Itinerary
Day 1 - Lecce
Upon arrival in Lecce, make your own way to the hotel and check in (an optional transfer service is available). In the afternoon, join a small group walking tour starting at 3pm to explore the city's highlights. Later, enjoy a private three-hour walking tour in the evening, beginning at Piazza Sant?Oronzo. We will stroll through Lecce's historic centre, renowned for its elegant Baroque churches and monuments. Along the way, you'll see artisan shops specialising in traditional papier-m?ch? crafts. Your guide will explain the significance of Lecce's Baroque art and its Roman heritage. Highlights include the Duomo, Basilica of Santa Croce, the amphitheatre, Roman Theatre, and the exterior of Charles V Castle, as well as various ancient building fa?ades. Overnight in Lecce.
Day 2 - Lecce
After breakfast, we take you on a small group tour to explore Apulia’s renowned culinary traditions. Join a private cooking class either in the morning or afternoon, where you will learn authentic Lecce recipes and enjoy the hands-on experience of preparing Italian specialities. Meet a Cesarina in her home—these carefully selected local cooks are passionate ambassadors of Italy’s culinary heritage. Discover their time-honoured techniques and use of local ingredients, then savour the dishes you have created, accompanied by a selection of regional red and white wines. This immersive experience offers a genuine taste of Lecce’s food culture. Overnight in Lecce.
Day 3 - Lecce - Polignano A Mare - Alberobello - Locorotondo - Ostuni - Lecce
After breakfast, we set off for a full-day small group tour of the Valle d’Itria. Our first stop is Polignano a Mare, a charming coastal town known for its dramatic cliffs overlooking the sea and a historic centre that reflects the diverse cultures that have shaped the area. Here, we’ll also explore local food and wine traditions. Next, we visit Alberobello, a UNESCO World Heritage site famous for its unique trulli – distinctive white, conical-roofed buildings that define the town’s character. We then continue to Locorotondo, recognised as one of Italy’s most beautiful ancient villages, noted for its flower-adorned balconies. Our final stop is Ostuni, the ‘White City’, renowned for its old town once entirely coated in white lime. We return to Lecce in the late afternoon for an overnight stay.
Day 4 - Lecce
After breakfast, enjoy a final morning in Lecce. If time allows, take a last stroll through the city to soak up its atmosphere or pick up any last-minute souvenirs. When you’re ready, we offer an optional transfer to the airport or train station to continue your onward journey.
