Edinburgh - Culross - Inverness. Today we embark on an Outlander-themed journey from Edinburgh. Our first stop is Midhope Castle, Jamie's beloved Lallybroch. While the castle's interior is recreated in studios, we can sit on the iconic steps and await a glimpse of the characters passing through the archway.
Heading north, we visit the village of Culross, doubling as the fictional Cranesmuir. Wander its cobbled streets, taking a step back in time whilst exploring Culross Palace. In Falkland, we relive the show's early scenes set in 1940s Inverness, spotting familiar sights like Mrs Baird’s Guesthouses and the Bruce Fountain.
Leaving behind castles and villages, we journey through the Highlands. At the Newtonmore Highland Folk Museum, we explore replicas of 18th-century Highland crofts, reminiscent of MacKenzie clan villages in the series. Continuing north, we reach Inverness by early evening.
Please note: Check-in closes at 08:45 (tour departs at 09:00) - Edinburgh Bus Station Pick Up, Gate J and Gate K, inside Edinburgh Bus Station, St Andrew Square, Edinburgh, EH1 3DQ.

Inverness - Culloden - Inverness. We begin our day with a visit to the enigmatic Clava Cairns near Inverness, a stunning complex of ancient ring cairns and standing stones believed to inspire Craigh na Dun in Outlander. While time travel isn't promised, exploring this 4,000-year-old site feels like stepping into the past.
Next, we visit the Culloden Battlefield, significant in Scottish history and the Outlander series, where Jamie bid farewell before joining the Jacobite army, leading to the end of the Highland way of life. Journeying further to Clan Fraser lands, pay homage at the tomb of Lord Lovat, Jamie's manipulative grandfather in the saga.
After exploring key Outlander sites, we return to Inverness for another evening to discover the city's charms.
Accommodation: Dalmore, Pine Guest House, Aye Stay or similar
Inverness - Loch Ness - Fort William. Our day begins with a visit to the majestic Glen Affric, one of Scotland's most stunning glens, ideal for Jamie's hideaway. Continuing along Loch Ness, we pause at Urquhart Castle, standing proudly for 1,000 years amidst Highland drama. Here we explore its secrets and keep an eye out for Nessie.
Our journey then leads through the Great Glen to Glenfinnan, where a monument commemorates Bonnie Prince Charlie's fateful encounter that began the Jacobite Rising. Framed by Loch Shiel and the iconic Jacobite Steam Train railway line, this site captivates with its history and beauty.
Enthralled by our adventures, we conclude the day in Fort William, nestled beneath the towering Ben Nevis, Britain's tallest mountain.
2025 Itinerary change: Please note that from 1st April 2025, the stayover will be in Perth (instead of Fort William).

Fort William - Glencoe - Edinburgh. Our day kicks off with a scenic drive through Glencoe before traversing the rugged Trossachs area to reach Doune Castle, a significant ruin famously portraying Castle Leoch from the Outlander series. Later, we pause for a quick photo at Linlithgow Palace, linked to Mary, Queen of Scots, and featuring prominently as Wentworth Prison in Outlander.
Our final stop is Blackness Castle, a formidable fortress representing Fort William in the series. We can explore its ramparts and delve into the fictional world of Jack Randall. Having delved into the history and landscapes of Outlander, we return to Edinburgh in the early evening.
