Day 1 - Welcome to Perth
Once you have arrived in Perth, make your way to your accommodation in the heart of the city, close to the WACA and Perth Mint.
The rest of the day is yours to settle in and start exploring Perth's compact city centre, easily reached on the free CAT bus network.
Day 2 - Rottnest Island Day Trip
This morning, make your own way to Fremantle, where you board a scenic ferry across to Rottnest Island. On arrival, you join a 90-minute air-conditioned bus tour of the island, with a local guide providing commentary on Rottnest's history, culture and unique wildlife.
The tour stops at Cape Vlamingh, also known as the West End, where you can step off for a short walk and take in the coastal scenery - keep an eye out for quokkas, and in season, migrating humpback whales, along with resident bottlenose dolphins and ospreys.
The route continues along the island's northern coastline, passing Wadjemup Lighthouse and Cathedral Rocks, a good spot to look for fur seals, before reaching the island's distinctive salt lakes.
Your tour ends at Thompson Bay, where the rest of the day is yours to explore Rottnest independently before the return ferry. You could hire a bike to explore the island's beaches and bays, try snorkelling or stand-up paddleboarding, or visit Rottnest Island Museum, all at an additional cost.
Lunch can also be added at an additional cost, if you would like to make the most of your time on the island. Your day trip ends with the return ferry back to Fremantle.
Day 3 - Explore Perth at Leisure
Today is free for you to continue exploring Perth. You could visit Perth Zoo, home to a walk-through kangaroo enclosure where the animals roam freely alongside visitors, or head to Pinnaroo Valley Memorial Park, a short walk from Whitfords station, where semi-wild kangaroos can often be spotted.
Day 4 - More Free Time in Perth
Another day is free to explore Perth, with the city centre and its surrounding sights easily reached on foot or via the free CAT bus.
Day 5 - Goodbye Perth
On your final day, check out of your accommodation and make your way onward, bringing your short break in Perth to a close.
