Day 2 - Discovering Tbilisi

After breakfast, at 9am set out on a comprehensive city tour of Tbilisi, taking you through the heart of Georgia’s vibrant capital. Begin at the iconic Narikala Fortress, overlooking the city and offering sweeping views across Tbilisi’s diverse landscape.
Walk across the striking Bridge of Peace and continue to the Abanotubani district, where you pass the renowned sulphur baths - the very source of Tbilisi’s founding and a lasting symbol of its cultural heritage. In the enchanting Old Town and the lively Sharden area, explore a maze of cobbled streets filled with charming houses and hidden courtyards, where centuries of history are woven into everyday life. You will also see the distinctive Rezo Gabriadze Clock Tower, one of the city’s most memorable landmarks.
During your tour, visit Sioni Cathedral and Anchiskhati Basilica, two of the city’s most significant religious sites. Here, you gain a deeper understanding of Georgia’s rich history and cultural heritage. The tour will come to an end around 4pm.
Day 3 - Telavi and the Heritage of Kakheti

Tbilisi - Telavi - Alaverdi - Tsinandali - Telavi. This morning at 9am, depart Tbilisi and drive to Telavi, a charming historic town in the heart of Georgia’s renowned Kakheti wine region. As you travel through the town, pass Batonis Tsikhe, an impressive fortress complex and fine example of medieval Georgian architecture. Nearby, see the legendary Giant Plane Tree, believed to be around 900 years old and deeply rooted in local folklore. Continue to Telavi’s bustling city market, where you can experience authentic local life, sample regional produce and browse a variety of traditional goods.
Your journey then continues to the striking Alaverdi Cathedral. Founded in the 11th century, this important religious site served as a major centre of education and spiritual life during the medieval period. Beyond its cultural and historical significance, the cathedral is set amidst beautiful natural surroundings, adding to its serene atmosphere.
Later, travel to Tsinandali to explore its most famous landmark — the Tsinandali Estate, home to the manor house museum dedicated to the life and work of the prominent 19th-century Georgian aristocrat, poet and military figure Prince Alexander Chavchavadze. After your visit, return to Telavi for the night.
Day 4 - Kakheti Wine Heritage & Sighnaghi

Telavi - Kvareli - Bodbe - Sighnaghi - Tbilisi. The day begins at 9am with a visit to the remarkable Kvareli Wine Cave, carved into the Caucasus rock massif and naturally maintained at the ideal temperature for wine storage and ageing. This unique setting provides an excellent introduction to Georgia’s ancient wine heritage. Widely regarded as the birthplace of wine, the country boasts an 8,000-year-old winemaking tradition, including the qvevri method, which is recognised by UNESCO for its cultural significance.
Your journey then continues to Bodbe Monastery, one of Georgia’s most important religious sites. Today, a nunnery stands on the grounds, while St. George Cathedral, part of the monastery complex, houses the remains of St. Nino, who brought Christianity to Georgia in the 4th century.
Next, explore Sighnaghi, a picturesque hilltop town overlooking the Alazani Valley. Often referred to as the City of Love, it is admired for its cobbled streets, traditional architecture and sweeping panoramic views across the valley.
Later in the day, return to Tbilisi.
Day 5 - Mtskheta, Gori & Arrival in Kutaisi

Tbilisi – Mtskheta – Gori – Kutaisi. After breakfast, depart at 9am for a short drive to Mtskheta, one of Georgia’s oldest towns and a former capital, offering a fascinating glimpse into the country’s rich past. Here, visit the magnificent Svetitskhoveli Cathedral — a masterpiece of medieval architecture and an important religious symbol. According to legend, Christ’s robe is buried within its walls.
The visit also includes Jvari Monastery, set on a hilltop with commanding views over the surrounding landscape and the confluence of the rivers below. Time is then spent exploring the quaint streets of Mtskheta, where the atmosphere of a bygone era can still be felt throughout this historic town.
Your journey continues to Gori for a visit to the Joseph Stalin Museum. The museum retains much of its Soviet-era character and includes the small wooden house where Stalin was born and spent his childhood.
Later in the day, travel onward to the charming town of Kutaisi for the night.
Day 6 - Kutaisi Highlights & Return to Tbilisi

Kutaisi – Tbilisi. Today at 9am, begin exploring the enchanting city of Kutaisi, wandering through its lively streets and experiencing the warm hospitality for which the region is known. A city tour introduces Kutaisi’s rich heritage, including landmarks such as the Colchis Fountain and the White Bridge. With its welcoming atmosphere and historic character, the city offers an authentic insight into western Georgia.
Continue to Bagrati Cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the country’s most significant cultural landmarks. Built in the 11th century during the reign of King Bagrat III, the cathedral stands as a symbol of Georgia’s Golden Age and a fine example of medieval Georgian architecture.
Next, visit the natural wonder of Prometheus Cave. While exploring its illuminated passages — including a boat ride along the underground river — impressive stalactites, stalagmites and cascading subterranean waterfalls can be admired. After the visit, return to Tbilisi for your final night.
Day 7 - Departure from Tbilisi
Today, depending on your departure flight time, you may have time for some last minute shopping, exploring or relaxation before being transferred to the airport for your onward flight.
