Day 1 - Mexico City
Welcome to Mexico City. We’ll transfer you to your hotel – you then have the rest of the day free to relax or start exploring at your own pace. Our guide will contact you late in the afternoon.
Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Mexico City
A full day of discovery in Mexico City. In the morning we travel to Xochimilco to glide along its canals and semi‑floating gardens on a traditional trajinera – colourful boats decorated with flowers. We then continue with a panoramic tour of the city, taking in the Plaza of the Three Cultures, the historic centre with the Zócalo, the Metropolitan Cathedral and the Aztec Templo Mayor, as well as Chapultepec Park, Paseo de la Reforma and the city’s principal avenues. You will have free time for lunch at the Zócalo.After lunch we visit the Basilica of Guadalupe, the most visited Catholic shrine in the Americas, where we see both the old 18th century basilica and the modern temple. In the evening we head to Plaza Garibaldi, known for its cantinas, restaurants and bars where tacos and tequila are served and Mariachi bands perform. Dinner is included at a typical Mexican restaurant.
Day 3 - Mexico City - Cholula - Puebla - Mexico City
We depart Mexico City for the state of Puebla, stopping en route at the Ex Hacienda de Chautla – entrance included – an 18th–century estate famed for its English–style castle set on an artificial lake surrounded by forests. We continue to Cholula to see its picturesque main square and the Sanctuary of Our Lady of the Remedies, known for its panoramic views. On arrival in Puebla, you’ll have free time for lunch before we take a panoramic tour of this historic city, renowned for its culinary tradition, colonial architecture and Talavera pottery, with highlights such as its grand Renaissance–style cathedral and lively Zócalo. We then return to Mexico City, arriving at around 8.30 pm.
Day 4 - Mexico City
We include breakfast at the hotel, after which our services conclude. Your transfer from the hotel to the airport is not included – you will need to arrange this independently.
