St David's & Tenby
Bristol - St David's - Tenby. Departing Bristol this morning, we make for South Wales, stopping first in St David's. This is the smallest city in Britain, awarded this status thanks to its 12th century cathedral in the heart of the town. We have time for a wander, so you can go and have a look for yourself.
This afternoon we embark on a scenic drive along the Pembrokeshire coast. Our itinerary is flexible, and the guide will see what you fancy doing on the day. We can see ancient woodlands, biodiverse estuaries and lush valleys before arriving in Tenby, our base for tonight.
Accommodation: Southcliff Guest House or similar.
Please note: Check-in closes at 08:15 on day 1 (tour departs at 08:30) - Bristol Pick-Up, DoubleTree by Hilton, Redcliffe Way, Bristol, BS1 6NJ.
Overnight: Tenby
Onwards to Abergavenny
Tenby - Laugharne - Abergavenny. This morning is free for you to explore Tenby, this 9th century town is home to a ruined castle and plenty else to see and do.
Our first visit of the day is Laugharne, where famous Welsh poet Dylan Thomas lived in a boathouse from 1949 until his death in 1953. The house is open to the public if you would like to visit. Alternatively, there are plenty of traditional pubs to try. From Laugharne, we move on to Carreg Cennen Castle, which sits on a rocky outcrop overlooking the River Cennen. We explore the ruins before making the picturesque journey through the mountains of Bannau Brycheiniog National Park to Abergavenny.

Exploring the Wye Valley
Abergavenny - Hay-on-Wye - Ross-on-Wye - Tintern Abbey - Chepstow - Bristol. The final day of our tour begins with a stop in Hay-on-Wye, best known for its plethora of second-hand and antiquarian bookshops. There's free time to take a wander before we move on to Ross-on-Wye, a much-loved market town filed with quaint shops and pubs.
After free time for lunch, we drive through the scenic Wye Valley, birthplace of the Industrial Revolution. We make a stop at Tintern Abbey to see the now roofless building which dates to the 12th century and sits on the banks of the River Wye.
Our final stop is Chepstow. Here we can see the remains of the town's Norman castle before we complete our journey back to Bristol.

Bed & Breakfast, Tenby
On this tour, you will stay in bed and breakfast properties (B&Bs). These are usually smaller residential properties, with just a handful of guest rooms. You’ll have a bedroom, bathroom and often, access to a communal dining room for breakfast. Rooms will always be clean and comfortable, with a private bathroom. Bathrooms are usually en-suite, but on rare occasions, access may be via a communal hallway. This means that the bathroom will still be private and only for your personal use, but it is not en-suite (located in the room). You will need to leave the room to use the bathroom.
