Kicking off in Istanbul and ending back in the city, this seven day tour tracks Turkey’s epic history – from the Gallipoli battlefields and ANZAC sites to ancient Troy and Pergamon. You’ll wander Ephesus and the Temple of Artemis, sip fruit wines in Sirince, and see carpet weaving. Expect to see Pamukkale’s travertines and Hierapolis – soak in thermal pools. Follow the Silk Road via Sultanhani and Konya’s Mevlana Museum, on to Cappadocia’s fairy chimneys, Goreme Open Air Museum and an underground city. Wrap up in Ankara at Ataturk’s Anitkabir before returning to Istanbul – optional folklore night in Cappadocia available.

Day 1 - Gallipoli & Canakkale
You meet your tour guide at 08:30 at your hotel, then depart Istanbul early for the Gallipoli Peninsula – one of Turkey’s most poignant sites. Visit the First World War battlefields, including the Lone Pine and Chunuk Bair memorials, ANZAC Cove, Johnston’s Jolly, The Nek and original trenches and tunnels. The night is spent in Canakkale.
Day 2 - Troy & Pergamon
This morning, step back in time at Troy – a UNESCO World Heritage site – exploring the ancient city and the award–winning Troy Museum. You continue to Bergama and ascend to the magnificent acropolis of Pergamon – whose impressive temples and library made it a renowned cultural and political centre. Continue to Kusadasi for the night.
Day 3 - Ephesus & Sirince
Today you delve into history with a guided tour of Ephesus and a visit to the site of the Temple of Artemis. Soak up the atmosphere of the ancient city and theatre before continuing to the former Greek village of Sirince, famed for its fruit wines. You also visit a carpet village to learn how hand–woven pieces are made and what determines their value.
Day 4 - Pamukkale & Hierapolis
This morning, enjoy a display of locally handcrafted leather goods, then head to Pamukkale’s dazzling white travertine terraces, where you also tour the ancient city of Hierapolis. You can take a dip among ancient columns in the thermal springs once used in Roman times for their therapeutic qualities.
Day 5 - Konya & Cappadocia
Today, you travel the ancient Silk Road, visiting Sultanhani Caravanserai and the Mevlana Museum in Konya along the way. This evening you may choose to join an optional traditional Turkish folklore show.
Day 6 - Exploring Cappadocia
Marvel at Cappadocia’s otherworldly landscapes as you explore the Goreme Valley Open–Air Museum, its fairy chimneys and the many levels of an underground city.
Day 7 - Ankara & Return to Istanbul
You depart early for the nation’s capital, Ankara, where you visit Anitkabir – the mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk – before returning to Istanbul. The tour concludes on arrival in Istanbul at approximately 7pm.
