Day 1 - Welcome
Tuesday. Welcome to Egypt! Upon arrival at Cairo International Airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel in a shared coach with other members of the tour.
During the transfer, make sure to take in the panoramic views of the Citadel, the imposing Mohamed Ali Mosque, and notable landmarks such as Sultan Hassan and El Refaie mosques.
In the evening, enjoy dinner with us at a local restaurant - the perfect way to kick off your exciting Egyptian adventure!
Day 2 - The Mighty Pyramids
Start your day with breakfast at the hotel, before venturing out for a guided tour to one of the seven wonders of the world - the Pyramids of Giza. Make sure to visit the Cheops Pyramid, as its interior burial chambers are open for visits by the public. Not far from the Pyramids, you will also visit the Great Sphinx of Giza. This unforgettable statue combines the head of a Pharaoh with a lion's body. Following this, enjoy a quick visit to either the papyrus institute or a perfume shop.
Break for lunch, then continue the tour at the newly opened Grand Egyptian Museum. Showcasing more than 100,000 artefacts from Egypt’s prehistoric era through to the Greco-Roman period, the museum offers an unforgettable journey through the country’s ancient past. Marvel at its impressive collection of statues, jewels, and treasures — including the complete assemblage from Tutankhamun’s tomb, featuring his chariots, ornate jewellery, and iconic golden mask.
Finally, head downtown to Khan El Khalili Bazaar. Navigate its enchanting narrow alleyways and explore an array of souvenir stores. Here, amidst the vibrant atmosphere, uncover small restaurants and cafes frequented by both locals and tourists. Afterwards, we'll head back to the hotel to refresh before a local dinner.
Day 3 - Amazing Alexandria
Cairo - Alexandria - Cairo. Kickstart your day with an early breakfast in Cairo before venturing to Alexandria via the desert road (approximately 225 km). Explore the city's highlights, including Pompey's pillars, the Catacombs, and Montazah Gardens. Catch glimpses of the iconic Alexandrina Bibliotheca and Qaitbay Citadel.
Lunch at a local restaurant is followed by a return journey to Cairo, where dinner at a restaurant awaits.
Day 4 - Aswan & Nile Cruising
Cairo - Aswan - Nile Cruising. Rise and shine! Enjoy tea, coffee, and a breakfast box as you make your way to Cairo airport for an early morning flight to Aswan. Upon arrival at Aswan airport, you'll be met and swiftly transported for a guided tour.
The tour begins with a visit to the Old Dam, followed by a passing glance at the impressive High Dam, a crucial infrastructure providing irrigation and electricity to the entire nation. A motorboat ride will then transport you to the enchanting Temple of Philae on Isis Island.
Afterwards, transfer to the Nile Cruiser for check in and onboard lunch. Enjoy a relaxing felucca tour around the Elephantine and Botanical Islands, with views of the Agha Khan Mausoleum. Return to the cruise for dinner and an overnight stay on board.
Day 5 - Kom Ombo
Nile Cruising - Abu Simbel (optional) - Kom Ombo - Nile Cruising. This morning, you can choose to join us on an optional Abu Simbel by flight tour. Either join a guided journey to Abu Simbel or opt for a self-guided exploration by exploring the temples at your own pace. Guarded by four colossal stone statues of Ramses II, this monumental temple complex was meticulously relocated from its original site, which was threatened by the rising waters of Lake Nasser.
In the afternoon, set sail towards Kom Ombo, where the enchanting Ptolemaic Temple awaits. Dedicated to the deities Sobek and Heroeris, this unique temple offers insights into the ancient Egyptian pantheon. As the day unfolds, the cruise continues its journey. Delight in the comfort of the serene Nile as you enjoy an onboard dinner.
Day 6 - Karnak Temple
Nile Cruising - Esna - Luxor. This morning, enjoy breakfast before docking in Luxor. Here, get ready to explore the grandeur of the Karnak Temple, a vast complex that beautifully showcases ancient Egyptian religious architecture. Moreover, be captivated by the impressive exterior of the nearby Luxor Temple.
Conclude the day with an overnight stay onboard the Nile Cruiser with dinner included.
Day 7 - Goodbye
Monday. After breakfast, we head out for a tour of Luxor's West Bank. Delve into the mysteries of the Valley of the Kings, where ancient pharaohs found their eternal resting place. Marvel at the grandeur of Hatshepsut Temple, a testament to the reign of Queen Hatshepsut, and witness the imposing Colossi of Memnon, iconic statues that once guarded the entrance to the mortuary temple of Amenhotep III.
