Day 1 - Trondheim
Welcome to Trondheim, where your adventure begins. Upon arrival, we will arrange your transfer to the hotel. After checking in, take advantage of some free time to relax or explore this vibrant Norwegian city at your own pace. In the afternoon, you can find detailed information about the commencement of your tour on the notice boards at the hotel reception, ensuring you are all set for the exciting journey ahead. Enjoy your first glimpse of this charming city, known for its rich history, charming streets, and welcoming atmosphere. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Trondheim - Kristiansund - Atlantic Road - Molde
On the second day, after immersing ourselves in the vibrant atmosphere of Trondheim, we'll continue our journey along the breathtaking Norwegian coastline. We'll take in sweeping views of the fjords that grace this stretch of the Norwegian Sea. A ferry crossing over one of these majestic fjords will bring us to Kristiansund, a city known for its picturesque natural beauty and rich fishing heritage, set across multiple islands linked by bridges and embankments. In the charming city centre, you can wander the cobblestone streets lined with shops, restaurants, and cafés, where you'll have time to enjoy a leisurely lunch.Later, we'll travel through stunning landscapes to visit Kvernes Stave Church, a captivating 14th-century structure that features remarkable 300-year-old ship models and altarpieces dedicated to the Virgin Mary (admission included). Our route then extends along the renowned Atlantic Road, celebrated as one of the world's most scenic coastal drives. This dramatic stretch across eight bridges connecting numerous islands offers breathtaking views, particularly when the ocean waves crash against the coastline. We'll pause at one of its picturesque viewpoints to take in the surroundings before concluding our day in Molde by evening. This bustling town, nestled along its fjord, frequently welcomes cruise ships and offers a warm and vibrant atmosphere.
Day 3 - Molde - Geiranger - Briksdalsbreen - Loen
Today promises a stunning journey through some of Norway's most breathtaking landscapes. Our day begins with a scenic ferry crossing over the Romsdal Fjord, lasting about 50 minutes and showcasing the region's dramatic beauty. As we ascend into the snow-capped mountains, we eventually descend to the tranquil Storfjorden with its awe-inspiring vistas. A 30-minute ferry ride follows, offering views of towering peaks as we head towards the Eagle Viewpoint. Here, we'll have the opportunity to savour one of Norway's most spectacular views overlooking the majestic Geiranger Fjord.Upon reaching Geiranger, you'll have time to explore this charming village, set against a backdrop that is considered one of the world's most beautiful landscapes and a designated World Heritage Site. You might choose to embark on a boat trip along the fjord, wander by the cascading waterfalls flowing into the town, or simply unwind amidst the picturesque surroundings. After lunch, our journey takes us through terrain of impressive mountain vistas and fjords to Briksdalsbreen. This stirring glacier, set in a stunning natural environment, provides a chance for a memorable hike from the base to the glacier itself, either on foot or by opting for an electric vehicle. We'll end the day in Loen with an included dinner and an overnight stay. This delightful town by the fjord offers the possibility to take one of the steepest cable car rides in the world, rising over 1,000 metres above sea level, for those keen on more thrilling experiences.
Day 4 - Loen - Bergen
On day four, we’ll embark on an early departure, traversing nearly 300 km of Norway's breathtaking landscapes en route to Bergen. This picturesque journey encompasses stunning fjord views, traversing mountain ranges, and a delightful ferry ride. We aim to reach Bergen around lunchtime, where we have organised a cable car ascent to the top of Fløyen Mountain, offering panoramic views over this vibrant city. Afterwards, you’ll have free time to delve into Bergen's rich offerings. Explore Bryggen, the historic wharf adorned with its charming, brightly coloured wooden buildings, recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. For those interested in marine life, a visit to the Aquarium could be appealing, or perhaps you'd prefer to wander through the bustling fish market, home to many quaint eateries.
Day 5 - Bergen - Eidfjord - Voringfossen - Geilo - Oslo
Departing Bergen in the early hours, our adventure delves into the heart of Norway, showcasing some of its most breathtaking landscapes. We begin by traversing the awe-inspiring Hardanger Fjord via its grand suspension bridge, renowned for its stunning beauty. Our first pause is in Eidfjord, a quaint town nestled on the fjord's edge, providing a perfect spot for appreciating the serene surroundings. The highlight of our day is a visit to Vøringfossen, often hailed as Norway's most magnificent waterfall, with its impressive 182-metre cascade. Here, we will have the opportunity to explore various viewpoints and bridges that promise spectacular views of the falls.Our journey continues across vast high plateaus, marked by small lakes—frozen for much of the year—and snow-covered fields, painting a picture of desolate beauty. We arrive in Geilo, a notable ski resort town, where we will pause for lunch and soak in the alpine charm. Our final stretch leads us to Oslo, arriving in the evening. Once in the bustling capital, we encourage you to explore its vibrant city centre. Perhaps wander through the historic harbour or take in the panoramic cityscape from the rooftop terrace of the modern Opera House.
Day 6 - Oslo - Orebro - Stockholm
We begin our day in the vibrant city of Oslo with a guided panoramic tour. Renowned as the European Green Capital, Oslo beautifully merges contemporary architecture with historical structures, set against a backdrop of breathtaking landscapes and sprawling parks adorned with sculptures. After our tour, you will have time to explore independently – perhaps venture into one of the city's many museums or simply enjoy the lively atmosphere.In the afternoon, we continue our journey into Sweden, traversing picturesque landscapes dotted with forests and lakes. Our next stop is Örebro, a historic town set alongside a picturesque lake. Here, you can enjoy a leisurely stroll through its charming old town and admire the medieval castle. Following our visit, we'll press on towards Stockholm, arriving in the evening.
Day 7 - Stockholm
Today, we will set off on a panoramic tour of Stockholm, a stunning capital city spread across 14 interlinked islands. Our exploration begins in Gamla Stan, the vibrant old town known as "the city between bridges." Here, you'll marvel at magnificent structures, including the Nobel Prize Museum. Situated beside Stortorget, the main square, it pays homage to Nobel Prize laureates. We will also visit the the Cathedral and the Royal Palace. Where possible, we’ll take in the breathtaking views from Fjällgatan viewpoint. Following the tour, you will have some free time to discover Stockholm at your leisure. We suggest exploring the many museums and parks. You might also consider optional visits to the City Hall or the Vasa Museum.
Day 8 - Stockholm
After enjoying breakfast, it's time to conclude our journey. As you depart, you'll be taking home a collection of cherished memories from your adventures.
