Day 1 - Porto
On arrival at Porto Airport, you will be greeted by an English-speaking driver who will transfer you directly to your city-centre hotel. After check-in, you may choose to rest and make use of the hotel’s facilities if you feel tired from your journey. Alternatively, if you’re eager to begin exploring, take a leisurely walk through Porto’s charming streets and immerse yourself in the city’s distinctive culture. Overnight in Porto.
Day 2 - Porto
After breakfast at the hotel, we begin a half-day tour of Porto, the capital of Portugal's Northern Region. We start in the heart of Porto's Historic City Centre, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, wandering through narrow, cobbled streets lined with colourful buildings that reflect the city's rich history. You will see a range of architectural styles, from medieval to baroque, and experience the lively atmosphere of this charming area. Next, we visit Porto S?, the city's cathedral. This impressive building combines Romanesque, Gothic and Baroque elements and sits atop a hill, offering panoramic views of the city. While the tour includes an external visit, take a moment to appreciate the detailed fa?ade and the striking rose window. We conclude the tour at São Bento Train Station, renowned for its grand hall adorned with over 20,000 decorative tiles that depict scenes from Portuguese history. You then have the rest of the day at leisure to explore Porto further.
Day 3 - Porto
After breakfast at the hotel, enjoy a full day at your leisure in Porto. Take the opportunity to explore the city centre at your own pace. If you enjoy shopping, visit Santa Catarina Street – a lively pedestrian thoroughfare known for its variety of shops and pleasant atmosphere, ideal for a relaxed stroll. Overnight in Porto.
Day 4 - Porto - Guimarães - Braga - Porto
After breakfast, we set off for a full-day tour to Braga and Guimar?es. Begin with a visit to Guimar?es Castle, a medieval fortress that stands as a symbol of Portugal's origins. From there, explore the historic centre of Guimar?es, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, wandering its well-preserved medieval streets lined with traditional houses and shops. Key highlights include Plaza de Santiago and Largo da Oliveira, where Gothic, Baroque and Romanesque architecture create a rich historical atmosphere. Next, travel to Braga, one of Portugal's oldest cities. Visit Braga Cathedral, notable for its blend of Romanesque and Baroque styles, before continuing to the Bom Jesus Sanctuary. Here, the striking baroque staircase, adorned with statues and fountains, leads up to the church and offers impressive views of the surrounding landscape. Finally, visit the Sameiro Sanctuary, a neoclassical basilica dedicated to the Immaculate Conception, perched on a hilltop with panoramic views over Braga and the countryside. Take a moment to enjoy the peaceful setting before returning to Porto for your overnight stay.
Day 5 - Porto
After breakfast at the hotel, enjoy a free day to explore Porto at your own pace. We suggest returning to the lively Ribeira District, where you can savour a leisurely lunch at one of the riverside restaurants. Complement your meal with a local wine, such as a crisp Vinho Verde or a rich Douro red, while taking in views of the Douro River. Overnight in Porto.
Day 6 - Porto
After breakfast, we will collect you from the hotel reception at the arranged time and transfer you to Porto Airport for your onward journey.
