Itinerary
Day 1 - New Delhi - Delhi
Upon arrival at Indira Gandhi International Airport, you will be welcomed by a representative and transferred to your hotel. Delhi presents a striking contrast between the ‘old’ and the ‘new’. Old Delhi, once the Muslim capital from the 17th to 19th centuries, is rich with mosques, forts, monuments and bustling bazaars that retain a medieval atmosphere. In contrast, New Delhi, designed during the British imperial era, showcases impressive monuments reflecting the legacies of Mughal, Turk, Persian and British rulers. In the evening, we will hold a welcome briefing with your tour manager to outline the journey ahead. Overnight in Delhi.
Day 2 - Delhi
After breakfast, we set out on a full-day sightseeing tour of Delhi, exploring the highlights of both Old and New Delhi. Begin with a visit to the imposing Red Fort, the largest monument in Old Delhi (closed on Mondays). Nearby is Jama Masjid, the 17th-century mosque known as the ‘Friday Mosque’ and the largest in India. We then walk through the bustling bazaars of Chandni Chowk, experiencing the vibrant atmosphere of this historic market. Next, visit Raj Ghat, the simple black marble memorial marking the site of Mahatma Gandhi’s cremation. In New Delhi, we see India Gate, a war memorial dedicated to those who died in the First World War, and the grand avenue leading to the President’s House, flanked by Parliament and Secretariat buildings. The tour continues to Humayun’s Tomb, an important precursor to the Taj Mahal. Before returning to the hotel, we visit Qutub Minar, the tallest brick minaret in the world. Overnight in Delhi.
Day 3 - Delhi - Jaipur
After breakfast at the hotel, we travel to Jaipur, a city renowned for its royal cuisine, striking historical landmarks, vibrant markets and warm Rajput hospitality. Known as the ‘Pink City’ for its many rose-hued buildings, Jaipur’s distinctive colour is especially captivating at sunset when the soft golden light enhances the pink façades. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and enjoy the remainder of the afternoon at your leisure. Overnight in Jaipur.
Day 4 - Jaipur
After breakfast, we set off for a morning tour of Amber Fort, perched on a hill overlooking a lake. Though its sturdy, weathered walls appear formidable, inside you’ll find richly decorated palaces, temples and gardens. Highlights include the Sheesh Mahal, a dazzling chamber adorned with intricate mirror work, the frescoed Ganesh Pol gate and the colonnade of the Diwan-i-Aam. Returning to Jaipur’s old city, we visit the City Palace complex, home to the elegant Chandra Mahal and Mubarak Mahal palaces, the ornately decorated Peacock Gate and the Armoury Museum, which displays an impressive collection of royal weaponry. We then explore Jantar Mantar, the world’s largest stone astronomical observatory, featuring 14 geometric instruments designed to measure time, predict eclipses and track celestial movements. The day concludes with a photo stop at the striking Hawa Mahal, or Palace of the Winds, followed by a visit to Jaipur’s vibrant bazaars—Johari for jewels and saris, Tripolia for bronzes and lacquerware, Bapu for perfumes and textiles, and Chandpol for pottery and bracelets. Overnight in Jaipur.
Day 5 - Jaipur - Agra
After breakfast, we leave Jaipur and drive to Agra, situated on the banks of the River Yamuna. Agra gained prominence in the 17th century as the Mughal Empire’s capital, renowned for its gardens, waterfalls, bathhouses and canals. Today, the city is also known for its thriving crafts industry, including exquisite marble inlay work and carpets. Upon arrival, we check in to your hotel, allowing you time to settle in and prepare for the following day’s sightseeing. Overnight in Agra.
Day 6 - Agra - Delhi - Kherka Musalman
Begin the day with breakfast at the hotel before setting out on a sightseeing tour of Agra. Visit the magnificent Taj Mahal, an enduring symbol of love built in the mid-17th century by Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal. Take time to appreciate the exquisite craftsmanship of the 20,000 artisans from Persia, Turkey, France and Italy who contributed to this remarkable monument. (Please note the Taj Mahal is closed on Fridays.) Continue to Agra Fort, a formidable red sandstone fortress that houses several grand Mughal palaces. Explore the Diwan-i-Am, where the emperor addressed his subjects, and the Diwan-i-Khas, used for private audiences with dignitaries. Also visit the Mina Masjid, a serene white marble mosque within the fort complex. After the tour, drive back to Delhi and check in to your hotel for the evening.
Day 7 - Delhi - Bandoli
After breakfast, we will transfer you to Delhi Airport for your flight to Goa (flight not included). Upon arrival at Goa Airport, a representative will welcome you and escort you to your hotel. After check-in, you have the rest of the day at your leisure to explore Goa’s vibrant atmosphere or simply relax and enjoy the hotel’s facilities. Overnight in Goa.
Day 8 - Bandoli
After breakfast, we set out on a morning tour of Old Goa and Panaji. Begin with visits to the serene Hindu temples of Shantadurga, dedicated to the Goddess Parvati and Lord Naguesh, and the Ramnathi temple, devoted to Lord Rama. Next, explore Old Goa, the city’s former capital located 10 kilometres east of Panaji, where we visit the Portuguese-era Basilica of Bom Jesus. Continue to the Se Cathedral, reputedly the largest church in Asia, notable for its golden bell hanging above the façade. The tour concludes in Panaji, situated on the banks of the River Mandovi. Here, you can stroll through the charming old quarter, where Portuguese influence remains evident in the small squares and narrow lanes. There will be time for shopping before we return to the hotel. The afternoon is yours to relax or explore at leisure. Overnight in Goa.
Day 9 - Bandoli
After breakfast, enjoy a full day at leisure to unwind or explore Goa and its surroundings at your own pace. You might choose to relax on the golden-sand beaches, soak up the unique blend of Indian and Portuguese cultures, or sample the rich spices and flavours that define Goan cuisine. Overnight in Goa.
Day 10 - Bandoli
After breakfast, check out of your hotel and transfer to Goa Airport for your onward flight. This concludes your time in Goa and marks the end of this leg of your journey.
