Jodhpur, Ranakpur & Udaipur

On arrival at Jodhpur airport, we meet you and arrange a smooth transfer to your hotel. After settling in, enjoy breakfast at the hotel, then we head out on a city tour. We explore Mehrangarh Fort – the imposing hilltop stronghold with wide views over the Blue City – taking in its palaces, courtyards and museums. We continue to Jaswant Thada, the marble cenotaph of Maharaja Jaswant Singh II, noted for its delicate carvings and calm setting. We then visit Umaid Bhawan Palace, an architectural blend of Rajput and European styles that reflects the city’s royal heritage. We finish the day at Mandore Gardens, home to historic temples, cenotaphs and finely carved statues set among leafy grounds. Overnight at hotel.

After breakfast, we drive from Jodhpur to Ranakpur (approx. 155 kilometres – around 3 hours) through the Aravalli Hills. On arrival, we check in to the hotel with time to freshen up before visiting the celebrated Ranakpur Jain Temple complex, renowned for its luminous marble work and 1,444 individually carved pillars. We take time to appreciate the calm, contemplative atmosphere and the remarkable craftsmanship on display. Overnight at the hotel.

After breakfast we depart Ranakpur for Kumbhalgarh – a drive of about 35 kilometres taking around one hour. On arrival we check in, then head to Kumbhalgarh Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We explore its vast ramparts – stretching over 36 kilometres and the second-longest continuous wall after the Great Wall of China – along with the fort’s palaces, temples and gardens that reflect Rajasthan’s architectural heritage. As evening approaches, we walk the ramparts to enjoy panoramic views across the Aravalli Hills as the light fades. Overnight at the hotel.

Kumbhalgarh – Udaipur (85 km – around 1 hour). After a leisurely breakfast, we set out on a safari in Kumbhalgarh National Park, exploring its rugged terrain and forested slopes. Keep an eye out for wildlife such as leopards, sloth bears and deer. After the safari, we drive to Udaipur, the City of Lakes, and check in on arrival. You can take time to unwind before we head out for an evening boat ride on Lake Pichola, passing landmarks including the Lake Palace and Jag Mandir. Overnight at the hotel.

We begin at the City Palace – a vast complex of palaces, courtyards and gardens with panoramic views over Lake Pichola that reflects the legacy of the Mewar dynasty. We then visit the 17th century Jagdish Temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu and noted for its intricate carvings, followed by a peaceful walk through Saheliyon Ki Bari with its marble pavilions and ornamental fountains. Later, we explore Shilpgram Art and Craft Village to see traditional skills in practice – from pottery and textile weaving to jewellery making – and meet local artisans. You can then wander the city’s markets to browse colourful textiles, handicrafts and souvenirs at your own pace. In the evening we head to Bagore ki Haveli for the Dharohar cultural show featuring Rajasthani music, dance and puppetry. Overnight at hotel.

After a leisurely breakfast in Udaipur, we arrange check-out and organise your transfer to the airport in time for your onward flight. Depending on your schedule, you can visit Sajjangarh Palace or spend some relaxing time at Fateh Sagar Lake before departure. Leave Udaipur with lasting memories of Rajasthan’s history, culture and architecture.
