with a visit to the charming village of Sidi Bou Said, famous for its whitewashed walls, blue doors and windows, and stunning views over the Mediterranean Sea. Next, we continue to Carthage, set along a beautiful coastline. Although the ancient city was destroyed by the Romans, you will explore the impressive archaeological remains, including homes, baths and ancient sewage systems. Nearby is the Amphitheatre of Carthage, originally built in the 1st century and later rebuilt by the Romans; it now hosts the annual International Music Festival of Carthage, welcoming up to 30,000 visitors. After lunch, we head into central Tunis to visit the National Museum of Bardo, renowned for its extensive mosaic collection and housed in a former beylical palace within the old city. The day concludes with a stroll through the ancient Medina of Tunis. The remainder of the afternoon and evening are at your leisure. Overnight in Tunis.
Day 3 - Tunis - Bulla Regia - Dougga - Kairouan
After breakfast, we travel to Dougga, one of Tunisia’s most impressive archaeological sites and a UNESCO World Heritage location. Dougga offers some of the best-preserved Roman ruins in the region, reflecting a rich history that includes Roman, Punic and Byzantine influences. Here, we explore key monuments such as the Capitol and the Theatre. Following a local lunch, we continue to Bulla Regia, a town known for its unique semi-subterranean Roman houses built during Hadrian’s reign to provide relief from the intense heat. Many original mosaic floors remain in situ, while others are displayed at the Bardo Museum in Tunis. After the visit, we proceed to Kairouan, where you will have the rest of the day at leisure. Overnight in Kairouan.
Day 4 - Kairouan - Sufetula - Makthar - Kairouan
After breakfast at the hotel, we visit the Roman ruins of Sufetula, home to some of the best-preserved Roman forum temples in Tunisia. This site also marks the entry point of the Muslim conquest of North Africa. Following lunch, we continue to Makthar, a strategic fortress built by the Numidians in the 3rd century BC to control trade routes between Sbeitla, Kairouan, and El Kef. After exploring Makthar, we return to the hotel in Kairouan, where you can enjoy the remainder of the day at your leisure.
Day 5 - Kairouan - El Jem - Sousse - Hammamet
After breakfast, meet your guide for a walk through the old Medina of Kairouan, culminating at the Great Mosque, a central landmark renowned for its architectural and spiritual significance. Next, visit the Aghlabid Pools – two large basins and cisterns that have endured for centuries, originally built to supply scarce drinking water. Following lunch, travel to El Djem to explore its impressive Roman amphitheatre, the second largest of its kind, constructed in the 3rd century and historically used for gladiator contests. The day concludes with a leisurely stroll around the harbour at Port El Kantaoui, where you can browse for souvenirs or relax with a Tunisian coffee or fresh juice. Later, transfer to your hotel in Hammamet for an evening at your leisure.
